6 Transitions Part 1 (Summer Rose & Family)

Two years had passed and without issue, Rinoa passed her maiden powers to Cinder. The process required both Rinoa and Cinder to devour a chakra fruit, then he started delicately seperating Rinoa's soul from the magic and transferring it to Cinder.

Relying on the newly developed chakra pathways in both girls greattly reduced the damage Rinoa took to her soul, but did not remove it completely. As a result, Jaune had two clones nurturing and treating Rinoa's body and soul to help her to recover swiftly. By the end of the process she only had to deal with a temporary weakness that went away in just under a week.

Needless to say, Rinoa was thrilled to be freed from the fate of a maiden! In her two years with Taiyang, Summer, Yang, and Ruby, she actually came to like fighting quite a bit, and was soon to start attending Signal Academy, but she still did not like the idea or being forced to fight or having some grand destiny. Rinoa liked simple things.

Rinoa developed a new-found determination to become a huntress, but one that takes control of her own destriny and that is not tied down by grand destinies and such.

For Yang, the same two years was...interesting… Even though Rinoa was older then her, Yang had still tried to assert the big sister role early on, since she took on the responsibility of mentoring and inspiring Rinoa to enjoy combat and being a huntress..

Yang was pretty tough at 3 years old, though she still hadn't awoken her semblance, and in a serious fight, Rinoa, who was much bigger, would have been able to beat her pretty easily, but Rinoa fell well behind Yang in terms of confidence and motivation.

By the two year mark, however, Yang's exhuberance had rubbed off on Rinoa, and Rinoa had firmly asserted herself into the big sister role, and loved both Yang and Ruby. Around the time that Rinoa fully and truly accepted herself as big sister to Yang and Ruby, she started calling Summer mom and Taiyang dad.

Taiyang had initially been skeptical the day that Summer brought home the mysterious girl named Rinoa, but he found that the girl, in her own way, had quite the work ethic. He questioned a bit regarding her hesitation towards fighting, but Summer told him to give Yang time with her, and Tai complied. After all, the girl never complained about household chores, unlike Yang, so there was still something admirable about her..

Summer, of course, was right, and eventually Rinoa was persuaded by young Yang and ended up asking to be sent to Signal Academy, which of course made Taiyang extremely happy, almost as happy as when the adorable Rinoa had started calling him dad about a month earlier.

While watching Rinoa, Summer found her to be a breath of fresh air, and enjoyed watching her interact with both Ruby and Yang, and it was clear to Summer that they loved each other well before Rinoa had even noticed it herself.

When the time came to meet with the mysterious boy named Jaune, Rinoa did not resist, and seemed quite excited, in fact. Summer accompanied Rinoa to the meeting, and Jaune introduced them to a young girl named Cinder Fall to both of them. Cinder's name seemed a bit ironic to Summer, considering her lost name was fall and she was to receive the Spring Maidens powers, but she made sure not to comment. She could appreciate the irony without risking the girl any discomfort.

Before they started the mysterious procedure, Jaune gave Summer, Rinoa and Cinder a mysterious fruit that Summer had never seen before and told them to eat it,

While they were eating, Jaune explained to them that these were chakra fruit, and that by eating them they'd awaken chakra in their bodies, and they could begin learning some of his unique techniques. For now, though, the chakra pathways within Rinoa and Cinder would soon be opened, allowing for the fascilitation of the transfer of the maiden powers from Rinoa to Cinder without Rinoa dying.

Jaune advised Rinoa that she'd have a temporary weakness, and he estimated for no longer then a month, at which point she would be completely recovered. Rinoa accepted this and Summer was able to observe the transfer of the powers from one girl to the other, finding it quite magical. To Summer, there was no better word for it.

Summer recalled that Jaune had mentioned once that he could use magic, but he still insisted that this chakra stuff was something different and seperate.

While the power transfer started, Jaune, remarkably, created two clones and these two clones did something to Rinoa to presumably reduce any repurcussions or harm she may suffer from this transfer. Summer did not fully understand what was happening, but her intuition told her that Jaune was a good person and the girl she now considered a daughter was in good hands.

Summer wouldn't admit it out loud, but she had been worried about what would happen once Rinoa started attending Signal Academy. Ozpin would inevitably discover her existence at that point, and if Rinoa still had her powers, well, that may have complicated things for them.

Now, however, once they got rid of Rinoa's maiden powers, their made up story that they divised together, about Rinoa not remembering her past and being found by Summer and brought home with her, would perhaps frustrate Ozpin s ehole lot, but he should not bother Rinoa anymore.

Summer had not really questioned Ozpin before she had met Jaune and Rinoa, but hearing from an adorable little girl, one who was afraid of being controlled, and who wanted to be the master of her own destiny, had finally put a bit of doubt into Summer's heart. To Summer, Rinoa was now a member of her family, and she would let no one take her away, not even Ozpin!

Her decision to give up her maiden powers had likely prevented what would have otherwise been an inevitably conflict between her and Ozpin, but Summer wouldn't tell Rinoa that. Summer had been determined to let Rinoa make the decision for herself, and she had,Summer, in turn, had been ready to support Rinoa no matter what, even if it had meant going against Ozpin, but fortunately that would not be necessary.

Ruby, who was only three years old by this time, had no idea of all of these complex emotions swirling around her home. All Ruby knew was that she loved her mom, her dad, and her two big sisters.

When Summer came home with Rinoa, she brought three additional fruits that Jaune had given to her for Taiyang, Yang and Ruby.

------

Six months had passed and Jaune was keeping tabs on Summer, knowing that in the original timeline, she had left on a mission around this time and never came back, so when she left this time Jaune followed her in secret

As predicted from the StellarWeb, she'd had an encounter with one of Salem's minions originally, but this time she had to deal with two of them. Even with the jutsu scrolls he'd left with Summer, she'd only had 6 minths to train with them. It may have been enough if there was only one attacker to keep her alive, but now that there were two, Jaune was definitely glad that he'd decided to follow Summer to be safe.

Deciding to quickly disguise himself, this clone of Jaune used the transformation Jutsu to look like Renji from Bleach and called forth his zanpakuto. He then used the Flying Thunder God to appear beside Summer "I'm here to help, Miss Rose." he chuckled " Dance Sode no Shirayuki"

Jaune had started training with his reiatsu during the past two and a half years, though just enough to use his Shikai, and not enough to even master the first dance, let alone the later powers. Even so, it gave him a little ability to radiate cold and to freeze things.

One of the attackers was an older crocodile faunus woman that he recognized from her twin sister's fight against Maria Calivera many years ago. This was who had originally attacked Summer, ending with both of them dying.

Jaune inwardly imagined that if Renji from Bleach saw someone looking like him but imitating Rukia's movements, twirling Rukia's zanpakuto as it entered the same Shikai as Rukia's, he might not be too thrilled about it, but Renji was not here and Jaune did not care.

The crocodile faunus went to reach for her clock weapon, which looked similar, but much more sophisticated then her sisters had, and found it was encased in a block of ice. Jaune/Renji grinned at her "Think I'd let you do that? I'm not some blockhead." even Jaune appreciated the irony of him saying that while transformed into Renji, who was a bit of a blockhead, or perhaps musclehead was a better word?

Summer was a bit surprised by Jaune's arrival, wondering if he was truly here to help, but Jaune glanced at Summer for a moment, and just for the briefest instant allowed his Tenseigan to appear, to let her and her alone know his identify. She had the three academy scrolls he'd left her, so she should have at least understood that he was using the transformation jutsu with that.

Summer nodded as she had indeed sorted out his identity, and they prepared to engage these opponents. Summer went after the elder croc faunus while Jaune engaged the mysterious new recruit that hadn't been here originally.

According to the StellarWeb, Croc and Summer met, and relying heavily on that clock of hers, she managed to defeat summer, but just like her twin with Maria, old croc girl was also critically injurred in the battle.

Now, however, Summer had learrned a few jutsu and the faunus girl could not use her semblance., since her clock was encased in ice, and Summer was not giving her time to deal with the ice over it at all,

The new human recruit seemed to be around his mid-30's with long red hair and green eyes. He carried a long sword and appeared to have a semblance that controlled fire. Realistically, he was faster and stronger then Jaune, but Jaune had a wide assortment of techniques that made him competitive.

He focused on keeping this man seperated from the faunus woman to prevent her from having her weapon thaw out, though his own wood and ice abilities were basically useless against this master of fire.

Since his opponent had a speed, strength, skill, and experience advantage, Jaune heavilly relied upon the replacement jutsu long enough to spread flying thunder god kunai around the area, and with those he at least could surpass his opponents speed and hold on long enough for Summer to defeat her own opponent.

Jaune was relieved when, without really taking any damage, Summer finally managed to pierce her oppoent through the heart from behind after a successful replacement jutsu, and she rushed over to assist Jaune in finally finishing his own opponent.

Once both were dead, Jaune went to pick up his scattered Kunai.

"I was not expecting to see you today." Summer told Jaune.

"This was a battle from which you were going to die, so I had to step in." Jaune insisted to Summer with a nod "Salem knows about you now, you cannot go back home. You'll just drag the threat that is Salem there and we don't want that. I know a place you can go. I am training a team, I'd like you to mentor them. I'll let your family know what happened and why you can't come back, and you'll help me to form a fighting force that will truly threaten Salem's regime."

Summer frowned when Jaune explained that to her, not liking the idea of leaving her family behind at all.

"You can return to them once Ruby and Yang are old enough and know how to defend themselves. They are young and already have chakra, so they'll have a major advantage when they get older, so wait until they are both at Beacon." Jaune suggested to Summer "I'll even happily assist you in writing letters to them if you want to keep in touch."

Summer nodded reluctantly. She always knew she'd do anything to keep her family safe, but she never thought that the answer would be to leave them, even if it was not permanent. In her heart, Summer prayed that Taiyang, Rinoa, Yang, and Ruby would be alright.
