Throughout the short few seconds of being dragged across the street, along the way, he managed to notice quite a few frog heads. It was fair to say that he ended up being quite amazed by them.

This strange species of frogs, carried a row of big and pointy teeth on them, it was interesting. The rest of their bodily features resembled that of a human's, which made them seem all the more interesting and terrifying too, they even walked upright. There was something really scary about human-sized frogs!

He wanted to take a moment to ponder everything that he was seeing, but there were other issues at hand. The frogs who were dragging him around, lacked mercy!

Once they dragged him into that alleyway, they then tossed him on the harsh, stone-road, on the same material which covered most of these streets. The landing was anything but comfortable, because stone roads weren't always smooth, they had bumps and edges that would be really painful to land on!

"Fucking hell," Steve cussed inwardly.

Things couldn't get any more real than this, and yet, they did. He suddenly felt a shocking, and burning pain right near his spine!

It took bullshit and a half to endure this pain, and regardless of how Steve was a bit disoriented at the moment, he could guess that these guys had stabbed him, for whatever reason! They were horrid men.

He had no idea why he got stabbed. However, considering that the attacker was a froggy abomination, Steve didn't expect a reasonable explanation. He just felt really unlucky!

Finally though, one of these attackers spoke out. "This was just a warning, asshole!"

Steve turned around and faced them, and the first thing he noticed were the slightly curled swords on their hands. One of those weapons was covered with blood, so now at least he knew which frog stabbed him!

He locked eyes with this frog, and tried to ask a question or two. However, the pain he was feeling, insisted on knocking him out, so he was quickly stripped of any logical thoughts!

At that moment, the same attacker suddenly sprung forward. He kicked Steve across the face, only once and viciously! Unfortunately, the pain accumulated above what he could handle, so Steve just laid there, and gave up entirely. He was waiting for death, a second death to be exact.

He was done for, and after that kick, even the attackers left swiftly. They didn’t want to get caught near a dying body, but as for the intent behind their attack, it hadn't been for nothing!

As they were leaving, one of them whispered. "Ten gold bars, cunt! You know what you owe, and you know where to bring them… Don’t make us wait any longer, we have someone you love, so don't put her innocence at risk."

"Fuck you…" Steve whispered.

He had no idea what those attackers were talking about. He didn't owe anything to anyone, and they certainly couldn't have kidnapped his human daughter, no. Nothing made sense, and things got even more confusing, because he still associated his past, human life with this new and current one. He hasn't caught up yet.

Steve wouldn't know if he owed money to anyone in this world, he didn’t know these frogs! He didn’t know any froggy names, either of friends or family members, so everything about this world was all the more confusing!

He didn't know who to turn to. Not that it would matter now, as he was quite close to death. Just then, he started hearing voices in his head again!

It said, [I see that you're confusing your old life with your new one, Steve. Let me make some things clear for you… you’re not a human anymore, but instead, you are the new owner of this frogezoid body. The past owner had died because of a heart attack, and now, your soul floats within it.]

While Steve tried to figure out if this voice was real or a hallucination, it continued sounding out in his head. [The memories of the past body owner will slowly appear in your head, which is helpful. You'll remember who your friends are in this new world, family too.]

"Oh… as if that'll matter. My mom will stab me too or something." Steve joked inwardly, while his wound continued to bleed out. "It would be nice to have a mom again, though, haven't had one in two decades."

[You may have a mother, or you may not. If you survive, we'll figure it out.] The voice said, and then added. [As for your prior concerns about violence, you do have a point. The frogs here aren't so nice, most of them across the whole continent are horribly mean. You're in the country of Firestone right now, which is an inherently barbaric place, and its surrounding neighbors aren't better off either.]

Steve was not entertained, but at least he understood the surroundings a bit better now. He didn’t even feel unlucky about being stabbed, as he guessed that everyone here was stabbing each other.

Though, he still thought that this was a stupid way to die. From what he understood, the past body owner of this frogezoid body he was in, had likely gotten into feome debt, for whatever reason. This was not a good reason to die over.

The unbearable pain that coated his back was almost crippling. He could barely move, the dust and tiny rocks on the road were irritating his wound, and he was soaked in his own blood. He was beyond miserable!

Steve wanted to stand up and look for help, but he couldn’t. He was stripped out of energy, and could barely even talk, nonetheless walk. This may be the end, and there was nothing he could do about it!

Right then, the voice in his head reappeared. She came back with some recommendations that may or may not help Steve survive.

She said, [You have to crawl out of here, and look for help. You need a potion to seal that wound of yours immediately, or else, you won't make it! Careful though, don't drink the cheap stuff, or your wound will get inflamed.]
