7 Quest Rewards!

Renard followed Robert through a door that said staff-only and a few corridors. Eventually, he stopped in front of a decrepit old wooden door. He gingerly knocked three times and said. "Boss, Renard is here to see you."

A few moments of silence later, a gravely voice that Renard clearly recognised as Kyle's responded. "Let him in for me, you are dismissed Robert."

Robert pushed the door inwards and gestured for Renard to head inside. Although he was still somewhat hesitant, he knew walked in. The room wasn't large, there was no desk, nor anything that made it seem like an office. Sat in the middle of the room was a round table and four chair set that seemed to match the door in its age. The room resembled a shack more than anything however, it did have stone walls supporting the thatch roof. The stone walls looked very aged, moss grew between the stones and the bonding agent had broken away in places.

Sitting at the table was Kyle, next to him was a ordinary looking jewellery box with a lotus engraved on the top. He closed it and beckoned at the chair opposite him. "Come, sit down. I presume you've got some boar hides for me. I know this isn't what you expected from my 'little shop', I just told you its old name."

Renard was more confident now that he knew it was the same Kyle. He walked over to the table and sat lightly on the rickety chair, he felt like it would break if he wasn't careful.

'Thank god, it would have been awkward if I had to leave to get them. I should have remembered to take them out before.' Renard opened up his inventory, he had already used the separate option on the regular boar corpses. Currently, along with the four hides, he also had four piles of bones and viscera sitting in his inventory.

The only boar still in one piece was the leader. He wanted to check if he could hand in the whole corpse, as it might give him more money. Alas, when he checked the options, there was no select option available.

Feeling disappointed, he separated the last boar and selected all the hides to submit. As he selected each hide a little green tick appeared in each corner of the inventory boxes.

At the moment Renard thought yes, all five hides appeared in Kyle's hands. He nodded his head as he noted the four regular hides. However, when Kyle reached the leader's hide he was a little surprised, he hadn't expected Renard to kill such a strong creature.

Kyle looked up and said, "You managed to kill one of these annoying buggers then, this hide is actually worth quite a lot."

"I am sure you will compensate me correctly, you can't act cheap now I know you own this grand place."

"I wouldn't dare, here is your reward." Kyle spoke in a sarcastic manner.

Renard was prepared for something bad however, he was pleasantly surprised at the first thing he saw. 'That is lots of money this will allow me to....' Renard's thoughts stalled as he saw the words 'Unrequited Love'.

While Renard's thoughts had stalled, a dramatic change happened to Kyle. He suddenly became flustered, unsure of how to express himself he grabbed a possession he had never even considered giving to anyone. Kyle raised his hand towards Renard, he was holding out the owner token.

Renard didn't notice this, he was too busy getting ready to run. "Ok, well I have to leave now, I have some important things to do." Without even letting Kyle reply, he pushed the chair back and sped out of the office.

Renard made his way through the corridors back to the main lobby, not willing to stop for anyone, he ignored Robert as he asked "How did it go?".

Renard continued to run until he made it into the city centre, he put his hands up against the fountain, almost ready to jump in. 'I lost a great friend this day.'

He let out a cry, "Is there nothing you hold dear system! First, Lucy. Now, this. WHY?!"

A future political extremist overheard his screams, he had the thought, 'Yet another person screwed over by our rulers, what a disappointment' A look of disgust was on his face.
