1 What is this 'copy' thingy?

"Argh! I wanna learn learn magic too!"

Claude shouted as he threw a tantrum in his bed.

A few weeks ago, he had transmigrated into this world of swords and magic. He was ecstatic at first as he daydreamed about becoming the God of Mages.

However, he later learned that he had no aptitude in magic!

Despite learning that he has no aptitude, he wasn't dejected.

In this world, there are two people with power: Mages and Essence Practitioners. The two are essentially the same, in whereby they use the world's energy to release power.

The only difference was that Essence Practitioners do not borrow the power like Mages, instead, they take the power as their own.

That apparently causes an imbalance in the world, therefore Essence Practitioners are punished should they advance a higher realm.

But even in Essence Arts, Claude found out that he was untalented! He thought that, since he was a traverser, he should have some sort of cheat. But alas, reality was far cruel than he thought.

"If I can't be either, then how the f*** can I survive!?" He suddenly thought of something much more scary.

Soon after he had transmigrated, he learned from his memories that, from time to time, a 'Beast Tide' would occur.

Although he hadn't experienced it before, he heard from other people that, once a beast tide occurs, countless lives will perish and the city or town will be destroyed.

He doesn't want to be a traverser who died from a mere beast tide! Nor does he want to simply die from old age!

That would be shameful to other traversers!

But...

A resigned sigh resounded in the room.

"I should go to work first." Claude muttered to himself.

He changed his clothes and quickly ran towards Myriad Kingdom's Magic Academy.

He doesn't doesn't have a high position in the school, nor does he work as a teacher. In fact, he was merely a janitor.

The Myriad Kingdom's Magic Academy is a public school built by the kingdom. Although it is not as prestigious as Aizen's Imperial Magic Academy or Runaan's Institute of Magic, everyone is satisfied.

After all, not everyone can go to those schools. The qualifications required is already scary enough, let's not even mention the tuition fee.

The Myriad Kingdom's School of Magic on the other hand isn't strict with their requirements. If one has aptitude in magic, they can directly become students. In other words, practically everyone who has aptitude in magic can apply to this school.

When Claude arrived, he immediately started working.

As he cleaned the floors, a row of students gushed out from the gate and entered the school. Claude felt overwhelmed when he first saw this scene, but he long got used to it.

He glanced at the students with a smile on his face. But in the next moment, his smile froze.

What's this!?

In front of him, basic information about the students were written.

[Innate Talents: None]

[Copy?]

...

Each and every students had this simple introduction in their body. Some of them even have a Innate Talents ranging from Earth-born, Fire-born, etc. But those can be counted on one's hand.

"Who would have thought that, in this average school, there would be people with Innate Talents..." Claude muttered to himself.

Obviously, Claude knew the weight of having Innate Talents. In his memories, he learned that people with Innate Talents can learn and chant spells of a certain element faster than those without.

For example, if a person is a Fire-born, he can learn and chant fire spells much faster than a person who isn't one. In addition, the power generated are also greatly increased. Same goes with Earth-borns, Water-borns, etc.

In prestigious schools such as Aizen's Imperial Magic Academy, they obviously don't lack students with Innate Talents. But don't forget that the Myriad Kingdom's Magic Academy is only a public school.

"But what's this 'copy' thingy?" Claude said silently in his heart, "I should click it; it doesn't hurt to try."

With that thought in mind, Claude pressed the copy button on an Earth-born student.

"Hm?" Claude's eyes widened

The moment he pressed the copy button, he instantly felt that his whole entirety became one with the earth. He felt that, with a wave of his hands, he can make everything related to earth follow his commands.

Furthermore, all kinds of knowledge related to earth magic was poured into his mind.

"What happened?" He got out of his daze and stared at his hands dumbly.

"How about... I try to conjure up a spell..." He muttered to himself.

Although he felt a sense of astonishment when all kinds of knowledge appeared in his mind, he quickly regained his composure.

However, before he could conjure up a spell, he was woken up by a voice.

"Uhm... Could you stand aside?"
