9 Soloing the Horned Boar

"One... two... three... and a one... two... three... four... fire!"

Rhythmically, a man who was running at a constant pace was speaking under his breath. In his hands was a bow that was stretched and an arrow nocked and ready to fire. Unbelievable as this may seem, the man was circling around an armed bipedal monster that was wielding a huge mace while firing his arrows every now and then. In front of that monster was another man with a heavy shield and a sword managing to hold his own against the attacks of the monster that was twice his body size.

"I can't heal myself anymore. Help! I'm already out of mana! Hey gorilla woman, take over for me!"

The warrior now stepped back as he was now on critical health. As soon as he said it, a female who gave him the middle finger moved forward to take on the monster as another female wearing a white robe immediately clasps her hands as she makes an incantation that quickly heals the man in front of her.

"Hey guys, I think the boss is now heading on towards its final stage. Start spamming your ultis or else we might get wiped."

The man firing arrows from the side shouted to the other members who were on the side.

"I got it, Vin. I'm already casting my spells."

A woman with a large robe covering her whole body had her eyes closed and was chanting strange words and as she spoke, flames that were converging in front of her begun to take the form of a sphere.

"EXPLOSION!!!!"

"LMAO, you're really such a weeb. Now I finally get to understand why you picked Megu as your username."

"Heh, I've always wanted to say that out loud."

The female who has just launched a spell snickered as another man with his face covered in a black cloth suddenly appeared at the monsters back out of nowhere laughed as he began using his dagger to hack away at the boss.

"Hey stupid paladin, get this Boss off me already! I can't keep tanking it forever!"

Despite being quite rowdy, they managed to continue whittling down on the monsters HP until it reached 5% of its remaining HP. After a couple more rounds of it being bombarded with various skills and spells, the small group of 7 people has managed to kill the armored monster.

<Quest: Slay the Ogre completed! Please head to the Adventurer's Guild to claim your rewards!>

This notification was all received by those of the same party.

"Yes! We can finally log-out!"

The black-clothed guy quickly cheered which was soon followed by a huge yawn coming from the archer.

"Well, we did manage to reach level 10 quite fast, no?"

"Yeah. I still can't believe that Arvin would actually be really good at this game. I mean, just look at him. He's already at the third stage of completing his class quest."

"Ehehe... I couldn't have done it without my loyal slaves."

Despite the harsh comment that Arvin gave, everybody just laughed at him for being silly.

"So, I guess I'll see you again tomorrow! Toodles! I'm gonna hit the bed now."

As soon as the black-clothed man said that, he immediately clenched a crystal that destroyed it in the process. Blue particles appeared in front of him as he slowly disappeared. Seeing him go away, the rest of the party disbanded and quickly logged out leaving Arvin alone.

He looked at the time and noticed that it was really getting late so he decided to tap on the log out button until he saw the friends section. He remembered his brother's username and took a quick look at his level and then logged out.

"Geez, just when I thought I caught up to him, he quickly managed to reach a higher level."

Before this instance, however, was the night that Devin had unwittingly attracted more monsters due to him heading out all alone. This inadvertently helped him to complete his quest to kill three more Slimes and Giant Rats. However, this also caused him to be targeted by a Horned Boar.

Just as he was about to flee, he suddenly remembered the fact that he no longer has to hide his ill-gotten skills as he quickly used <Protect> to reduce the impact that the Horned Boar heading towards him would deal towards his HP.

<Horned Boar Lvl: 6>

(Night Buff)

Stats:

HP: 300/300

STR: 15 AGI: 10

INT: 4 VIT: 30

Skills:

<Trample>

Charge to a nearby target dealing 10 damage and stunning the target for 5 seconds.

<Bulk-up>

The caster becomes slowed while blocking 5% of the incoming attacks for 20 seconds.

<Unstoppable Force>

Every time the skill <Trample> is used, 10% of the target's armor would be reduced on hit.

After confirming the Horned Boar's status, Devin sighed as he could only try his best and put effort into killing the monster with good use of his skills.

Seeing it use <Trample> on him, his quick call to use the skill <Protect> proved to be the correct answer as he noticed that after being hit with the skill, although his barrier shattered, he wasn't stunned for 5 seconds. On the contrary, the monster also seemed a bit disoriented but it quickly regained its ferociousness as it started attacking Devin with its horns.

"Yo, this is actually looking good."

Despite not exactly knowing the cooldown for the Horned Boar's skill <Trample>, Devin was quite sure that it would take approximately more than 2 minutes for it to once again cast the same spell. So he immediately decided to burst it with activating his skills in proper order.

He first used <Leap> and appeared right on top of the Horned Boar's backside and quickly dealt with damage by attacking it continuously until it manages to face him, to which he answered by running with on a pace that was slightly faster than the monster. He was only able to do this because he had invested in his AGI and now he was reaping the fruits of his harvest.

After kitting the Horned Boar, he once again remembered the concept of him using a tree to kite some Rabid Dogs back then. Seeing how the Boar was about to use its second <Trample>, Devin soon activated his <Haste> and started running away from the Boar. He knows that if he got stunned then it would be the end of him as he hasn't invested a single stat point to his VIT.

Running in circles, Devin once again reached the backside of the Horned Boar. This time he continued attacking it with his dagger until it stops and turned around to face him.

Devin knew that he was now down with three skills and was left with only two more. On a positive note, he hasn't taken any damage up to now while his target was left with 235/300 HP.

Unfortunately, things don't always work the way we want it to be.
