16 Feeding Them a Sleeping Drug part 2

"Max!" Erella cried out. She didn't know what happened to Max and the captain of the knights. Then a sudden flash of memories of her past life came to her. This happening was the same thing that happened in the drama that she watched in her past life. Poisons were put on the victims' food. And the victims will consume them without knowing it.

"I----I---Is he dead?" Erella murmured while her eyes turned wide and her face became white like paper. Her hands shook in fear when she went to Max to check if he was still alive. She nervously checked on his pulse and breathing. His vital signs were normal. He was just sleeping. She sighed in relief. Then she went to the captain's side to check him too. His vital signs were normal too. He was just sleeping the same as Max. She turned to look at her stepmother and stepsisters who were standing at the edge of the table looking at her with confused looks. They flinched when they felt the atmosphere turned dark.

"How come she is still awake mom?"Graciella asked her mother.

"You said the sleeping drug is too strong that only a drop of that will make a powerful person sleep for three days," Audrey said while looking at her mother with great confusion.

Baroness Paisley couldn't answer her daughters. She was also confused. Audrey was right. She spent so much money on that drug because they said it was too strong even a powerful mage will knock out if he will consume it. But why her stepdaughter was still wide awake? She remembered she put too much of the drug on her food because she wanted her to fall into a coma. The seller told her if the victim will consume too much of that drug, the victim will either die or fall into a coma. So why was she still wide awake?! Baroness Paisley couldn't believe what she was seeing.

Erella who heard what they said made her eyebrows furrowed. This was already her second time consuming a sleeping drug but nothing happened to her. It seemed like she was immune to the drug.

"Mom, stop gawking at Erella. We need to put the young duke to his room now." Audrey interrupted their thoughts.

"Yes, you are right dear." Baroness Paisley agreed and called the male servants she hired recently. The servants came in and were about to hold Max and the captain when suddenly Erella spoke in a threatening tone.

"Try to touch them and you will see what will happen to you."She threatened them. The male servant who was about to hold Max and the captain felt a little scared at Erella. But their fear suddenly faded away when they heard Audrey laughed.

"What will happen to them?" She mocked Erella and went to her. Erella just looked at her unemotionally.

"You became brave because the young duke is your fiance? ----- Audrey said while poking her head.--------You already forgot your position huh?! What do you think your little body can do? You don't have any power to fight back." She added. Erella ignored her. Her attention was all to the servants who wanted to touch Max and the captain.

"Try to touch them and you will see what will happen to you." She repeated what she said in a more dangerous tone. But they didn't listen to her instead they snorted at her and laughed. Erella didn't say anything, her eyes were still fixed on Max. Then the male servant with big muscles was about to touch Max but in just a few seconds he flew over the wall and was knocked out. Nobody saw what happened. Everyone gasped. All of their eyes suddenly went to the young duke. They presumed it was the young duke's doing. And all at once, the male servants moved away from Max and the captain.

"Mom, maybe the drug you bought was fake," Graciella said.

"Impossible! We tried it on someone who was strong first before I bought it." Baroness Paisley replied. After she said that, she saw the young duke and the captain was still fast asleep. But she got surprised when she saw Erella beside Max. She disregarded it and looked at the servants.

"What are you dawdling over there?! The young duke and the captain are asleep. So take and bring them to their rooms!" She ordered them. The servants quickly approached the young duke and the captain, but before they could go near the table. All of them flew over the wall and were knocked out. Everything was too fast and the three witches didn't see what happened. But Baroness Paisley and Graciella already knew that it was Erella who did it.

'How come Erella had powers? I recalled she was a worthless girl. Even a tiny bit of mana she could not squeeze out from her body before. So why she became powerful? Did the young duke help her to have powers?' Baroness Paisley was bewildered. But she could no longer continue thinking because Erella spoke again.

"What are you trying to do with Max and the captain?"Erella asked them dangerously. Baroness Paisley and Graciella couldn't have the courage to answer because they were intimidated by Erella. But Audrey who was clueless answered her.

"It's none of your business! The young duke will be mine from now on." Audrey said arrogantly because she thought she can still boss Erella around.

"You are really shameless! I already decided to forget what you did to me before because I'm already happy with my newfound family but I guess you still need to be punished so you can learn your lessons. huh?!" Erella grinned evilly. They felt a chill on their back when suddenly Erella disappeared. The three of them were frantically looking for Erella but they could not find where she was.

"M---M-Mom?"Audrey nervously called her mother. All of a sudden, Erella appeared in front of Audrey. Because of that, she lost her balance and fell heavily on the ground. Erella grabbed her chin firmly and smiled at her evilly. She tried to get away from Erella using her power but Erella was too powerful.

"Pl------Pl----Please spare me, "Audrey begged when she could not get away from Erella's small hands. Her arrogance disappeared and it turned to fear. She could already feel how powerful Erella was. She could sense the power was coming out from Erella. Baroness Paisley and Graciella tried to help Audrey using their powers but they were thrown away by the wind Erella used. The two of them groaned painfully on the corner where they were thrown like garbage. The three of them had powers but their powers were only below average. So they could not win over Erella.

"I guess I will still thank you for making my Max sleep. As you know, I still don't want him to see this ugly side of me." Erella whispered then slapped her on her face. Blood came out from her mouth.

"AUDREY!"Baroness Paisley and Graciella exclaimed.
