New Maid

Running around for twentieth lap, Ren was doing a training to improve her stamina and endurance. While having a sparring with Leo last week, Ren noticed that the stamina of her body is good but not good enough to stand longer fights so she decided to train herself more.

While running for another lap, she saw her father talking to a man wearing an armored suit and this guy is probably a knight and one of her father's subordinates. Despite being a Marquess, Harris Lenxington is also a captain of a magic knight squad known as 'Azure Wolf'. Based from Ren's Diary, The Lenxington family's been serving the royal family and the country by being a loyal magic knight for generations. The 'real Ren' wanted to be a magic knight in admiration to her father so she begged her parents to let her train to be one. Ren's parents agreed so she started training swordsmanship.

To become a magic knight, everyone who wanted to be one is required to finish 3 years worth of studying in an academy. Usually they will start studying when they reached 15 years old or by the time they got their own magic.

After running for many laps, Ren was panting and her forehead have beads of sweat and some of it slid down to her face. She tried to catch her breath for a minute and reached out for the water and towel she prepared earlier to drink and wipe her face.

After resting for a while, Ren decided to change her clothes so she headed back inside and when she was near her room, she saw Rosalyn with an unfamiliar girl outside the door of her room waiting for someone.

'Hm? Why is Rosalyn outside my door and who's that girl with her?' Curious, Ren approached the two. When Rosalyn saw her, she bowed and the girl looked at her then copied her movements a little panicked and also bowed.

"Young master, today your mother hired a new maid to be your personal maid" Rosalyn looked at the new girl who is also wearing a victorian maid dress that's the same as her. "Oh, Rosalyn i thought you're my personal maid?" Ren said looking at Rosalyn who is shaking her head "Sorry young master but i'm not really your personal maid, i'm just assisting you sometimes but i also have other chores to do. Madam thought that maybe it'll be better for you to have your own personal maid who'll always be by your side to assist you" Rosalyn said with slight sadness in her eyes for a moment, Ren noticed it but was confused.

Ren looked at the new maid that's a half a head shorter than her, her pink hair was shoulder length and her amber eyes looked dazzling with long curly eyelashes. The girl looked anxious but she slightly opened her mouth "I-I'm Ain Xavier...And i-i will do my best to serve young master!" the girl bowed and while she's bowing down, Ren saw Ain's ears that's tainted Red. Ren thought that the girl was cute and amusing so she smiled and laughed softly.

"Don't be nervous and you don't need to be formal with me." Ain slowly looked up and saw the gentle smile on Ren's face, while looking at those smile, she slightly felt something in her heart but she couldn't explain what it was. "Also, I'm looking forward to being with you" Ren said while looking at Ain's face that was red in embarrassment "Thank you young master Ren..." Ren nodded in satisfaction.

Rosalyn who was watching at the interaction between the two and decided not to interfere nor say a word "..."

Ren told Ain that she wanted to know her more so she brought Ain and went to the pavilion in the garden. When they reached the pavillion, Rosalyn prepared everything and bowed before leaving. Ren went to her sit, Ain was still hesitant but Ren kept on insisting.

On the table there's a teapot with tea inside and two teacups placed in a small plate. Ren lift the teacup and sipped the tea, she was sitting on a chair and opposite her seat was Ain who still looked nervous, the girl was looking down at the teacup while trying to avoid eye contact with the other person.

Ren's silver bluish hair on the front was slightly blocking her vision so she used her left hand to slid her hair and tuck it back. She looked at the girl who's avoiding her gaze "So Ain, Tell me about yourself". Ain looked at Ren for a while but immediately looked down "Uhm...When i was just a baby, My parents left me in front of the orphanage so i grew up in an orphanage...When i was just 10 i ran away from the orphanage because there were older kids who also lived there who's always hurting and tormenting me..." Ain slightly clenched her fist.

"When i ran away from the orphanage i tried to look for a job to live and have food to eat but...because i was too young nobody accepted me. Thankfully there's a kind lady who owns a small bakery who took me in and took good care of me. She treat me like her real daughter and i saw her as my mother figure but sadly last month she passed away...Because i am not really her real child, her sister took my mother figure's house and bakery, she also chased me out of the house saying that i shouldn't be there" While telling her story, Ain's eyes started to became watery "I don't know how am i gonna live or where will i go...I'm alone again, when i was about to lose hope and was about to jump the bridge, a carriage stopped nearby and a woman stopped me from jumping and that woman was your mother young master Ren" Ain smiled but her tears started to slid down to her face "She asked me what am i doing, i told her everything then she told me that she had a child who's just the same age as me and offered me to become your personal maid-" before she could even finished speaking she felt a hand touching above her head. Ain looked up to Ren who is gently smiling at her. While looking at Ren, she was tearing up, her face looked like a rabbit, it looks cute and fragile that makes people want to protect.

"It must've been hard hm?" Ren kept on patting the girls head and gave Ain her handkerchief. The girl hesitantly accepted her handkerchief and wiped her tears.

Ren stood up and pulled her hand away. She walked to Ain's side then she slightly bend her knee to hug Ain who's sitting on the chair. Ain was slightly taken aback by the sudden hug and couldn't react. Ren gently patted her head while hugging her "You won't be alone anymore Ain, You have me and i'll be your friend". Ain's eyes started to become wet again, she hesitantly hugged Ren back then she buried her face in her shoulder and started to cry. Ren just kept on patting her head gently with a soft and gentle smile on her face.

Ren felt sad for Ain and wanted to comfort her. In her past life, just like Ain, she also doesn't have parents or family growing up. An organization raised her to become someone she didn't wished to become. Her life was miserable and sad to the point she felt like she turned into a killing machine. Even though she became a person who seems like who didn't care about anything, she still have human feelings and didn't completely turn into an emotionless person, Infact the money that she gained from being a hitman was being donated to different orphanges to help other kids who also doesn't have parents like her.

After calming down, Ain was looking at Ren's wet shoulder. Her face felt hot and it was red in embarrassment, she looked down and murmured "Sorry..." her voice was small but it was enough for Ren to hear.

"Pfft-" Ren looked at her and laughed softly "No need to apologize Ain, it's okay and don't be embarrassed" Ren gently held Ain's chin to make her look up to her "We're already friends alright?" Ren smiled brightly. Looking at her bright smile, Ain felt her heart skip a beat and her face blushed even harder. The girl cannot respond for a while but she nodded with an 'um' sound and then she looked down still feeling embarrassed. Ren pulled her hand away and patted the girls head while laughing softly.

It was already sunday and today is such a good day for a walk outside but Ren is currently in the library reading books. After reincarnating into her current body, Ren read about magic and other information about this world. Right now Ren is reading about the history of the continent where she's at.

In this world there are four different continents and each continent is believed to have one kingdom. The first continent was called 'Fura', this continent was the place where the demon or demon king lives. It is also said that the King in that continent summons people from another world to defeat the demon king.

The second continent was called 'Shura', this continent was a place full of people who does not use magic but uses aura and martial arts techniques instead of magic and it is said that aura is neither superior nor inferior to magic.

The third continent was called 'Lura', Nobody knows what's in that place but it was believed that this is the place where fallen gods and goddesses resides. Everyone who tried to visit this continent failed and have never returned till this day.

The fourth continent and the continent where Ren lives was called 'Zura'. Zura is a country similar to Fura but what makes it different was that the legend that there was a dragon protecting this continent and it was currently resting in the deep ocean.

In Zura, the royal family who reigns the people for generations was the Alarick family. The current king right now was a wise and smart king. He had a son who's next in throne and two younger daughters who's blessed by the goddess to have extraordinary healing abilities.

After reading the book, Ren placed the book back to it's shelf then took another book to read.
