41 The Next Music Legend Elimination rounds 1

At the end of the first elimination rounds, the crowd and had all left. The concert hall was empty, only Lai Zhiqiang, His assistants and the member of the staff were left.

The members of the staff were moving around the hall silently. They packed up the equipment and decorations.

The other judges had all left, only Lai Zhiqiang was left. He sat laid back on his seat, eyes closed. His breathing was low, He had been at this position for close to twenty minutes.

He was having a migraine, it had started halfway through the performance. He had barely managed to seat through the remaining performance.

His migraine had gotten much worse, he frequently had migraines. He usually had his medicine at hand but sadly due to his particularly busy schedule the last few days, he failed to come out with his medication.

He promptly sent his assistant Lou Lei to buy him some medicine as soon as the show concluded. The Director offered to take the judges out for a dinner to celebrate the competition's progress but Lai Zhiqiang tool a raincheck.

As soon as and the other judges left, Lai Zhiqiang hurriedly unbuttons the first two-button of his shirt. and gently sat back on his seat resting his head back and shutting his eyes to keep out the light.

Luckily the crowd had all left, the few staff members around were very quiet. He didn't have to worry about noise. It had been over an hour since the migraine started, the intensity had worsened. He was feeling a lot more nauseous than before.

'What was keeping Lou Lei, it's been over twenty's minutes already' He thought moaning silently.

Seconds later Lou Lei rushed in holding a bag of medicine. He had visited three pharmacies to find this medication. He stood at Lai Zhiqiang's side and tapped gently on his shoulder, to draw Lai Zhiqiang's attention to his presence.

Lai Zhiqiang gently opened his eyes and looked to his side.

"Brother Zhiqiang, I am back. Sorry for coming in late" Lou Lei said softly.

He had worked for years under Lai Zhiqiang, it wasn't his first time experiencing Lai Zhiqiang's migraine. Over the year he had done his research on how to handle migraines.

Contrary to popular opinion Lai Zhiqiang wasn't a very difficult boss. He had worked with a few celebrities before working with Lai Zhiqiang, he has seen his fair share of difficult celebrities.

Lai Zhiqiang always came off as rude and mean but he hears was always in the right place.

"What took you so long," Lai Zhiqiang said softly, seating up gently.

"I went to three different pharmacy shops just to get medicine. Here you go" Lou Lei handed him the medicine and a bottle of water.

"Thanks," Lai Zhiqiang said putting a few tablets of medicine into his mouth, he uncorked the bottle of water and gulped it down.

Lai Zhiqiang sat back on the seat for some minutes for the drugs to kick in before leaving.

Minutes later Lai Zhiqiang walked out to the lobby with Lou Lei following him closely. Everything was gently getting back to common, he walked down the lobby head bent.

They were a few steps away from the door when the door was pushed open and Lu Lanying walked in.

"Lanying what's going on, do we have anything planned tonight?" Lai Zhiqiang asks as she closed.

"Oh I'm not here for you Zhiqiang"

"You're not?"

"Yes, I'm here for him" Lanying replied notching her head to the right, smiling.

Lai Zhiqiang turned to the right, to see TJ jogging forward.

"Oh him"

"Yes him, we have a date"

"I keep forgetting you are married to that idiot."

"Zhiqiang"

"What you know I am telling the truth, the only smart thing he ever did was marrying you. I still don't know how he managed that with his limited intelligence."

"I can't believe you still bad-mouth me to my wife."

"I am not bad-mouthing you if it's the truth"

"Zhiqiang, I thought we were friends. I thought we made progress during the new year. We spent a night together, that should have brought us closer."

"I am embarrassed to know you", Lai Zhiqiang said to Tj and turned to Lu Lanying "I've got to go, see you tomorrow"

He said walking forward, waving at the couple as he walked.

Thirty minutes later, The car arrived at his apartment. Luo Lei had driven the car since Lai Zhiqiang couldn't.

Lai Zhiqiang got down from the car and went into his apartment building. While Luo Lei parked the car at the parking lot.

Lai Zhiqiang got into the elevator and put it on his floor. The elevator doors were gently rolling close when a manicured hand pushed it open.

Lai Zhiqiang looked up to see who it was and found himself face to face with the least expected person Liu Qiao Qiao.
