Fazing through the pillar leading to Platform 9¾, Bruce was met by a crowded train platform with wizards and witches everywhere, seeing their children off for the many months they would be spending in Hogwarts.

Most students were having heartfelt moments with their families while others seemed to be shooed away by parents with sneers frozen on their faces.

'Are those pureblood families? I feel bad for the children.' Bruce thought as he pushed his cart up to the large and magnificent-looking red train.

The Hogwarts Express.

It looks to run on steam, due to the white vapor that flows out of the exhaust on the engine, but Bruce wouldn't be surprised if it had some sort of magical motor like the Weasley family's car or Sirius Black's motorbike.

As Bruce is taking in the scenery, a loud voice calls out his name.

"Bruce!" Hermione yells as she rolls her cart up to him. "Don't just run ahead without me!"

"Sorry, I got a bit excited. Let's get on board and unload our luggage." Bruce says as he leads the way toward one of the many entrances to the train carriages.

As they were getting on board, Bruce could see a group of ginger-haired people crowding around one of the carriages. They seemed to be a lot more lively than most of the other families. Though what seemed like the mother quickly took control and admonished her children for making a ruckus.

'Weasleys Huh? I never really liked Ron, Percy, and the twins, but the rest seemed like good people. We'll see how they act in real life, I guess.' Bruce thought as he and Hermione carried their luggage on board and picked an empty compartment to unload it all.

Cinder, the cute and cuddly kitten, was fine sleeping anywhere so she slept on Bruce's lap as he took a seat in the compartment. Beira on the other hand was stuck in a cage and didn't look happy about it at all.

Bruce rarely puts her in a cage like this, but he didn't know how people would react to an uncaged bird entering a public train station.

"Do you want to fly to Hogwarts?" Bruce asked, knowing she wouldn't be able to last long in the cage. "You can just follow the train so you don't get lost."

Hearing Bruce's offer, Beira hooks her beak into the cage's door handle and lets herself out.

"I'll take that as a yes." Bruce chuckles as he opens the window and sets her free. "I'll see you at Hogwarts!"

Hermione watched the whole situation with jealous eyes. She wants a magical pet of her own so badly, but her parents couldn't rightly afford it after paying all of her school expenses. Her parents are well-off dentists, but the tuition and supplies she needed weren't cheap in the slightest.

'Maybe I'll talk them into getting me one next year.' Hermione thought as she eyes the sleeping Cinder with envy.

Crookshanks may enter Hogwarts a year before he did in the movies...

Soon after setting Beira free, the train began to leave the station, setting off towards Hogwarts.

Hermione, being the bookworm she is, immediately took out a book and started reading in silence.

Bruce wasn't surprised by this as she would do this a lot. Their friendship was built on quiet moments like this, so he took out a book as well and waited to see if things would happen similarly to how they happened in the movies.

Not long after thinking this, a knock was heard at the compartment door, and in came a worried-looking round-faced chubby boy.

'Neville Longbottom?' Bruce thought.

"Yes, can we help you?" Hermione says in a slightly snooty manner.

She hates it when people interrupt her reading time, so Bruce was surprised she was holding herself back so well.

'I guess she's nicer to strangers that commit these sins.' Bruce thought as he remembers a handful of times he did something similar and she was not so controlled as she is now.

"Uhh, w-well..." The boy tries to speak but Hermione seems to have scared him.

"I'm sorry for my friend. She has the manners of a chimpanzee. Do you need something?" Bruce says and receives a scathing look from Hermione, which is promptly ignored.

"Y-Yes, I was wondering if either of you happened to see a toad?" Neville stutters as he avoids eye contact with Hermione altogether. "His name is Trevor."

"Hmm, I can't say we have. Do you need help finding him?" Bruce asks.

"Umm, n-no thanks. It's okay, I'm sure I'll find him sooner or later." The pudgy boy answers as he nervously retreats into the hall, closing the door behind him.

"Good start at making friends Hermione?" Bruce asks with a small chuckle.

"Oh, shut up you!" She answers as she tosses her book aside and heads towards the door.

"What happened? I thought you were going to read?" Bruce smiles knowingly at her.

"I thought I told you to shut up." She says as she opens the door but stops for a moment. "What was the frog's name again?"

"..."

"Are you not going to answer me?" She asks in annoyance.

"I thought you wanted me to shut up?" Bruce answers with a challenging smile.

"You!" She exclaims as she walks into the hall and slams the door behind her.

Instantly, the door opens and Bruce peaks his head out.

"It's a toad and its name is Trevor!" He yells, receiving a thankful wave from Hermione. "Have fun making friends! Don't screw it up like you always do!"

"Shut up!" She yells back but the door has already closed, leaving her as the only one left in the hallway. 'How is that guy my only friend?'

Back in the compartment, Bruce was contemplating whether he should get involved with Harry Potter this early on. It would be easy to join his friend group, as he's an attention-starved and abused child, but doing so could bring him unwanted troubles.

Especially if Bruce is sorted into Slytherin, which is a definite possibility. His housemates wouldn't take kindly to a friend of Harry Potter in their ranks.

That does depend on if a muggle-born can even be sorted into Slytherin in the first place.

Not to mention the slew of dangers and enemies that would become his as well, if Bruce were to get too close to the walking trouble magnet that is Harry Potter.

Thinking it over for a bit, Bruce made up his mind.

(A/N: I delayed the poll for the female lead because there wasn't many patrons to vote at the time, but now we have a good amount. Whenever I wake up, so probably 12 hours from now give or take, a poll with names from the DC universe will be posted on patreòn. I'm not considering HP characters because I did that on my last story. Also, leave names of your fav DC characters here in case I miss them. Become a patron if you wish to vote. Bye)
