A hero is a good guy who always protects his people from villains, the worst scum of the society. They bravely fight any hurdles that come their way and achieve success in their life. The government gives them a special status, the people of the country admire them and tons of fans fall in love with them. But what about the villains? They face a lot since their childhood and when finally managed to achieve an ounce of power in exchange for their soul with the devil, they create a whole army of ants only to get crushed by a nerdy dude, whom everyone claims to be the hero when his avatar changes. They getting torn apart alive by the hero is a show to everyone's amusement. And what's the crime they commit anyway? Bomb blasting on an almost empty road, kidnapping a clumsy girl which brings more misfortune than the villain himself, destroying buildings that already had a weak foundation to begin with, and all those super silly crimes which media exaggerates... Sound such a waste of power to me. But enough is enough now. It had come to a point that now I pity them. I've decided that I'll become the most powerful villain of this world and will bring true justice which has been exploited so brutally. However, there's a teeny-tiny problem I am currently facing. That is, NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES I TRY, THINGS ALWAYS TURNS OUT TO BE THE OPPOSITE OF WHAT I WANT THEM TO BE! I'VE BECOME A FREAKIN' HERO OF THIS SOCIETY!!
"Once upon a time, a cruel villain kidnapped a young beautiful woman from the streets while his colleagues were creating havoc in the city. However amidst the chaos, there was one man who didn't run away from their disgusting faces. He finally unleashed his powers as he noticed so many casualties were done yet the authorities couldn't do anything to protect their civilians. Frustrated, he torn apart their flesh in a single blow and saved the damsel in distress. They kissed each other and the mayor praised him in public in the awards ceremony. Once again our savior has saved the day!"
And that's how almost every story ends.
Sigh....
But I have a few queries regarding this story, which for some reasons nobody would dare to answer them for me.
Why didn't the hero do anything right from the beginning? Why didn't those who lost their loved ones raised their anger? Why is it that the authorities couldn't do anything? And more importantly, why did nobody bother to ask why those villains were doing this? Was there really no solution other than tearing them apart alive?...
The answers so disgustingly obvious that it makes me wanna puke.
It's the brainwashing technique in which everyone is binded with societal chains of blind belief and trust. Certainly, feeling of gratefulness is a good thing when somebody comes to save your life. But in this era, things have gotten to a next level.
We see bloodbaths as amusement in our daily news broadcasts. Their are live commentaries upon hero's moves and villain's tactics.
Fuck that! We even have a training battleground for people to develop their skills and level up in the society. Even children have ranking system seperately based on these points. Sigh, those bad old days when I was student....
Coming back to the present, I see that I am still sleeping on this rotten mattress which I picked out from garbage square. My small apartment with paints cracked and multiple spider webs at corners.
"Rise and shine Heather...
this is so wierd. I'll never say that again." I shrugged as I just greeted myself my mother was used to back when I was a child.
She always wanted a girl child because she got fed up with my elder brother, but unfortunately I turn out to be a boy too. So she named with feminine name instead.
Honesty speaking, even I got fed up when I grew up with my brother. He's so cold!
No nonsensical talk, rich-guy mannerisms, full grade in all subjects, no particular interest in girls, and highly focused on his career.
He wanted to establish a hero corporation, and so he did. I don't know what he's working as, but whatever! It's not like I care.
"Alright! enough with recalling the past. I've something very important to do today."
I pushed my one millimetre thick blanket, again taken from dump, and rushed to my bathroom.
"Ugh! Shoot! I forgot the water doesn't come on Thursday! I should've stored some in advance....I guess I'll need to go to park again." I crouched down as I stared at the empty cracked bucket infront of me and sighed.
This was third time of this month. Even though I've been living here for almost two years I still can't get this thing stuck in my head. Ugh! It's so frustrating!
In case you haven't guessed it by now, Yes, I am a broke man who lives alone in this remote area of 7E-city. I ran away from my family a long time ago and happened to lay my eyes on this location. Even though this region was completely destroyed by monsters a few years ago, the water supply is still available in this area.
By accident sometimes electricity would last for a day too, but it would cut short as soon as the sun sets. The rents were much cheaper than I'd expected and there were many convenience store in nearby region too. In short, I had all those basic necessities I needed except a job.
But that wasn't a problem because I had other methods to earn as well.
And today was going to be a big day. This time I'm fully prepared with a plan and no matter what I'll make it a success! Just you wait! Today's gonna be bustin' baby!
With the jolly heart I carried in my heart, I packed my bag and headed towards the Nature Park, or shall I say my public restroom. As usual, I walked down over the debris on lane and crossed over the fencing to enter this new zone.
Since this border was a secluded place as well, it was easy for me to not get noticed. I whistled my favourite tune as I saw the hustle in city echoing with car honks and people's chattering. It was so lively than the place I live in.
A few turns and tadaa! Here we are at the Nature Park...wait! Why do I sound so creepy? Ugh! Forget it. I really need to go to toilet right now...
