Callidora never pictured herself as a stalker but here she was stalking a five-year-old. She sat atop the tree as she peered through the window into the house. There was a party, it was just the girl and her parents and they were singing a birthday song to her.
Callidora could hear them like she was in the same room. She hummed along and tried to pretend she was also a part of this even though she was outside in the cold that she could barely feel, alone. The cutting of the cake seemed to be the young girl's favorite part because she screamed when her mother brought the cake.
She knew all she had to do was knock and they would open the door but why would she do that? She didn't deserve any atom of happiness not with what she had done. She sighed and swung down from the tree, her soles touched the floor silently.
That was enough stalking for one night after all the longer she stayed here the more dangerous it became not with the Sage's guards on her tail. It has been five years now did he really still think she would come back?
Why would he even want her back? But she knew why, it was all about power for Asmodeus. Being able to control her had been exhilarating for him and he wanted to do it again. No way she would let that happen, they couldn't kill Ciro she already did the unforgivable to prevent that. She wouldn't sell off what was left of her pride.
As she walked away, she took one last look. She couldn't afford to come here again, it would be better for everyone maybe not her but everyone else.
"Ugh!" She said as she opened the door to the cheap motel she had been in for the past two weeks and two days. She could do better, true but why? At this point, she was just existing because it was too early for her to give up yet but with each day it was getting harder to try.
"Stop right there princess!" She heard a loud voice say and she raised her head to find that she was surrounded, her exit route had been suddenly cut off.
"Are you kidding me?" She exclaimed, more than a little pissed. "I had a rough day, I rather we didn't do this."
She didn't understand what the Altereds had against her but she has come to understand after the first three attempts—to either murder her or capture her she wasn't sure—that there was no point to try and reason with them.
She still wasn't sure why they always came for her though she thought it might greatly have to do with the fact that she was royalty. After all, they always made sure to address her as a princess every single time as if they wanted to fulfill some unseen protocol. They were majorly the reason why she was on the run aside from Asmodeus of course.
"I don't think you have a say in the matter." The one she thought was the leader said, he was the only one not holding a weapon.
She rather leave without casualties, she understood by the third time that killing all of them didn't make any difference, they just tried again. She didn't understand how they never ran out of Altereds to send. She thought making them was hard.
"Hey, you look familiar." She said to a boy directly in front of her who was obviously shaking. She didn't think he looked familiar but he looked genuinely scared of her, she wondered if he had seen her work first-hand. "Do you think I don't have a say in this matter?" She smiled her prettiest smile, her brother did say it could melt the coldest but by the way the boy screamed and charged for her, she knew Ciro must have lied.
She shifted quickly to the right just as his ax was about to make contact. An ax! She screamed in her head, she was thinking closer to murder than kidnap. She swiped his ax and he abruptly stopped almost three feet away from her and that was when he realized he no longer held his weapon.
Everyone was disoriented for a couple of milliseconds where Callidora weighed her weapon and she thought it would do just fine. A roar from the supposed leader broke them out of the trance and they all attacked at once, except Axy boy he looked like he would need a minute or two.
The first to reach her had it bad, she cut off both his hands at once. The blood splashed on her face, she had to resist the urge to lick it. That was two down, eight more to go. She almost yanked at the next person's neck but luckily she was able to miss in time which was bad because she could have been fending off seven people but it was still eight.
The confined space was also disheartening, running around would increase her speed and weapon force and the best part of having to take them out one at a time. It was tough but she managed to cut off all their limbs, only Axy boy remained untouched and unmoving.
"I need a drink." She said with a nasty grin and the poor boy didn't even have time to react. With his eyes wide, he stayed still till she drank her fill, his fear spiced it up. "Now that is some good blood."
She picked her backpack and strode out of the room. Axy boy would be fine as soon as he got some dinner, the rest would need about two or three days to be able to move around again. Their limbs sure take a while to regrow.
As she strolled out of the motel and ran into the night one thing was sure two weeks in a spot was it. Pushing it further was like asking for more Altereds to show up at her doorstep. Well, she could easily avoid this by simply returning to the vampires but she would rather die.
