1 Nobody

Elise was fifteen years old and she lived with her father in a small village in the middle of nowhere. After Elise's mother passed away when she was six, her father decided to take her somewhere else to get away from the thoughts of his wife. They moved into a beautiful old building. It was more like a stone mansion than a home yet it was cheap due to the condition it was in.They spent years working on the mansion-house and by the time Elise was twelve they were living happily together.

On Elise's fifteenth birthday, her father threw her a large party with the whole village invited. Elise wore a simple baby blue summer dress with her beautiful auburn hair tied back into a plait that snaked down her back. Her eyes sparkled bright blue in the light of the flickering candles that were scattered throughout the house.

Days later, the sound of a car engine drove under Elsie's bedroom window but stopped outside the mansion-house that was next-door. Elise sat at her windowsill staring at the car as a boy around two years older than her stepped out the car. Elise opened her window and shouted out to him.

"Hey! You new around here? I'll come down and introduce myself!"

She got up and ran out to him. He stared at her with a large amount of curiosity.

"Hey! I'm Elise and I live in the house next-door. Who are you?"

"Nobody." He spoke flatly ignoring the look of sadness that flickered over Elise's face.

"Oh... Okay Nobody. Are you moving in here?"

"No, I'm just staying for a while. Now go away."

From inside the house a voice shouted, "Jackson?! Is that you!?"

"Jackson. Well it was nice to meet you Jackson, " Elise slowly turned around and left to go back to her room, "Oh, and by the way, That voice was Alice's, she's really kind."

Jackson stared at Elise as she walked off. Her hair was flowing down to her hips and she wore a simple yet beautiful lavender summer dress. He smiled to himself as he turned around and walked into the house next-door to Elsie's.

Days passed and Elise would go for a walk around the village or she would stare out her bedroom window but wherever she went Jackson was always there. He had perfect raven black hair and dark chocolaty eyes. He wore a grey and black bead necklace and large black earrings.

Elise sat under a tree in front of her house reading a book when Jackson came across from his house and sat next to her.

"Hey. Sorry for being a bit harsh when I arrived. I didn't exactly want to be here." He did sound truly sorry.

"It's okay. Most the boys in this village are idiots anyway. You don't seem like one though. You were just...very blunt."

"I don't see you really talk to anyone in the village. You're always in your bedroom or reading. The other day I saw you walking round the village buying things with a book in your hand, reading said book."

"Yeah, I don't exactly talk to anyone other than my dad, the people running the stalls in the market, Alice and now you." She gave a small, forced smile to him before turning back to her book.

"What you reading?"

"It's King Arthur and the Knights of the round table." She smiled at him again but this time it wasn't forced and she looked genuinely happy.

She turned back to her book and Jackson just sat next to her as she read. At one point he asked if she could read it out so he could 'read it' as well, so she did.

Elise's dad came walking back from the market with loads of bags full of fresh fruits and vegetables. His hair was dyed bright blue to match his bright blue eyes that he shared with Elise. He wore his hair in a small man-bun and had miss-matching, brightly coloured clothes on. He saw Elise and Jackson sat under the tree, they were both asleep. Jackson was sat with his back against the tree trunk and Elise lay with her head on his lap and a book lay on the grass near her hand. He just smiled at the scene and walking inside with a huge grin on his face.
