At the hospital, the doctors quickly treated Daiyu's wounds. Luckily, the cuts were not too deep but a few shards of glass had embed themselves onto her palm so they had to remove them.
Daiyu put on a brave face the entire time. While a few tears would roll down her chubby cheeks from time to time, she would sniff and blink the rest away.
"What a good girl." The doctors praised her as they tended to her wounds.
Daiyu nodded.
"Daiyu is a good girl." She claimed.
Butler Tang chuckled and gently patted her head. He stayed with her the entire time, never leaving her side.

Meanwhile, Qiaoling was brought to the police station. While the guards were reporting the incident, the woman continued making a scene. She insisted that the dog intimidated her, causing her to protect herself by trying to kick it away. But unfortunately, she claimed that the child moved towards her and her foot landed on her instead.
While the police were trying to take down each side's versions of the story, Liu Jin was on his way to the station. He came with Xiao Ning who had with her a copy of the CCTV footage by the guard house.
"Young master Liu, why don't you stay inside the car while I hand over the video to the police?"
Liu Jin shook his head.
"I'm coming with you."
"But that woman is crazy! What if she hurts you too?"
"I prefer that. It'll be easier to send her to jail." Liu Jin deadpanned.
Xiao Ning sighed. This child was really stubborn.
"Is there a reason why you insist on seeing her?"
"I want to know the face of my enemy."
Xiao Ning sweated. Was he really a child?

In another car, Zhihao and Xiao Nuan were on their way to see Daiyu. Zhihao brought along Daiyu's white bunny to comfort her while Xiao Nuan brought along a change of clothes.
Earlier, Nao Nao had insisted on going with them. He must have been worried about Daiyu too. But Zhihao couldn't bring him along to the hospital. Moreover, he had called for a vet to come over and have Nao Nao checked on as well. After all, from the CCTV footage they saw, Qiaoling had managed to land a few kicks on Nao Nao too.
"Nao Nao was really brave." He commented and Xiao Nuan nodded.
No matter how much Qiaoling kicked him, he wouldn't let the woman go.
"He'll grow up to be a really good guard dog for the young mistress."
Zhihao nodded before looking down.
"Still, I hope Xiao Yu's okay."
Soon, they arrived at the hospital.

After the doctors treated Daiyu, Butler Tang opened the door and let Xiao Nuan and Zhihao in.
"Xiao Yu!" Zhihao called.
"Zhihao-gege!" Daiyu's eyes widened in excitement upon seeing him.
Zhihao quickly came to her side and tried to hug her but Daiyu pushed him away with her arm.
"Daiyu is sticky." She looked down and showed him her dress that was still stained by juice.
"Oh right. We brought you a change of clothes."
Xiao Nuan then brought her to the bathroom where she wiped her down before helping her change into a fresh set of clothes.
"Uncle Tang, how are her hands?" Zhihao asked.
"They're fine. She needed two stitches on her left palm but the rest were light wounds."
Zhihao pouted. Two stitches?
"Will it scar?"
"The doctor said that it might. But children recover better than adults so they should fade before she reaches her teenage years."
Zhihao let out a sigh of relief. Just then, Daiyu came out of the bathroom, all freshened up.
"Zhihao-gege, where's Jin-gege?" She asked.
"He went to send the woman who hurt you and Nao Nao to the police." He answered.
Daiyu's eyes widened.
"Nao Nao!" She panicked. She had forgotten about him in the midst of her pain and she felt terribly guilty.
"It's okay, Xiao Yu. He's seeing a doctor too." Zhihao gently patted her head to comfort her.
"Is – is Nao Nao hurt?" She looked up to him, eyes filled with worry.
"I don't know yet. The doctor will tell us later on. But I'm sure he's fine. Nao Nao is strong."
Daiyu paused before nodding.
"Nao Nao is strong! Nao Nao protected Daiyu!" She explained.
"Mmm. Nao Nao is a good boy."
Daiyu smiled widely. She felt proud of Nao Nao!
"How bout you, Xiao Yu? Are you okay now?"
Daiyu paused before looking down on her bandaged hands. She then showed them to her Zhihao-gege.
"Owie."

Meanwhile, Liu Jin and Xiao Ning had finally arrived at the station. Xiao Ning proceeded to show the officers the CCTV footage from the Wang Mansion while Liu Jin went to look for Qiaoling. She was isolated in a room because she had refused to speak any further until her lawyers arrived.
Upon successfully finding the room, Liu Jin noticed that it was closed. He sighed. He didn't really want to go inside to confront the crazy lady.
He examined the door and saw that it had a glass panel above the handle. He looked around, hoping to find a chair to stand on since he was too small to peak through it. Upon finding a footrest, he carried it towards the door and peaked inside the room.
He then used his skill on her.

While Liu Jin was away, Zhihao was up to no good as usual.
Butler Tang and Xiao Nuan were busy settling the bills so Zhihao planned to explore the hospital in the meantime, hoping to find Xia Xiulan. He had no reason to. He was just curious! Beside him, Daiyu obediently followed him around.
"Zhihao-gege! Where are we going?" She asked.
"Shhhh! We're on a secret mission, Xiao Yu!"
Daiyu tried to cover her mouth with her little hands but she remembered that they were bandaged. She pouted and bit her lip instead.
Zhihao continued walking around, riding elevators up and down, before they managed to reach the VIP area. There, they entered the rooftop lawn.
"Woaaaah!" Daiyu's eyes widened. The city looked really pretty from up here!
"Nice view, huh?" Zhihao asked and Daiyu nodded vigorously.
Just then, something caught Daiyu's attention from the corner of her eye. She turned her head and saw a child on a wheelchair being assisted by a nurse. Her head was bandaged and her leg was in a cast. She had a few bruises on her face and she had a finger splint on.
Zhihao, who saw Daiyu looking away, followed her line of sight.
His eyes widened. He recognized that face. He had seen it once in the afterlife. While she might look younger right now, Zhihao was sure that it was Xia Xiulan.
Daiyu continued staring before she spoke.
"Sad."
"Huh?"
"Daiyu feels sad."
"Why?"
Daiyu shook her head.
"Don't know! Daiyu just feels sad when looking at that pretty jiejie." She said as she pointed towards Xiulan.
Zhihao smiled bitterly. She felt sad? Why?
"That pretty jiejie looks sad too." She continued.
"Well, I would be sad too if I was as badly hurt as she is." Zhihao commented upon seeing her injuries.
"Will that pretty jiejie be happy?"
"Huh?"
"Will that pretty jiejie be happy? Like Daiyu?" She asked as she faced Zhihao.
He paused.
"I don't know. That's up to her." He smiled.
"If she lets go of her hatred, maybe she'll finally be happy like our Xiao Yu."
Daiyu paused, trying to understand his words.
"I hope pretty jiejie can be happy!" She smiled cheerfully.
Zhihao smiled before gently patting her head.
"Mmm. And I hope you never lose your shine, Xiao Yu. Stay cute, chubby, bubbly, and happy always." He said as he stretched her cheeks.
She giggled.
With that, Zhihao led her away, back to where Butler Tang and Xiao Nuan were waiting for them.

"Xiao Yu!"
Daiyu turned her head and saw Liu Jin.
"Jin-gege!!!" Daiyu ran towards him as fast as she could.
Instinctively, she hugged him but suddenly, pain shot through her hands.
"Ouch!" She cried and quickly retracted her hands.
"Xiao Yu! Are you alright?" He asked, worriedly.
Daiyu showed him her hands.
"Owie!"
Liu Jin laughed and kissed them softly.
"I'll take care of you while you're injured, Xiao Yu. You don't have to worry."
Daiyu smiled widely and nodded.
"Owkay!"
"Jin!" Zhihao ran towards them.
"Did you find anything?" He asked.
Liu Jin paused before sighing.
"Yeah…"
"What is it?"
He looked at Daiyu before turning to face Zhihao.
"Xiulan... is not Fengge's daughter."
"WHAT?!"
Liu Jin nodded. He too was shocked when he found out.
He didn't know how to feel.
Angry that Qiaoling lied to everyone?
Relief that Xiulan wasn't Daiyu's half-sister?
Frustrated that Daiyu died in the past for nothing?
He didn't know.
And how about Xiulan? How would she feel? When finds out that what drove her to seek revenge and hatred… was all based on a lie her mother had concealed?
