As the destined pitiful and evil empress, Levina endured numerous tragedies, including the loss of her own child, a prince, and the stripping of her power. As if her suffering wasn't enough already, her reputation as an infamous villainess also led her to face accusations of harming a baron's daughter out of jealousy. But despite her crimes, she met her demise not at the blade of a guillotine but rather through her sacrifice to protect the emperor she loved, even though he didn't treat her right since the time they met.
Knowing the tragic fate of her newfound body, Christelle is determined to alter Levina's life using her knowledge of the original tale. And consequently her actions, she starts to witness a change in Rion's demeanor, as he begins to display interest and affection towards her, contradicting his cold and cruel nature as described in the book.
Amidst a backdrop of political intrigue and rebellion, a surprising bond develops between Levina and Rion, confounding those around them.
