7 Chapter 8 Jealousy and Hatred

The king had left the castle after breakfast because he had work to do.

I lay down on the bed thinking about what Lilith said, I knew she didn't like me and I didn't understand why she wanted to help me.

Lilith who was in her chamber was being entertained by dancers. She couldn't wait for Evangeline to be out of her life for good.

Her plan was to take Evangeline far away from the castle and then kill her before the king finds out, she knew it would be very difficult and when the king finds out she will have to face the consequences.

When the king arrived, he summoned Evangeline to join him in the courtroom.

"How was your day?" he asked

"It was good, king," I bowed.

"Don't just stand there, come here," he ordered and I walked up to him.

I could feel my heart beating fast in my chest and the king noticed.

"Why is your heart beating fast?" he whispered and then

"Hmm?"

"M...my k...king, what a..are you doing?" This was a court room and the door was opened anyone could come in.

"I'm your husband, am I not allowed to touch my wife?"

"You s..said you will wait."

"Did I ?" there was a hint of mischief in his voice.

"Your highness, please someone might come in."

He didn't listen to her words instead he leaned forward and inhaled her scent. His eyes turning darker, he wanted her so badly.

The king's right-hand man entered the court room and was about to leave immediately when he saw what was happening between the king and his wife.

"Zagan," the king called him back, "Where are you going?"

The man bowed, "I thought you were busy and I decided to come back later, milord."

"Any news?"

"Yes, milord."

"Speak," he ordered.

"I..It's about your brother milord and it's very important,"

Teivel's mood turned foul, and his jaw ticked.

"You may leave," he dismissed Zagan.

He turned to me, "I'll see you later at dinner..." he took my hand in his and pressed his lips on my hand, "My Queen," he smiled and I felt a warm blush rise to my cheeks.

Lilith who just walked in saw what happened and a tear ran down her cheeks.

The King's eyes shifted towards Lilith who stood at the entrance of the courtroom. Before he could say anything she turned around to leave but he didn't bother to stop her.
