2 Best friends?

Elise and Jackson started hanging out more often. They'd read and have a picnic under the tree or they'd walk around the market together or they'd sit in either Elise's or Jackson's bedroom writing their own story called 'The light of the full moon'. They'd grown to be very close. You could even say they were best friends.

Jackson's seventeenth birthday was coming up and Elise was trying to plan the perfect party for him. She had balloons and banners, streamers and confetti, and, of course, cake, music, invitations and lots of colourful lights. She wanted it to be amazing and perfect. She'd invited most of the village and so far everyone was coming even though many of them had never spoken to Jackson.

The party came and everyone had an amazing night of dancing and eating cake. However, after the party, Elise and Jackson snuck out of the clean-up party and sat under the tree. Elise lay her head on Jackson lap as she fell asleep and Jackson closed his eyes as he leant back onto the tree trunk.

Alice came out looking for them. She had the same raven black hair as Jackson but her eyes were a bright, emerald green. Else's dad had said where they might be and he was correct. She smiled but didn't want to disrupt them so she went back into the house and told Elise's dad.

They fell asleep under the tree but, when they awoke at dawn, the sky was beautiful and you could see the sun rising on the horizon of the fields. Elise sat up, raising her head from its position on Jackson's lap. Jackson stood up and held his hand out to Elise. She took his hand and used it to help her stand up but her legs had gone to sleep so Jackson had to help her hobble into her house and up to her bedroom. Elise and Jackson  lay side by side on Elise's bed ; their eyes felt heavy and they soon fell back into a deep sleep.

At seven o'clock, Elise's dad finally woke up and as he was heading downstairs he saw Elise's door was open even though he'd left it closed last night. He went in and saw Elise and Jackson fast asleep on the bed. He was planning on going to the tree to wake them up but they looked so peaceful so he dropped all his plans and headed to the market to get food for breakfast.

When he got back from the market, Elise and Jackson were sat in the living room watching TV.

"You're awake!" Exclaimed Mark (Elise's dad).

"Yeah. What's for breakfast?" Elise got up and looked inside the basket of food that her dad was carrying.

"Dunno yet but I'll see what I can make."

Jackson got up and joined them as they walked towards the kitchen. They all sat at the table and ate the scrambled eggs that Mark had made.

"I better get home, my mum's probably looking for me." Jackson stood up, "Thank you for the eggs Mark, they were delicious."

"Anytime." Jackson went to pick his plate up but before he could, Mark said, "I'll clear the plates,don't worry about it. You get home and check that your mum's okay."

Jackson left, Mark cleared the table and Elise went out to the market where she ran into her best friend Lola and Lola's twin sister Leah.
