23 chapter 23: All ends there.

Nicolas sprinted straight towards Rolo during his race he shot two arrows at his opponent. But Rolo didn't seem to pay attention to Nicolas, he didn't even avoid the arrows and continued his race towards Brutus. Rolo received an arrow in his left shoulder and another in his right leg, he didn't scream, he just looked at Brutus in a terrifying way.

Brutus looked Rolo in the eyes with a wide smile. "Come here and watch your friend die." As Brutus finished his sentence he closed his fist, stone spikes appeared on the dome and then sank inside. A scream was heard and blood began to flow under the dome, staining the white snow. Brutus was laughing, he seemed so happy. "I'm not dying alone, I'm going with all of you. " Brutus looked at Rolo in a provocative way.

Rolo had seen what had happened to Ragnar, he knew he was dead. But he didn't have time to feel sorry for his brother, he had to avenge him, avenge him, take revenge, kill them. He rushed even faster towards Brutus, forgetting the pain he felt in his leg. A tear ran from his right eye.

But before Rolo reached Brutus Nicholas came between the two. Nicolas was holding an arrow in his right hand. He tried to plant it in Rolo's throat, but he didn't have time to, Rolo pulled out his sword and sliced Nicolas' left flank. Nicolas fell to the ground, he had been too much in a hurry and too confident. How could an archer armed only with an arrow have defeated a knight with a mana heart. Nicolas had his eyes wide open but they seemed empty, a smile was engraved on his face, yet his body was split into two parts. He died trying to protect his sidekicks. Died in an absurd way like his life as a vagabond.

Brutus saw Nicolas' body split in two and shouted " NOOOOOOO!! ". Brutus' eyes lost the provocative areas, he turned brown. Even more stone levitated around him, suddenly he shouted. "Go to hell." A huge peak made of stone coming out of the ground. He headed straight for Rolo, who was less than a meter from Brutus.

Rolo had neither the time to avoid and nor even the time to attack Brutus. The huge piece of stone impaled him at the stomach. It was thrown at least 10 meters until the stone peak was planted in a tree. Rolo's body was nailed to a tree, vomiting blood. Rolo looked at the dome where his brother Ragnar had died, he cried and regretted his actions, he would have wanted to live. Then he turned his head and his last vision was to see Prometheus crawling towards the divine water source "Band... "Rolo's path was weak but before he finished his sentence he died.

Facing Brutus looked at him with a faint smile, then he closed his eyes and fell into a deep sleep.( A real sleep XD, he's not dead.)

Prometheus' vision was blurred, he no longer had any notion of time and space. "How much distance do I have remaining, one meter two meters? And how many have I done? How much time do I have left?' Prometheus was asking himself questions he was afraid to die a second time, he didn't want to waste the chance he had. Prometheus had long reflected on the reason for his return to life and he had found no answer, since he no longer wanted to take any risks, he wanted to live this life fully as if it were his last. Prometheus used all the determination and hope he had left for using his strength. He crawled faster and faster, he was closer and closer to the divine source. But Prometheus was also getting closer and closer to his death.

Prometheus stopped, he had no strength left, he was cold as in his last moments against Throène. Prometheus was crying, he was so angry:

- Why did this world make him suffer so much.

- Why did he have to die again?

-Why was he so helpless in the face of his fate?

- Why did all the people he loved make him suffer?

- And why couldn't he get revenge?

Prometheus was full of rage and questioning but everything was over, he had no strength, his body was no longer moving. Prometheus' right hand, which was still stretched out towards the sky as if trying to catch something elusive, fell to the ground. But...

Nostradamus and Rajnish walked the corridors of the state police headquarters. It was a large place with white walls, the corridors were generally crowded with active agents running. But there it was different Nostradamus and Rajnish was on the 9th floor.

The 9th floor was a rather quiet place known as the place to prepare for numerical rank interventions. (Yes, I know you're wondering, but what is a numerical intervention?)

In the state police there was a method for ranking agents but also missions that was quite practical. First there were the Alphabetical Missions. The difficulty of these missions was always associated with a letter of the alphabet. Following this order from the easiest to the most difficult: C-B-A-S-SS-SSS. There were also missions with grades E and F but these missions were reserved for the regional police. To make an alphabetical mission it was necessary that the assigned agent: was either alone but with a rank at least 2 letters higher than the mission, or that he was part of a team whose members were at most 2 letters lower than the mission's one. This way of recording missions was the same for mercenaries.

Then after the alphabetical missions he had the numerical missions. The numerical missions were of a different style, much harder and rarer. The numerical missions were also classified according to their difficulty. Ranging from 10 000 to 100, this number was not chosen at random, to make a mission of 10 000 rank you had to be one of the 10 000 strongest people in the kingdom ( This is already huge, knowing that the kingdom has about 400 million inhabitants, like the USA.)

Basically neither Nostradamus nor Rajnish couldn't do a numerical mission but the intervention mission of the Red King's leader was of unprecedented importance, it was more important than it was hard. Nostradamus knew this and that's why he wanted to succeed in this mission at all costs. He could be promoted and become the youngest Chief Inspector of State of all time.

Nostradamus had therefore chosen to meet each member of his team for the smooth running of his mission. At first glance, this initiative could seem quite kind and sociable. But in reality it was a Nostradamus plan to get rid of the traitors before they acted.

Rajnish Nostradamus stood in front of the entrance of the meeting room, he shook hands of all his mission colleagues before the meeting began. He had kindly complimented each other between handshakes, but it was only the calm before the storm.
