Chapter 13: Mistaken Identity

(Nero's POV)

I was walking along the streets, going towards the riverbank where Erza is waiting for me to confess her feelings.
Of course, I didn't forget to change my clothes to be more good looking just for her. I also took off my mustache so she will immediately recognized when I meet with her.
I was really excited mixed with embarrassment because Erza is finally going to ask me to become her lover.
I can't really deny that I also like her because she's always sincere to me ever since we became really close.
I remembered how very bad our relationship when we just first met in the past. We argued and fought all the time like cats and dogs that we have to be separated everytime. There are even times we hurt each other that Lolibaba and Uncle Makarov angrily scolded me to not hurt my friends.
But, as several months passed away, the two of us started to get along until we became really close at each other. It should probably that we already totally used on each other's personality.
Then she suddenly started to show some affection to me which I don't really mind.
After that, I've been grateful to her for always being there when I have a problem or needs some help for something.
At that time, all I did out of gratitude for her is to feed her some of my new dishes I prepared. She happily eats them, saying that it was really delicious.
I know that it's not enough to repay her so I took her out somewhere, going on a date.
Ever since then... Everyone in the guild are now treating us like a couple even though we're not dating yet.
Now, this time... she's going to confess her love to me which I'm going to accept and become her lover.
I'll going make sure that this is going to be success, becoming officially a couple with her.
I'm really happy that I'm really forward to it.
I have to hurry... Erza already waiting for me in the river bank which my mustache self pointed to her.
Turning into a corner,
*Click!*
"Huh?"
I heard a clicking near me.
Suddenly, I noticed someone behind me.
It was man wearing a police uniform.
No, it's was real magic police who just handcuffed me.
"Jellal Fernandes! I finally caught you, a vicious wanted criminal that did a lot of evil activities which involves the dark guild." he said, showing me a wanted poster of a person I totally knew.
"What?!" I was completely shock from what I heard from him just now.
He's mistaking me for that wanted criminal Jellal Fernandes whom I completely look a like.
"You're under arrest, Jellal Fernandes. Come with me in Magic police station and don't resist." he said, pulling me on a certain direction.
I didn't resist and just followed after him.
How many times that this happened to me because of that sh*tty bastard Jellal that I always go to magic police station.
I guess I'm gonna make him pay again tonight by stealing some several panties and hang it again at the altar of the church with his name written on it.
Arriving at the magic police station, entering inside, I immediately put my black mustache on my face.

At their Chief office, I was sitting together with the magic policeman who's heavily being scold right now.
"Are your eyes really gotten bad that you fully mistaken someone who don't look alike with the wanted criminal in the picture." His chief spoke with angry tone.
"But Chief, I made sure that I caught the person in wanted poster. It just suddenly he became a different person when we arrived here." the magic police officer said his excuse desperately.
"How did that happen when the one you caught is handcuffed with you?"
"I-I don't know, Chief..."
"Why are you all like this when it comes to catching of Jellal Fernandes? You guys always mistakes him for someone."
*Thud*
The chief furiously hammered his fist on his table, making the magic police officer beside me became shamed.
I just looked away on my left side away from them.

"Now, look at this wanted poster and compare the face of the two of them! I'm gonna ask you again, do the mustache guy beside you and this wanted criminal Jellal Fernandes look a like to you right now?" The Chief asked him.
"No, Chief..." The magic police officer answered with full of shame.
"So... In other words, you arrested an innocent person because you mistaken him for someone on the wanted poster even though they totally don't even look alike." The chief concluded.
"Yes sir... I'm really sorry, Chief! It won't happen again." the magic police officer bowed, apologizing deeply.
"Okay then... What are you to do next?"
The magic police officer immediately stood up then also bowed to me,
"I'm really sorry, Sir. Please forgive me for mistaking you for someone." he apologized also to me.
"No, it's okay. Can I go now? Because I have something very very important thing to do." I said.
"Oh, why is it? The chief asked.
"I have a girl waiting for me and she had something important to confess on me. This is a important part of my life and you guys are ruining by arresting me because of mistaken identity." I responded.
"What a youth. It reminds me of my younger days. I'm sorry, you may go now." The Chief smiled at me.
I also smiled then immediately ran outside the magic police station, going towards the river bank where Erza is waiting for me.
Few minutes later, I finally arrived on the river bank.
I noticed the sun was already going to set.
I quickly looked around the river bank for Erza but she was not around anymore.
...
I can't find her.
This was because I was late and she can't wait for me anymore.
Feeling very sad,
"This really sucks. I was really looking forward for her confession. I was going say 'Yes' to her love confession to me. and become her lover."
Sitting on the grasses on the river bank then laid down on the ground as depression came to me.
"I really messed. What a bad luck." I took off my mustache and put it on pocket.
...
*Whoosshh~*
Feeling the strong wind, blowing towards me,
"The wind is so strong that I can't emote at all."
...
"I really messed up. I shouldn't have taken off my mustache before coming here at the river bank."
Sitting up,
*Rustle*
When I heard a rustling sound behind me,
"Hm?"
I saw Erza standing behind me with serious expression.

She didn't say anything and just walked towards me, sitting by my side.
The strong wind continued to blow towards us.
No one started talk and there was an awkward silence between us.

Yes, this is really awkward!
Huh? Eh? Why is she still here?
I thought she already went home because I was taking too long to come here.
Now, why isn't she saying anything?
She should be angry at me.
No, wait! My mustache self is the one who made her come here.
But, I'm still the one who's going to be scolded because I'm the mustache guy itself.
Looking at her condition right now, she seems panting heavily and there are several drop of sweat around her face.
Didn't she really tried to look around for me?
I'm really impress of her.
This riverbank is ridiculously wide, yet she still went out of her way to look for me around.
With that, you're making me fall for you, Erza.
I think I started to like you even more.
I don't know how will you confess to me right now. Should I break the silence?

Wait! Why would I?
She's the one who's going to confess to me.
In any case, I don't really have any clever lines to use on girls.

"What a beautiful sunset." I spoke with serious tone.
No, no, wait! Why did that overused phrase came out of my head?! It's totally the first thing you'll see when you look around this place and it also wouldn't fit the mood between me and Erza right now.
In this kind of situation,
When the riverbank dyed in the setting sun, she finally found the boy she's looking for to confess her love.
What a romantic situation!
Maybe, she's hoping for me to say something to her, giving her more courage to confess her feelings for me.
Glancing at her, I noticed that she's been fidgeting around, being very nervous.
It sure seems so.
Which means she wants me to say something cool.
But, I actually just came here to hear her confession of love then I accept her feelings, becoming a real couple.
That is just something I really looking forward.
And just now, I was mistaken as that wanted criminal becoming late in coming here to meet her.
Well, whatever.
As long as she's here beside me now, preparing herself to confess, I already really happy and my depression already disappeared to nothing.
Anyway, I shouldn't betray her expectation on breaking this awkward silence between us right now and give her the encouragement she needs.
I have to calm down and think this through!
Alright, here comes my poser phrase just for you, Erza.
With serious expression as another blow of wind flow around us,
"Today... the wind is sparkling."
Nailed it!
"Pffffft! Hahaha~!" Erza burst out laughing
"Eh?"
"Nero, what's with that? Hahaha~" she continued laughing.
This is really embarrassing...
This what happened when I tried to use those phrases.
"Nero!" Erza called me.
"Yes, what is it? Don't talk to me right now." I said, being embarrassed.
"I love you, Nero. I want you to become my boyfriend." she said while slightly blushing.
"Yeah, Sure. I love you too. Please take care of me." I replied.
"Huh?"
She suddenly grabbed my face.
"I'm really happy. Please take care of me too." she said, kissing my lips.
I, Nero Vermillion has now officially dating Erza.
