Side Story 05: Thwee Kisses

[Timeline: Chapter 41-60]
Butler Tang sat in his room, doing some paperwork. Soon, he heard the door open and a pair of small footsteps approached him. Daiyu crawled onto his lap and cupped his cheeks, making him face her.
"Uncle Tang." She called.
"Mmm?"
"Uncle Tang, Daiyu has – has meeting at school."
"Oh? What kind of meeting?"
Daiyu slowly got down from his lap and ran out of his room. Moments later, she ran back inside holding a piece of paper. She then handed it to him.
Butler Tang inspected the letter and found out that it was a parent-teacher meeting.
"Let's give this to your grandfather." He said.
Daiyu shook her head.
"Uncle Tang, Teacher Peng said that – that we need to bring our pawents."
Butler Tang nodded.
"Yes. We'll ask your grandfather to go."
Daiyu shook her head again.
"Grandpaw is Daiyu's grandpaw. So Daiyu wrote Uncle Tang's name."
"… You wrote my name as your parent?"
Daiyu nodded.
Butler Tang inspected the paper again and saw 'Uncle Tang' written at the part where the parent's name is supposed to be written.
"Uncle Tang is Daiyu's second daddy!" She claimed with a big smile on her face.
Butler Tang paused. He didn't know how to react to such a declaration.
Daiyu furrowed her brows in worry.
"Uncle Tang doesn't want to be Daiyu's second daddy?" She asked as she tilted her head to one side.
"No… No, Xiao Yu I… I am more than happy to be your father…"
Daiyu smiled and crawled back onto his lap.
"Then Uncle Tang has to stay with Daiyu forever."
He chuckled.
"Owkay?"
"Okay."
"Pwomise Daiyu!" She raised her pinky and Butler Tang hooked his finger onto hers.
"Promise."
Daiyu giggled happily.
"Daiyu will be with Uncle Tang forever too!"
"Really?"
Daiyu nodded.
"Uncle Tang, when – when grandpaw fires you, Daiyu will hire you instead."
Butler Tang chuckled.
"Really?"
Daiyu nodded.
"Then how much will you pay me?"
Daiyu paused to think.
"Thwee kisses." She said as she raised three of her chubby fingers.
Butler Tang chuckled.
"Just three?"
Daiyu paused again.
"Five kisses." She raised five fingers.
"Just five?"
Daiyu pouted.
"Uncle Tang is so expensive!" She puffed her cheeks, furrowed her brows, and placed her hands on her hips.
Butler Tang laughed heartily.
"Then I'll give you a discount."
Daiyu's eyes widened in excitement.
"Really? How much?" She asked.
"For you, I'll always be free." He replied as he looked at her warmly before kissing her forehead.
Daiyu cupped his cheeks with her little hands before shaking her head.
"Uncle Tang is too pwecious to be fwee!"
Butler Tang's eyes slowly started to water at her answer. His heart was full of her warmth.
"Daiyu will treasure Uncle Tang forever!" She said as she peppered his face with light kisses.
Butler Tang chuckled.
"Forever?"
Daiyu nodded.
"Forever! Daiyu will take care of Uncle Tang when Daiyu grows up! Daiyu will make sure that – that Uncle Tang is always happy." She smiled, her chubby cheeks slightly blushing.
"… Thank you, Xiao Yu." Butler Tang gently kissed her forehead and she giggled.
"Uncle Tang, love you! Love you vewy much!"

Side Story 06: Daiyu Cuwency

[Timeline: Before Chapter 44]
Daiyu had been working hard all afternoon building a castle out of her wooden blocks. When she was almost complete with her project, she accidentally tripped on one of its foundations and the entire thing collapsed. Frustrated and angry at the loss, she tossed the blocks and kicked them aside, huffing in anger.
Butler Tang who saw the episode, approached her and bent down to her eye level.
"Xiao Yu, what's wrong? It's not good to throw a tantrum like that."
"Daiyu is – is angwy!" She said as she bit her lip, her brows furrowed, and her eyes teary.
She was really upset that all her hard work had gone to waste so easily like that.
"Then let's count to help you calm down, okay?" Butler Tang said as he held her little hand.
"One..." He started.
"Wan…" Daiyu copied him.
"Two…"
"Too…"
"Three…"
"Thwee…"
"Four…"
"For…"
"Five…" Butler Tang smiled.
"Five…" Daiyu finished.
"Still angry?" He asked as he gently stroked her hair.
Daiyu held up her pointer finger and her thumb.
"A little bit."
He chuckled at her honesty. He then carried her in his arms and stood up.
"No more. Angry no more." Butler Tang coaxed her.
Daiyu pouted but joined him.
"No more. Angwy no more." She copied and he smiled.
He then kissed each of her chubby cheeks.
"Xiao Yu is prettiest when she's happy."
Daiyu looked down.
"Daiyu – Daiyu will work hard to be happy."
"Mmm." He nodded and gently stroked her hair.
"It's okay to be angry for a little bit. But you have to let it go soon. Otherwise, it will eat you up inside."
"Like – like a monster?" She asked as she tilted her head to one side.
"Mmm." He nodded.
"A monster that eats away your happiness."
Daiyu paused to think.
"Daiyu doesn't like monsters." She shook her head and he nodded.
"Then Xiao Yu must remember to always let her anger go. Life is too short to waste on being angry."
"Life – life is too short to waste on being angwy." She copied.
"Mmm. Good girl." He then gently kissed her forehead and Daiyu rested her head on his shoulder.

A few days after that, Daiyu accidentally broke a vase while playing. As such, Butler Tang scolded her for not being careful.
"But Uncle Tang, you said that life is too short to waste on being angwy! So you can't – you can't be angwy at Daiyu!" She pouted, her cheeks puffed, brows furrowed, and her hands on her hips.
Butler Tang bit his lip, trying to suppress his laughter.
"Uncle Tang can't get angwy at Daiyu! Uncle Tang's job is – is to love Daiyu."
"Really? I didn't know that was in the job description." He chuckled.
Daiyu didn't understand what he meant but she nodded vigorously.
"Uncle Tang has to love Daiyu thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiis much every day!" She said as she stretched her arms as far as they could go.
"And what happens if I don't love you that much?" He asked, indulging her.
"Uncle Tang doesn't get paid! Daiyu will tell on grandpaw." She threatened and he laughed.
"And if I love you more than that?"
"Uncle Tang gets a waise!!!"
He laughed heartily at her answer.
"Then I should work hard and love Xiao Yu a lot."
Daiyu nodded vigorously.
"Lots lots lots lots!!!"

That night, Butler Tang woke up upon hearing his bedroom door open. When he saw Daiyu creeping quietly inside, he pretended to be asleep. Daiyu walked over to him and placed something on his bed. She then swept his hair to one side before planting a soft kiss on his forehead.
"Sleep well, Uncle Tang. Daiyu will love you tomorrow too!" She whispered and smiled, her chubby cheeks blushing. She then tiptoed out of his room and quietly closed the door.
When she had gone, Butler Tang got up to check what she had left. There were three pieces of paper on his bed, drawn like money. On it was written 'Daiyu Cuwency.' He laughed.
"What does this buy, I wonder?"

Side Story 07: Long Yellow chick

[Timeline: Chapter 41-60]
Wang Jing shifted in his sleep. He felt something terribly heavy on his chest and he found it hard to breath.
He finally opened his eyes and saw a lump beneath his blanket. He lifted the sheet up and was greeted by a smiling Daiyu, her chubby cheeks slightly blushing.
"Surprise!" She giggled.
Wang Jing laughed. Surprise indeed.
Daiyu crawled out from the sheets and peppered his face with light kisses before resting her head on his chest.
Wang Jing hugged her tightly while he gently stroked her hair.
"Grandpaw, Daiyu wants to sleep with you tonight."
"Okay." He nodded.
Daiyu lifted her head to look at him.
"Grandpaw, when is – when is your next holiday?" She asked, tilting her head to one side.
"Mmm? What's the matter?"
"Daiyu wants to play!"
He chuckled.
"Then let's play tomorrow."
"Really?!"
He nodded and smiled upon seeing her face full of excitement.
Daiyu immediately got up and started jumping in the bed out of joy. He laughed heartily.
"Grandpaw! Daiyu wants to go to the zoo!" She said as she crawled her way to him.
"Okay." He nodded.
"Let's have your Jin-gege join us too."
Daiyu shook her head.
"Daiyu wants to be with grandpaw only! No other boys allowed!"
He chuckled.
"Alright. Then tomorrow, we'll go to the zoo!"

The next day, the twins dressed Daiyu up in a little yellow chick onesie. It had a padded butt so it looks like she waddles every time she walks.
"Grandpaw!"
"Mmm?"
"Daiyu can't sit properly because – because, Daiyu's butt is too big!" She complained with a pout as they sat inside the car.
Wang Jing laughed and carried her in his arms to sit on his lap. Daiyu smiled and rested her head on his chest.
After a few more minutes, they finally arrived at their destination.

Wang Jing was greatly amused as he watched Daiyu waddle through the zoo. The other visitors found her very cute as well. She walked around while holding his hand as they visited the animals.
"Grandpaw!" Daiyu jumped up and down with her arms outstretched.
Wang Jing picked her up and she wrapped her arms around his neck. She then turned her head to look at the lions in their den.
"Big kitty!" She said as she pointed towards it.
Just then, the lion roared loudly. Daiyu watched in awe, her mouth gaping open.
"Rawr!" She copied.
Wang Jing chuckled.
"Let's go and visit the fishes next." Wang Jing suggested and Daiyu nodded.
Upon arriving at the aquarium, Daiyu plastered her face against the glass wall.
"Yummy!" She said as she eyed the different fishes in the tank.
Wang Jing laughed heartily at her comment.
"Are you hungry, Xiao Yu?" He asked.
"Daiyu is – Daiyu is always hungwy." She pouted as she rubbed her round tummy.
Wang Jing laughed even harder. He then picked her up and kissed her chubby cheeks.
"It's okay. A growing baby needs to eat a lot!"
Daiyu nodded vigorously.
"Daiyu needs to eat a lot! Daiyu wants – wants to grow looooooong like a giraffe!"
Wang Jing laughed.
"What will you do once you've grown like a giraffe?"
"Peek at Uncle Chang's cooking!" She said excitedly.
Wang Jing laughed. Daiyu's current hobby was to watch the chef prepare their meals. Since the kitchen counter was too high for her, she would bring a chair over and stand on it while she watched him stir the pot.
"Grandpaw!"
"Mmm?"
"Thank you for – for today's date!"
He smiled.
"Thank you too, Xiao Yu. You make grandpa very happy."
"Really?"
"Mmm! This yellow chick brightens up grandpa's day!"
"Then – then Daiyu will become a looooooong yellow chick for grandpaw!"
He laughed before peppering her face with light kisses.
"Then I will look forward to it!"

Side Story 08: Weady!

[Timeline: Chapter 41-60]
Butler Tang stood inside his room, packing his bags on his bed. Just then, he heard the door open and a pair of footsteps approached him. He then felt two small arms wrap around his leg.
"Uncle Tang!"
He looked down and saw Daiyu rubbing her face against his leg while giggling happily. He smiled.
"Hello, Xiao Yu."
"Uncle Tang! Daiyu has come to visit you~"
He chuckled. They just saw each other for dinner a while ago.
Daiyu then took a peek at what he was doing.
"Uncle Tang? What are you doing?" She asked.
"I'm packing my bags. I'll be going on a holiday."
Daiyu paused and stared as his hands continued packing away his clothes. She then ran out of the room.
Moments later, she came back with her bunny stuffed toy and a small red bag on her back. She climbed onto his bed before crawling into his luggage.
"Daiyu is weady! Uncle Tang, let's go! Holiday!"
Butler Tang bit his lip to suppress his laugh.
"Xiao Yu, you want to join me?"
Daiyu nodded vigorously.
"Daiyu wants to be with Uncle Tang always!"

The next day, Wang Jing watched as Butler Tang carried Daiyu with one hand while pulling his luggage with the other. They were both dressed in Hawaiian print shirts with matching shades.
"Tang Yun, you don't have to force yourself to bring her along. Just leave her here and go take a holiday on your own to relax."
Daiyu pouted.
"Grandpaw is a big meanie!"
Butler Tang chuckled.
"It's fine, Master Wang. I don't mind."
"Are you sure? Just let her cry a bit and she'll forget about it soon."
"Grandpaw!!!"
Butler Tang laughed and gently kissed Daiyu's chubby cheek.
Daiyu smiled and kissed his cheek back.
"Uncle Tang won't leave Daiyu! Uncle Tang loves – loves Daiyu!"

The pair soon left the Wang Mansion and arrived at the airport. After a six-hour flight, they finally made it to their getaway island.
Butler Tang took Daiyu to their room where they unloaded their bags before having dinner by the beachside restaurant. There, Daiyu ate heartily as Butler Tang shelled some seafood for her.
"Aaaaah!" She called as she held up a piece of fish to his lips.
Butler Tang opened his mouth and ate it.
Daiyu then ate a piece for herself. After that, she took another piece and held it up to his lips.
"Aaaaah!"
Butler Tang ate it.
"Xiao Yu, it's alright. You can have the fish for yourself."
Daiyu shook her head.
"Daiyu loves fish! But Daiyu loves – loves Uncle Tang more."
Butler Tang smiled.
"I love you too, Xiao Yu."
Daiyu smiled, her chubby cheeks blushing.
"Aaaaaah!"
Just like that, she continued to feed him.

For the next three days, the pair had fun together.
While Butler Tang swam, Daiyu stayed on the shore, cheering him on. After that, he would lay on the sand as Daiyu built a sandcastle beside him.
During the afternoons, they would take naps together. Daiyu would crawl into his arms and snuggle him to sleep. When they woke up, they'd eat ice cream as they watched the sunset together.
"Uncle Tang."
Butler Tang looked down at Daiyu who was currently sitting on his lap.
"Daiyu loves holiday."
"Me too." He smiled.
"Again?" She asked as she tilted her head to one side.
He nodded.
"Let's go on a holiday again next year."
Daiyu smiled.
"Next year! And next next year! And next next next –
Butler Tang chuckled.
"Forever!" She giggled happily.
"Uncle Tang is stuck with Daiyu forever!"
