10 Chapter 10

In the past, Lanfen found out that Liu Jin had been trying to get his parents back together. That was why she got rid of him quickly.

But Liu Jin was smarter this time. To win the fight, he knew that he had to get his father to help him. That wasn't hard. His father was smart. All he had to do was drop hints here and there and his father would piece things together quickly.

Right now, his father must already have a hunch that Lanfen had caused his divorce with Nana. Knowing how obsessed his father was with his mother, he would surely deal with Lanfen himself. Liu Jin won't even need to lift a finger. His father would drag that bitch to hell.

Now the question is, how did Liu Jin find out that Lanfen had caused his parent's divorce?

He didn't. He merely guessed it. He used his skill on her and lo and behold, Lanfen's greatest fear was Shuren finding out that Nana still loved him.

Now, with his father's side taken cared off, his next step was to convince Nana to get back together with Shuren.

---

"Mom, why won't you return home? Is Lanfen stopping you?" Liu Jin asked.

"Ah Jin, that's – " Nana, who was in the kitchen, turned around to face him.

"Mom… I… I don't like Lanfen." He paused.

"She… She doesn't treat me well." He looked down, his eyes downcast.

"Please come home… I don't want to hurt anymore." He then looked up to her, his eyes teary.

Nana was taken aback. Hurt? … Was that woman mistreating him?! Nana's eyes widened at the sudden realization and her heart clenched.

"Come here, my baby." She opened her arms and Liu Jin ran into them.

"Mom…"

"It's okay, it's okay now! Mom will talk to your father, okay? Everything will be okay. I won't let her hurt you again."

"Does that mean you'll return home?" Liu Jin rested his head on her chest and looked up to her with big puppy eyes.

"T-that's –

His eyes grew teary again.

"O-oh no! My baby, don't cry! It's okay! M-mommy will return! Mommy will return home." She hugged him even tighter.

"You'll return?"

"Yes!"

"You'll kick Lanfen out?"

"Yes!"

"You'll be honest with your feelings and tell dad you love him?"

"H-Huh?"

Liu Jin sobbed.

"Y-yes! Yes I will!"

Liu Jin smiled, contented with her answer.

"Mom… dad still really loves you. When you left, I've never seen him smile again… He's gone back to smoking… and he even looks like he lost some weight."

"R-really?"

Liu Jin nodded. 'I only said looks like. I never said he actually lost weight.'

"Dad hasn't been the same without you. I know you both might have had misunderstandings. And I don't blame you for leaving. But if those misunderstandings were caused by Lanfen, you need to reconsider things. The one who will benefit the most from your divorce with father… is not you or him… it's her.

I've watched you and dad while growing up. I may be young but I can tell how much you love each other… Please don't let Lanfen destroy our family."

Nana paused, taking in his words.

"Dad's on his way here right now. He's coming to take you back. Don't lie to yourself anymore." Liu Jin smiled and gently kissed Nana on her cheek.

"Tell him you love him. You don't have to worry about Lanfen. Dad will take care of her."

Nana sighed and smiled.

"Oh, you little brat. Why do you sound so mature for your age hmm?" She peppered his face with kisses.

"Hehe." He giggled and leaned his head on her chest. He missed her.

"Mom… there's this girl I like. She's really cute! I'm sure you'll love her."

"Oh really?" Her son was talking about his crush!

"Mmm! I'll bring her to meet you soon." He beamed.

"Okay!" Nana smiled at her son brightly.

Just then, the doorbell rang.

"Dad's here. I'll go get the door."

"O-okay."

Liu Jin then opened the door and let his father in. Soon, they sat around the dinner table and began eating in silence.

"Dad, mom has something to tell you." Liu Jin nudged his mother with his elbow.

"E-eh?" Nana looked at him, confused.

"Mom told me that she wanted to get back together with you."

Nana's eyes widened.

"She said she still loves you."

"Ah Ji–"

"But she also said that you have to get rid of Lanfen yourself."

"W-wait –"

"No problem." Shuren answered.

"Eh?!"

Liu Jin smiled.

"See? I told you dad still loves you."

Nana blushed.

"Dad, don't you have to leave for a month-long business trip? Why don't you take mom along with you? Lanfen might hurt her while you're away." Liu Jin gently planted ideas onto his father's head.

"… Nana, pack your bags."

"Eh?!"

Liu Jin smiled at his mother.

"You should go. This can be your second honeymoon. And maybe when you come home, you'll have a baby brother for me."

Nana turned beet red and Shuren's eyes sparkled. This brat was smarter than he thought.

"… Have Butler Shao increase your allowance."

Liu Jin's eyes turned into dollar signs.

"Thank you, father."

'Hehe… Things are going smoother than I thought. Xiao Yu… I hope you're ready to meet your future husband soon.'
