9 (Side story) The food stall

Riding their carriage, Emyrs and Alice headed down the street.

Growl~

Alice's tummy is getting pretty empty.

Emyrs:(chuckles) We should probably have some snacks before dinner.

Alice nodded with embarrassment.

"Selling meat skewer for 3 copper each!"

"Selling apples for 4 copper and 50 iron each! Cheap! Cheap!"

"Selling fresh baked bread for 80 iron each!"

With each store yelling out their prices, Emyrs and Alice arrived at a random food stall. The stall was selling rabbit skewers on par with sticky rice made by a cheerful old man. It was crowded by customers.

"Old man give me one serving with extra sauce!"

"Old man give me the cheapest deal that you have got!"

The old man turned around and noticed them.

Cheerful old man: Hey there kids, want to try some of my specialty?

Emyrs: What do you have on sale?

Cheerful old man: My specialty, called the "sweet sticky skewer". A dish that consist of 2 rabbit skewers laid on top a dome of white sticky rice and topped with a layer of coconut honey glaze. Young lad, this is a must have in "Ares". This small stall has been operating here for generations and has been proven to be a trusted stall.

(The coconut was either dropped from dungeons or harvested wild by adventurers)

Emyrs: Give me a single serving then.

Cheerful old man:(cheerfully) Coming right up!

5 minutes later...

Cheerful old man:(handed over the dish that is wrapped inside a huge leave) There you go! That will be 30 copper. (Honey is expensive)

Emyrs handed over the coins and head back to the carriage. Alice stared at the wrapped meal on Emyrs handed with dilate puppy eyes. Emyrs only smiled at the sight and proceeded to open the wrapped meal on the carriage. A sweet coconut scent fills the air.

Alice:(urging) Hurry~ hurry~

Emyrs:(pulled out 2 pairs of wooden spoon and fork for (spatial storage) and hand one to Alice) Alright, alright, there you go.

Emyrs and Alice started to dig in. Both starts with their first bite but ended with polar reactions.

Emyrs:(in disgust) How is this even a meal?! It's more like munching down on coconut candies!

On the contrary...

Alice:(in bliss) Yum~ yum~ yummy~

Emyrs:(looks at Alice) Is it that good? Even the meat skewer taste sweet and worst of all- it is over cooked! It's more like biting into rubber...

Alice: It's good~ Very good~ because it's sweet and sweets are hard to come by!

Emyrs: But the meat taste like rubber-

Alice: It doesn't matter because the sweet sauce taste good! (Takes another bite)

Emyrs: ...

Alice:(tilted her head) Do you not like sweet meals?

Emyrs:(retorted) It's way too sweet!

Alice: Are you even human? (He's not though)

Emyrs:(in a surrender pose) I give up! I give up! I give up!
