Side Story 01: Honey-gege
[Timeline: Chapter 71-80]
Liu Jin slowly opened the door to his dorm room with a sigh. He got inside, kicked off his boots, and headed straight for the bath.
After having a quick cold shower, he went to the fridge and downed a cold glass of water. He then sat on his bed and took the picture by the bedside table.
He smiled.
He put it back on the table and closed the lights. He covered himself with a blanket before hugging his little wolf to sleep.
That night, he had a beautiful dream.
"Jin-gege! Jin-gege!"
Liu Jin groggily opened his eyes and what greeted him had him smiling widely. Baby Daiyu was on top of him, her chubby cheeks raised in a smile.
"Hehe!" She giggled as she covered her mouth with her little hands.
"Good morning, Xiao Yu."
Daiyu bent down and softly kissed his forehead.
"Morning Jin-gege!" She beamed.
He smiled.
"Let's go! Let's go!" She began pulling him up from the bed.
"Mmm? Where to?"
"Daiyu wants to play!"
"Okay. But we have to freshen up and eat breakfast first."
Daiyu pouted but nodded.
"Owkay." She then raised her arms, asking to be picked up.
Liu Jin carried her and brought her to the bathroom.
After they finished getting ready, they went down to have breakfast.
"Good morning grandpaw!" Daiyu greeted Wang Jing with a soft kiss to his cheek.
"Morning Xiao Yu." He smiled.
"Good morning, Grandfather Wang."
"Mmm." Wang Jing gently ruffled Liu Jin's hair.
They sat around the table and began eating.
"Jin-gege!" Daiyu handed him a slice of toast smothered in cream and honey.
"Thanks, Xiao Yu."
Daiyu nodded and made another one for Wang Jing.
"Grandpaw!"
Wang Jing took it with a smile.

After breakfast, Daiyu went to play with Liu Jin in her playhouse by the garden.
"What shall we play, Xiao Yu?" Liu Jin asked as he held Daiyu's little hand in his.
"House! Jin-gege play house with Daiyu! Jin-gege will be Daiyu's husband!"
"Okay."
"Then Jin-gege needs to go to work now. Earn money for Daiyu!" She ordered.
Liu Jin nodded and obediently climbed inside Daiyu's pink car.
"Then I'll be going to work now, Xiao Yu."
"Buhbye!" Daiyu bent down and kissed his cheek softly.
"Daiyu will make you delicious food! Come home soon!" She waved and Liu Jin drove off.
He drove around the garden for about five minutes before returning back to Daiyu's playhouse with a bouquet of flowers.
"Beep, beep." He called.
Daiyu came running out of her playhouse and tackled him in a tight hug.
"Welcome home Jin-gege!!!" She peppered his face with kisses and he giggled.
"Xiao Yu, I'm your husband now. You can't keep calling me Jin-gege."
"Then what shall Daiyu call you?" She asked as she tilted her head to one side.
"Honey, or Love, or just Jin is fine."
"Honey! Daiyu loves Honey!"
He laughed.
"Okay then, Honey it is."
Daiyu then dragged him inside the playhouse where she asked him to sit on the table. She then went into the kitchen and brought out a plastic rotisserie chicken.
"Dinner is weady!"
"Yum!" Liu Jin played along.
However, instead of sitting on a separate seat, Daiyu climbed onto his lap instead.
"Jin-gege feed Daiyu!"
He laughed.
"I thought you said you were going to call me Honey?"
Daiyu paused.
"Honey-gege!"
He laughed.
"That's not how it works, Xiao Yu." He lightly pinched her cheeks and she giggled.
After finishing their dinner, Daiyu dragged him upstairs where they went to bed.
"Honey-gege, read Daiyu a story!"
Liu Jin scratched his head.
'Well, I guess this is fine too.'
He then read her the story of Little Red Riding Hood.
"Why did the hunter kill the wolf?" Daiyu pouted.
"Because he ate the grandma."
"But Daiyu likes the wolf!"
"Eh? Why?"
"Daiyu wants to marry the wolf!"
He laughed.
"Then Jin-gege will be a wolf for you."
Daiyu paused before nodding.
"Owkay. Honey-gege will be Daiyu's wolf." She gently kissed his cheek and giggled.
He smiled and tucked away a stray hair behind her ear.
"Xiao Yu, do you really want to marry your Jin-gege?"
Daiyu nodded.
"Daiyu wants to be with Honey-gege always! Daiyu will grow up big! So Daiyu's heart will grow big too! And then, Daiyu will keep Honey-gege inside Daiyu's heart forever!"
A beautiful smile bloomed on Liu Jin's face and he bent down to kiss her forehead.
"Me too. I'll keep you in my heart forever, Xiao Yu."
Daiyu nodded.
"Pwomise?"
"Promise."
"Hehe." She giggled.
"Honey-gege, Daiyu will always love you!"
"Really?"
Daiyu nodded.
"Daiyu is here." She pointed towards his heart.
"Daiyu belongs here." She smiled.
"Mmm." He smiled back.
"So Honey-gege, hurry up and finish twaining! Return to Daiyu! Daiyu will be waiting."
Liu Jin paused before nodding.
"Mmm! I'll work hard."
Soon, light started flooding into the room and Liu Jin woke up from his dream. He opened his eyes and was greeted by the morning sun.
He stretched his arms, kissed the little wolf's head before going to the bathroom to freshen up.
After wearing his uniform and fixing his hair, he returned to fix the bed. He then took the photo by the bedside table and gave it a soft kiss.
"Honey-gege will work hard today too, Xiao Yu. Wait for me. I'll be home soon."
He smiled and returned it to the table. He then took his bag and left the room.

Back at the Wang Mansion, Daiyu woke up from her peaceful slumber. She stretched and yawned before getting out of bed. She then went to the bathroom and got changed.
After freshening up, she returned to her bed where she picked up the little bunny from her bed. She kissed it and placed it beside the picture frame on her bedside table. She stared at the picture for a while before smiling.
"Work hard for me, my handsome wolf."
She then turned around, picked up her bag and left her room.
