1 TOKYO

8:15 pm.

The slightly delayed flight had arrived at the bustling Tokyo International Airport.

Carrying his belongings, with his passport on his hand, Kai moved with the flow of the people looking gloomily.

After receiving his passport and other paperworks, Kai walked towards the exit of the airport. With no one waiting for him and his stomach growling, Kai had no choice but to look for a hotel and stop for a quick meal.

As he glanced at the unfamiliar surroundings with tons of people walking by and talking to each other happily, he felt a bit of sadness inside.

Kai took out his phone and went to Google Maps as he searched a place to stop by and eat warm food.

As the cold wind brush past him, Kai sighed and started walking in a certain direction.

After ten minutes of walking, Kai walked inside a building that has a "HOTEL" sign on it.

"Good evening sir, how may I help you?" the girl on the front desk asked him with her sloppy english.

"I want a room" Kai said with no hints of emotion. He once was cheerful, full og smiles and easy going until the incident happened.

"Taht will be 2,100 yen" The receptionist smiled and said showing her dimples.

After paying for a week's rent, Kai took the key from the receptionist and went to his room.

Money isn't a problem for Kai because as a pro, he made over a hundred thousand dollars from every tournament they won, so he has many savings in his bank account in which half of those savings wws exchanged for the Japanese currency, which is yen.

After putting down all his luggages, Kai took a deep breath and jumped to the bed.

"It's comfy" Kai said absent-mindedly.

After five minutes of lying in the bed, Kai took a shower, wore a set of clean clothes and went outside to eat.

...

Kai took a seat in a restaurant as he waited his order.

This restaurant was well known for it's delicious food. Many people were already sitting and enjoying their food while a line of people was outside waiting for their turn.

After five minutes, his food was now served.

Kai took the bowl and started using chopsticks to eat the noodles while also drinking the fragnant and aromatic soup.

Kai then indulged himself completely to the food and in no time finished it.

After returning to the hotel, he immediately went in to the bed entering the dreamland.

The sun gradually rose up from the horizon lighting up the Tokyo, which means the city will be busy again.

As light crept up on the eyes of Kai, he subconciously opened his eyes in annoyance.

"It's not even eight o'clock" Kai thought as he tossed and turn in his bed but still can't continue to sleep.

"Guess I'll explore the city then" Kai thought as he washed his face and got ready to leave.

After locking his room, he went outside and looked for a stall to have his breakfast.

After eating, Kai walked on the streets and eventually found an internet café which seems to be bustling with many people inside.

After entering, Kai saw ten people sitting across each other with five on each side while the others were watching on the back of each team, cheering occassionaly.

Kai actually studied Japanese before moving, so he can understand some words but he still isn't fluent in it.

Kai took a closer look and saw the game, he subconciously took a deep breath as memories of the past went into his mind.

...

As a kid, he played on the computer for hours and hours continously. At first, his parents didn't really mind it beacuse his grades are good. Unbeknownst to them, he was just copying answers from his classmates.

When he entered high school, as a fresman his addiction actually lessened but at the time he went to the second year, the passion ignited again as he decided to create a team on a game where everyone thought lowly of. A game where it was pretty much a walking meme, garbage.

With the newest updates and patches, the game began to transform as many players actually enjoyed it, and on top of that, Kai's team was countless levels above all of the players.

With the creation of the team, it was a new era of competitive esports.

They trashed every opponent and was at the pinnacle. They were at the top looking down on their opponents kneeling and admiring them.

They opened a pathway on a desolate wasteland.

....

Kai was watching the match absent-mindedly when a shout woke him from his daydream.

As he watched the match, a smile gradually rose into his mouth as he seriously watched the game which he hadn't seen for almost half a year.

"Good combo, but his hands are a bit slow."

"That's a trap"

"I thought so!"

"They're so easy to read"

While watching he can't keep himself from giving comments to analyzing the situations and sometimes giving praise to the opponents.

Even though he was famous, his name only was heard in the U.S. and not in Asia.

There was a saying that, "if you're good at something, an asian is always better than you."

"Good game" Kai said as he walked outside the internet café and went back to the hotel.

Raising his head while looking at the sun with the help of his fingers, "is it just me or the sun is shining brightly today?" Kai thought as he smiled and continued walking.
