The Possibilities are Terrifying

"Whose swearing voice was that? I thought that guy was ready to kill people, what a horrible family." Jonathan commented with his hair standing on end, he rubbed his arms together to normalize the eerie feeling running through his body.

"Jack?" muttered Zay. She turned her gaze towards the gate, faintly hearing a group of roaring car engines approaching.

"What are you waiting for Zay, come on! Let the stupid chicken face that creepy guy!" Jonathan quipped as he glanced irritably at where Vern was.

"Say that one more time! I'll shut your mouth right now!" retorted Vern. He turned quickly toward Jonathan. He clenched his fists, and even launched a direct attack at Jonathan's face.

Zay quickly caught Vern's fist and pushed it aside. She tried to hold back her emotions by sighing, lowering her head for a moment. Zay said, "Hah, whatever you say. I'll go with Jonathan."

Not waiting long after Zay said that, she pulled the door and got in the car just like that.

"But Zay, I'm ....," Vern's rebuttal was cut off by the sound of the car door closing very loudly, as if Zay had deliberately silenced him indirectly.

Jonathan pushed Vern's shoulder, he exclaimed, "Get out of the way, you bastard! What a waste of my energy and time!"

Vern was pushed a few steps back, he could see the sardonic smile of Jonathan who felt he had won from him. Vern cursed, "Asshole!"

On the other hand, Vern's heart was unhappy that he couldn't take Zay to the hospital. Vern looked to the right to see half of Jack's car passing through the main gate, then turned to the left quickly and saw Jonathan opening the front door of the car.

"Damn it, there's no other choice!" Vern grumbled, running after his heart.

The sound of the car doors closing could be heard at the same time, Jonathan put on his seat belt and started driving in the opposite direction of Jack's car. Jonathan could see from the rearview mirror that the group was traveling fast, when he remembered Jack's swearing earlier, unconsciously making his body shiver with fear again.

"Hiih, I can't imagine living in a house with someone like that," Jonathan complained, still not believing what he was hearing.

"Zay, wait a minute. I'll find the nearest hospital," Jonathan choked up as he turned to Zay and his eyes saw the man he hated. Jonathan suddenly hit the brake pedal suddenly, making everyone in the car almost bumping something in front of them.

"You're an asshole chicken, son of a bitch! Since when did you get in my car? Get out!" shouted Jonathan, who had already unbuckled his seatbelt and turned around, then tugged angrily at Vern's shirt collar.

"W-wow! Hold your anger, then I'll answer," Vern said as he raised his hands to ear level. His eyes flashed with anger, but he held back. As if the words spoken just now had succeeded in dampening his emotions as well, he had to be calm if he wanted to make sure Zay's condition had improved.

"Argghh, you're all assholes! Can't you guys just calm down for a minute! Aughhh!" cursed Zay in disgust with the arguing of the two men nearby. Moreover, the pain all over her body did not lessen, so her swearing ended with a groan of pain.

Instantly silent, both Vern's and Jonathan's eyes widened as Zay's anger froze the workings of both men's brains. Jonathan himself unconsciously released his grip from Vern's collar, and sat quietly facing the street.

"Move quickly! Find the nearest hospital!" Zay ordered. She pointed the way forward firmly, taking control in this strange situation.

Jonathan swallowed saliva while nodding his head as a sign that he accepted Zay's order. Meanwhile, Vern sat on the back seat holding his breath. The car drove back silently, Jonathan was still tense and didn't dare to look at Zay. He was focused on the highway with his eyes busy looking for a hospital.

"What are you doing?" Zay asked with a more normal intonation, but there was a hint of annoyance in her voice.

Jonathan looked briefly at Zay, then back at the road ahead. He stammered, "F-finding a hospital."

"Gosh, how long are we going to be looking for a hospital the way you are?" Zay complained, tapping her forehead. She leaned her head for a moment, then tilted it to the right so she could see Jonathan.

"Find the route on Google Maps first!" she ordered with a sigh.

"H-ha-ha, alright. Why didn't I think of that?" Jonathan turned to Zay with a strange-sounding laugh. Jonathan expected the mood to change, but Zay neither laughed nor gave the slightest smile. So he closed his mouth tightly.

Jonathan felt awkward, so he distracted himself by deftly organizing Google maps as directed by Zay. The app told him that the nearest hospital could be reached within 20 minutes. The rest of the time was filled with silence and the sound of Zay moaning softly a few times.

Vern was getting restless listening to Zay in pain, so he joined Jonathan in searching for a hospital. Along the way, he checked the buildings they passed one by one. After a few minutes, Vern suddenly shouted, "There's the hospital, pull over to the right!"

Jonathan checked Vern's directions, and when he was sure they were correct, he carefully turned the steering wheel to the right.

"Hang in there, Zay," Vern pleaded in a worried voice. He could feel his palms breaking out in cold sweat and the look of genuine sadness on his face.

"Don't worry, I'm still strong," Zay replied with a smile.

"Damn it, he's looking for face!" cursed Jonathan softly, he could catch a glimpse of Vern's face through the inside rearview mirror which really disturbed his mind.

"Did you say something earlier?" Zay asked while looking at Jonathan, she seemed to have forgotten her anger earlier, now she asked casually.

"Uh, uhm. We're here, let's get off!" Jonathan chose to lie, he couldn't possibly anger Zay again. Jonathan smiled awkwardly, then stopped the car right at the Emergency Unit building. He unbuckled his seat belt and opened the door.

When Jonathan's feet were on the ground, he pulled them back up as the cell phone in his pocket rang loudly. He hurriedly took the call and listened carefully.

"What are you saying? Damn it!" Jonathan exclaimed. He paused to listen to the person on the other side of the phone with a tense face, then he replied, "Okay, I'll be there in 30 minutes!"

Before Zay asked, Jonathan explained it first. His feelings were a mess, but he had no choice but to say, "Zay, I'm sorry I can only take you to the front of the hospital. There's something I need to check, it's important. I promise I'll see you later after my business is done."

"Its okay, don't say that. I actually owe you a favor," Zay replied understandingly. She gave a genuine smile that melted Jonathan's troubled heart.

Vern got out of the car first, then opened the door to help Zay down. After Jonathan's car left the hospital building, Vern put an arm around Zay's shoulders to help her walk to the Emergency Room.

"Please come here, my friend needs immediate treatment!" Vern shouted hysterically hoping that the hospital staff would come to him immediately. He didn't want to see Zay endure any more pain.

However, Vern's shout attracted the attention of many pairs of eyes. Besides the hospital staff, there was a group of people all wearing black suits and led by the frontmost man wearing a brown suit. They were 10 meters away from where Zay and Vern were. The leader had a sour face mixed with anger and was staring at the two of them.

"Bastard! Apparently you're here too!" cursed Jack angrily and in a voice so loud that it startled the people around him.

"It can't be uncle, can it? I'm pretty sure the direction of the group's car is different from ours," Vern muttered in panic.
