11 Gifted

Three years has passed by after the large scale attack of the demons were prevented by the teamwork of the town people and and it's town military might headed by the Lord Cromwell. Lord Cromwell has sustained injuries and was now recuperating inside his castle. This is the supporting report the spies from every other town has gotten when they gather intel inside.

Before the attacked happened, all of the spies escaped with their lives leaving as fast as possible. Raygen and Ryou, with this in mind, finally devised a plan to take advantage of this opportunity to feed false information to their enemies and friends alike. They both suspected that this attack hides a conspiracy when Matt Meltor informed them that someone manipulated one of his guards for him not to be able to reinforce Cromwell. Hopeful Light town was just lucky that Mister Ryou accidentally appeared there or else everything will have gotten to it's worst possible scenario.

They both waited for perpetrator to come because they were sure that if the enemy finds out that Cromwell is injured, he will come like a snake ready to swallow it's prey. However, what they did is just covering large holes, they can never hide the truth entirely. The enemy is wise not to take the bait foiling their plans altogether.

Outside the town, deep on the Farkel forest, a huge fortress was built over the years. Raygen was right and a dungeon was slowly emerging in there. As per the capital's order, Raygen was awarded and was exempted from giving tax for a year. He was also given the honor to oversee the situation on the fortress and had permission to get at least three percent of the magical herbs harvested inside the dungeon. The mysterious thing was that demons never came close or even fight to gain entry which perplexed Raygen too much.

Mister Ryou stayed in the town still wishing to take Leo as his disciple, and now that Leo is about to be three years old, he finally decided to open up his proposition to Raygen and Marie. The couple accepted the proposal knowing that Mister Ryou is a powerful and mysterious person, he might be a part of huge organization, giving Leo a solid foundation in the future. Besides, Raygen and Ryou took each other as a close friend, so there is no problem getting their son train with him.

"Thank you both for accepting my offer. I can't completely control my powers for now but I was planning to go to a special place to heal my magic veins. I think it would be years before I can return and teach Leo personally. I'll leave behind some notes and guides for him to start on. Actually, I can't hand this out if you refused my offer because my master instructed me to never give this to a stranger. However, now I can give it to you as the parents of my disciple. You can learn some things here and you can also teach it to others if my disciple permits you." Ryou took out two books and presented them to the couple.

"I'll do as you say Mister Ryou. Please, if you don't mind, stay here until your disciples' birthday. I know that he is close to you. You often baby sit him for us and I see that he likes your company."

"Of course, also I won't go until I taste that wild ranga chicken tomorrow. Your chef's cooking is to die for".

Leo, who was the topic of their conversation was quietly sitting in front of Ryou's room, patiently waiting for him to go out. The kid didn't know that the person he is waiting, was actually already out talking to his parents. Beside the young Leo is a girl not older than thirty, a maid designated to assist him and be his nanny. This has been a routine for Leo every morning after that day where he accidentally saw Ryou use magic outside accidentally.

Leo is a very mature and intelligent for his age but the playfulness and curiosity of a child was still there. His parents were bewildered by this comparing to other kids but Ryou told them that this is normal and he saw similar cases of this in the past. In the end, they just assumed that Leo was gifted with extraordinary ability to learn very fast anything that he was given or tasked to do.

He really was gifted, however, not the way that they have expected. And this gift has been tempering the boy's body ever since the day he was born and it was the reason for the child's growth. This almighty gift will be the reason that will change his life.
