THE NOT SO BEGINNING

"Kim Kamila Calista Cedar, where are you off too young lady I wasn't done talking "Shouted Mrs Kim .

"I wasn't walking away Ma I just took a step back so my head doesn't go flying out the window" Cedar said calmly

"Look my dear this is best for you it isn't forever ok only till college is over ok you got into Soul National university Good news with recommendations from Hardav university really good news, you have two years working experience as my assistant at my company even better the investor Mr Lee likes you and wants an arranged marriage it will be good for the business"Mr Kim replied

"Dad don't be too harsh on her she just got back from a trip ok she needs rest and do they still do arranged marriages,we're half Korean half Australian but we grew up in Africa for at least for 10years we're literally global citizen and she just turned 18 things aren't like they used to, it not like my time when I listened to you and did an arranged marriage i mean mine went well at least I'm happy but she hasn't even met the guy she's to young ok " Azura said

"Well enough of the family talk, Hi I'm Kim Kamila Calista Cedar or KKCC or KC or Cedar it's more professional I'm an 18year old Global citizen who is about to go to college pretty ,delightful right well let's see I have very influential parents at least we were your average family the ones that put food on the table after a hard daily job like my older sister says, before Dad's Tech business went big, not long after a big deal came for my mom's cosmetics business nothing a little Korean skincare can't fix I'm I right. Anyways I'm the top of my class, Fencing club captain, tennis champion and volleyball champion definitely wrong choice of sports if you ask me but anything to be different I'm not following the trend of girls being fragile, one can be delicate and elegant and still be Straightforward and charismatic that's is what I go for you know.

Cedar slipped into her room and plopped on the bed holding her head before facing the large mirror opposite her bed

"It's a good thing I chose Law now I can get Dad out of any pickle he's in those lawyers of his are really manipulating him"sighed Cedar

"Psst psst" a strange sound from the window

"How many time have I told you to use the door the last time Our neighbour thought you were a burglar"Cedar

"Haaa I'll still say it your room needs life and you don't seem to take my advice well I heard Mom talking about Marriage don't worry when your off I'll take good care of your room " Seo teasingly

"And when you do that I'll be getting suggestions for funeral halls and since you like so much colour the hall will be emerald gemstone and skyblue and some pale oak quite Fancy if you ask me" Cedar

"Geez miss uptight much it was a joke "Seo

"I brought you a choco roll I Know how much you love them and since you're leaving for college soon I wanted to say a proper Goodbye I'll miss you"Seo

Cedar staring blankly" oh ok thanks"

"That's all no hugs, No you're my favorite sibling" Seo shocked

"Are you sure you're the one they want an arranged marriage with, you know sis got lucky because her fiance was ready to wait for her you on the other hand " Seo coughing mockingly

Frowns"I don't need anybody ok and the choco roll is half eaten please kindly leave my room or preparations will start pretty early than I thought" cedar with a devious grin. Seo leaving with the half eaten choco roll"hmmph more for me"

Cedar plopping back on the bed "I don't need anyone just me and no one else" then she closed her eyes and fell asleep on her soft master sized bed .

"In a week you leave for college what are your plans"Mrs Kim the next morning right before the morning meal she took a walk in the garden with Cedar

"Mother I don't think I feel comfortable sharing this with you but when I do I will be willing to tell you " bowed Cedar

"Ah you're doing that annoying thing again what I'm I going to do with you my baby lawyer " Giggled Mrs Kim

"Nothing I guess just let me be " Cedar picking up a dried pine leaf

"Breakfast is set ma'am, Sir and Young Masters are set at the table" Esmeralda the caretaker

"Oh ok we'll be there shortly and Azura ?" Mrs Kim

"Miss left earlier this morning, before sunrise" Esmeralda replied

"Ok, she didn't even say goodbye, this children don't pity their poor mother" Mrs Kim shaking her head

"She left a letter and Wine which I left at your dressing table ma I'm sorry you didn't receive it earlier" Esmeralda bowing handing out a yellow envelope

"Yellow envelope that's odd " Cedar

As Mrs Kim read the letter her eye widens and she exclaims

"Oh no " Mrs Kim walking really fast with the letter in her hand as she darted towards the main building

Cedar rushing after her , then she sees her Mom sobbing at the dinning table

"Quite unethical and very inappropriate to disrespect the food if you ask me" Cedar murmured

"It's it's..... Your sister why now it's a blessing but it just really really painful for her to leave like this " Mrs Kim sobbing

Everyone petting her as Cedar picked up the letter it reads

" I CAN'T DRINK THIS WINE BUT YOU CAN, I CAN'T THINK OF A PERFECT NAME ,BUT IT ISN'T TOO LATE TO BECOME GRANDPARENTS IS IT "

"But but she should have told me face to face I don't like this who uses letters this days what happened to your fancy apps that makes us see each other she had to do me like this I I I I l'm so heartbroken why my baby didn't even tell me I stressed her yesterday with my problems and she has hers " Mrs Kim sobbing softly

"Pfft is that why you're crying she probably didn't want your emotional breakdown to worry her"Mr Kim who was already sipping the freshly squeezed grapes

Mrs Kim with eyes of flames " you wouldn't understand you old man it's the time to brag that my precious daughter not only successful but is expecting how delightful"

Cedar with her phone Buzzing everyone looking at her weirdly

"Well people do call me and it Aunt Azura" Cedar smirking

"Give me it "Mrs Kim snatching the phone and putting it on speaker

"Has mom read the letter, is she emotional hope she got the message and please tell her not to tell everyone just her I don't think dad is ready to hear it, I know she'll tell you but please keep it a secret at least till I get back .........Hello Hello Uhhhm Cedar are you there? what's withbthe silent treatment, What did Mom do?" Azura

Everyone staring at Mrs Kim who was now looking away , Cedar snatched the phone

"Yes ok take care" Cedar cutting the call

"The vase looks quite exquisite don't you think" Mrs Kim looking at the vase

"She didn't want anyone to know but I guess half the country hasn't heard it yet sooo I'll be in my room" Cedar bowing

"Hey, she's leaving" Min

As He attempts to copy her Mr Kim gave him a deadly look

"Well I guess the meal looks quite splendid doesn't it papa" Min chuckling awkwardly

She left with her plate and placed it on the reading table opening the window with such a wonderful view of the garden and the Lily pond .

"Cheers to adulthood" raising her juice

She then stood up ,went to her closet and packed up her clothes.
