40 Chapter 40: Namekian village

"Boy, who are you?" Moori asked and immediately all the Namekians noticed his presence. Almost all of them were wary.

Gohan felt that it was logical that they had this distrust, since he looked different from them and not many ventured onto the planet Namek.

"My name is Gohan, and I come from a distant planet called Earth, I would like to use your dragon balls" said the boy bluntly looking at Moori.

Moori was surprised by this statement, but for some reason he felt that the boy was sincere. But nevertheless, a Namekian was ahead of him.

"What do you plan to do with our spheres?!" that Namekian demanded fiercely but Moori told him to calm down, "B...but"

"I'll take care of it" Moori spoke before turning to Gohan, "Boy, what purpose do you have in wanting our sacred dragon balls?"

Gohan knew that he had to pass some sort of test of courage in order to be awarded the Dragon Balls. There was no need to lie to him.

"I want to resurrect my friends, one of them is a Namekian who emigrated to Earth after the climatic catastrophe that occurred here" he explained.

"A Namekian you say?!" Moori asked.

"Yes, he is the son of a certain Kattatsu" added the minor and several looked at each other, "Besides, he created some dragon balls, but since he is dead the..."

"Earth spheres can't work" Moori finished his sentence, "I understand... I guess something terrible must have happened there on your planet"

"Yes, some creatures tried to destroy our planet and we fought to avoid it" he replied, "And soon, those creatures will land here"

"W-what? And that w-why?!" the namekian from before asked and the rest of the people began to feel fear at the threat.

"Because they want to collect the dragon balls, but unlike me… they want them to dominate the universe" Gohan said seriously.

He wanted to convince them completely, the sooner they did it the better. Moori looked at him for a few seconds, he was extremely indecisive.

Why should he believe him? Although this boy seemed to be telling the truth, he had no reason to trust his words and listen to him...

But on the other hand, he had been having a bad feeling all week. And possibly that could be due to future threats.

"I don't want anything bad to happen to you, even if those creatures come I'll fight them" Gohan spoke, "But it's necessary to use your spheres"

Moori looked into Gohan's eyes, noticing an incredible resolve in them. He was determined, he wouldn't be the one to condemn his planet for a foolish thing.

"Okay, I'm going to trust you Gohan" Moori commented before walking back towards the hut where he kept the dragon ball.

The young boy smiled with satisfaction and walked until he stopped at Dende's height, who looked at him puzzled, not knowing how to react.

"Hello, my name is Gohan, and I hope that one day we will be good friends" said the boy extending his hand as a greeting gesture. Dende looked at him.

"Y-yes, my name is D-Dende" the little namekian introduced himself shyly and Gohan let out a light laugh, "Y-you seem strong"

"That's because I've trained" Gohan answered smiling, and noticed that Moori came back with a huge sphere in his hands, 'It looks amazing'

He saw up close that they were much larger than those on Earth, this meant that the dragon's wish-granting ability was greater.

"This is the sphere of six stars, and in each village there is a person in charge of protecting a sphere" Moori informed handing it to him very slowly.

Gohan took the sphere, looking at the magical orb. Moori noted that instead of greed his eyes radiated hope. That reassured him.

"I understand, I must go to each village and take each sphere" Gohan said looking at the namekian, "Well, I would like you to come with me"

"What? For what reason?"

"It'll be easier if you explain the situation to them, there's no time to waste" Gohan explained and Moori nodded in understanding, "Alright, we're off!"

"Kuz stay in charge of the village while I accompany the boy, I won't be long" Moori indicated looking at the second oldest in the place.

Gohan and the Namekian took flight in the direction of the rest of the villages. Everyone looked at that with confusion, it had been quite sudden.

______________

Unbeknownst to Gohan, an Earth day had already passed since his arrival on Namek, and everything was going great so far.

With the help of Moori he was able to gather the six dragon balls that were distributed throughout the planet, there was only one more left.

Right now they were flying towards the house of the patriarch of the Namekians. It was on top of a fairly remote rocky ridge.

"I've noticed that you seem extremely powerful, much more than any Namekian" commented Moori scrutinizing him and the boy smiled.

On their travels they used to chat about some trivial things. Gohan told him the stort of Kami, the evil part of him Piccolo Daimao, and what he caused around the world.

Mutaito sealed him, until centuries later his father Goku defeated him. Although the reincarnation of Piccolo Daimao was "still alive", it was no longer evil.

Moori was surprised by all this, it seemed that on Earth the problems didn't stop. All the more reason they had to use the dragon balls.

"When the great patriarch unlocks your hidden power, surely no one would be able to defeat you on your planet" Moori said sounding excited.

"That would be awesome!" Gohan exclaimed with equal enthusiasm, but of course he already knew this. And indeed, that was his intention.

His plan was for the Guru to unlock his potential. Ginyu? Nor Frieza in his first form would be a difficult challenge to overcome!

'In the original series both my power and Krillin's increased tenfold as I recall' Gohan thought starting to do some calculations.

But before he knew it, the Guru's house appeared in front of them. They landed quietly and saw someone standing there.

"It's you Nail, it's been a while since the last time" Moori uttered walking towards the Namekian, who looked a lot like Piccolo.

"It's also a pleasure old Moori. The Guru is waiting for you inside" Nail spoke looking at Gohan for a moment, 'He's strong...'

'It would be interesting to have a fight against him, although I already have experience fighting Namekians' the minor reasoned smiling.

The three of them entered the house and suddenly the platform under their feet began to rise from the ground like a modern elevator.

After a few seconds they reached the main floor. There was a huge Namekian sitting on a stone throne.

"Patriarch, the ones you was waiting for have arrived" Nail bowed as he said this and Moori followed him. Gohan decided to do the same gesture.

"You, young man from Earth, have made a long journey to achieve your goal" said the Guru before coughing. He was elderly.

"Yes, I would like to gather the seven dragon balls" Gohan nodded, "Before the approaching beings get ahead…"

"It seems that the days of peace on the planet are over" said the patriarch raising his arm to take the sphere located on top of his throne.

"I promise I'll do my best to avoid a catastrophe, it's the least I can do to thank you for your great help" Gohan said.

"Yes... you have a generous and brave heart, but to face future threats you need more power, come here" the Guru spoke.

Gohan walked towards the old Guru, who extended his arm and placed the palm of his hand on the little boy's head, making him nervous.

"From what I see... you have an enormous latent potential, it's the first time I feel something similar" the patriarch commented stunned by this fact.

Then, Gohan's body was surrounded by a white aura, which became denser causing a state of bewilderment in little Son.

The power of him… was increasing nonstop! The sensation that flooded his body was heavenly and indescribable, he felt totally invincible.

"This is extraordinary!" exclaimed Gohan enthusiastically looking at his hands in disbelief, not believing what had just happened now.

His current power… was 625,000 units!
