24 Chapter 20: Invasion
Rumble...
The whole dungeon shook. Many adventurers were baffled by this occurrence. Some petrified, some fled the seen, but the dare devils stayed in anticipation.
Sarah: Why do i have a really bad feeling about it...
The rest of the members were in total agreement about this feeling. They nodded their heads in unison and raced towards the exit of this dungeon.
rumble...
The shaking of the dungeon never ceased for even a moment; this made even the bravest of the daredevil's heart waver, even those outside the dungeon were growing restless.
Emyrs and most of the adventurers made it out safely. Even though they were technically safe, the restlessness still lingers freshly behind their minds.
rumble... rumble...
with each succession the dungeon shook more violently, eventually affecting even the nearby towns and cities.
The news spread like wildfire. The main topic of discussion would change to this concerning news. Many speculation and rumors were created in this short time span.
Eventually one would be the centre of attention- a monster outbreak. The restlessness had mutated into a new form. Fear.
The quake's roars echoed the entire province of Chetvert and a small portion of Krist, but after a tense hour and sweaty palms, it finally faded. It was a brief moment for them to catched their breath. In the end, everyone knew the terror never ended, it had just begun.
Adventurers, including Emyrs and his team, scrammed back to the nearest city (capital) to defend it. They knew they had no chance of winning fighting out in the open.
One day passed by, the morning sun shine enveloped the earth and the soldiers along side the adventurers had their tension grow to a climax. They knew today the army of monsters would arrived. It is the uncertainty of the arrival of army that made them feel vulnerable.
Not long after, black dots started to fill the the skyline, like a flash flood, rushed towards the capital. The war had begun...
The enemy was the once timid and patient shadow lurker. It seems their impatience had taken hold of them. Mindlessly attacking the soldiers and adventurers, scouring for the young and devouring helpless men.
young boy: (holding a knife, screamed on top of his lungs) Get away from my mother!
The shadow lurker muched down on its tasty meal, ignoring the boys presents.
young boy: (tears started to swell up in his eyes) Get away from my mother!!
The young boy wasn't able to watch the monster consume his mother's flesh any longer; although he was trembling greatly, he charged straight at it with resolution.
The spider felt the wrath of the child; it slapped him with one of its legs (#getslapped). The child flew into the air and crash down into the ground. His shoulder rubbed against the ground, the friction caused his shirt to tear and his skin to rip.
The child, bruised and tattered, wanted to flee out of this misery but he couldn't. He was locked on by the terrifying humongous spider that slowly creeped up to him. The monster tormented his mind with its obnoxious figure: long slick legs, thick saliva and a pair of blade like fangs.
After a quick struggle from the boy, the boy finally gave up, fully petrified like a medusa's statue.
The shadow lurker inspects for a moment before pouncing onto the boy to fill the unsatisfied appetite.
However, before the monster was able to taste the child's blood... Bang! It has already lost its own.
The thunderous sound snapped the young boy back to reality. "Such sound could only be a thunder strike from the god, Zeus!" thought the boy. He started to prostrate.
Emyrs: Right, but not quite...
Boy: (sprang up like a spring) Were you guys the one that saved me?
Emyrs: Yeah, my name is Emyrs.
Natsumi: That's right, you don't need to be afraid anymore!
Boy: Ah... (bowed down) thank you. I don't know how I can repay you guys.
Emyrs: Boy, what is your name?
Boy: Henri... Henri Lester
Emyrs: What a fine name, suited for a future great leader.
The boy's eyes gleam like a gem, who knew the simple words Emyrs said would end up changing the boy's life. Henri Lester, a name that would later resound throughout the eons as the wisest and prosperous king the world has ever met.

(I'm using gods and goddesses from greek as it is very notorious. Although most of you would be more familiar with Thor, he won't be coming up anytime soon in this book even though he is a deity, which suits the false god identity (half-man and half-god). That is because his origins are from Norse mythology, not greek mythology.
The reason why I didn't use Roman mythology even though it is very similar to greek mythology it is not exactly the same, for example: from Roman = greek
Neptune = Poseidon,
Jupiter = Zeus
Mars = Ares
Cupid = Eros
and so on; I am also more familiar with Greek mythology, thus please don't get confused with why some gods are not used XD)
