Increase In Strength

"Ding! You have got a free roulette spin because of the first time activation of the system. Please check it in the main menu."

When Om heard this, he was scared. At first, he turned his head around to see where that voice came from. After confirming that no one else was inside the room except him, he calmed down. He realized that the sound was inside his head. He thought for a moment and said quietly, "System, open."

[A.N- I forgot to add this in the previous chapter. Aum or Om (in Devanagari ॐ) is one of the most sacred symbols in Hinduism. In Sanskrit known as praṇava (प्रणव) lit. " to sound out loudly" or oṃkāra (ओंकार) lit. " oṃ syllable") Hindus consider Aum to be the universal name of the Lord and that it surrounds all of creation.]

As if confirming his guess, a virtual screen appeared in front of him. On that screen, he could see 4 things. Three of them were somewhat protruding out of the screen. They appeared like three buttons. One was [Spin], the second one was the [Inventory] and the third one was [About]. The fourth thing was a series of number. Right next to it was written: [Popularity Value]. The popularity Value at this time was 2000.

Reading all this, Om was confused. What is this? System? What system? And what are these option? Aah…What is happening here? Hmm? There is an about button too. Let's see if there is any information about this "System".

Om clicked on the [About], and suddenly the screen flashed. A large text of golden-brown color was on top of the screen reading, [Life Changing System]. Right below it were more texts.

[Are you bored of your life? Do you feel that your life is getting dim day-by- day? And you think that there is no purpose to your life anymore? Don't worry. This Life-Changing System will totally change your life. It will take you to the peak of your life. This System will help the host to become a world shaking figure. This is the promise of the Life-Changing System]

Reading till here, Om was dumbfounded. What the f*ck is this? Is this an introduction or an advertisement? Leaving all the inner thoughts aside, Om somehow managed to understand what the system was and what it does. After digesting all the information, Om was very excited. This System may really change his life.

He suddenly remembered about the free spin. He immediately went to the main menu and clicked on the [Spin] option. The screen changed and Spinning Wheel come into his sight. At the top right corner of the screen there was something written which read, [Number of Spins: 1].

Suddenly, a small dialogue box popped up on which one could see a series of text written.

"You have got only 1 free spin. If you want to spin the second time, it will consume 200,000 popularity value. And your [Popularity Value] will automatically increase if someone likes anything you do"

"Oh! So, with enough [Popularity Value], I can spin this again and again. Hmm. This is interesting. Let's use my free spin and see what I get from it."

Om closed the pop-up window. Only now did he see what the spinning wheel actually looks like. There were 4 areas on the wheel naming, [One-time consumable Items], [Skills], [Attributes], [Specials]. The [One-time consumable Items] covered more than half of the wheel, while the [Skills] and [Attributes] almost covered the same amount of space, which was two-third of he remaining space. The fourth category, [Specials], covered the least space making it the rarest category of the four.

Looking at a circular button the screen saying spin, Om gently pressed it. After pressing the button, the wheel started spinning. It was slow at first, but then it started spinning faster and faster. Soon, it felt like it has reached its maximum speed as it started to slow down. Om didn't understand which category did what so he didn't have any particular category that he wanted the wheel to stop at.

After a while, the speed of the wheel started to slow down. Looking at the speed of the wheel, it looked like that it was about to stop at the [One-time consumable items] category. As Om didn't had any expectations from any of them, he didn't feel any disappointment either.

As Om had guessed, it was about to stop at the largest area, but there still seemed to a little bit of power left in the wheel which pushed it from the largest area to the area right next to it, the [Attribute] category.

Suddenly, many fireworks exploded around the screen and one more window popped-up after that. The window had a picture of peach in the middle with some text written right below it. The text said, "Strength Enhancing magical fruit x6. This fruit enhance your physical strength."

This was a simple introduction but that was enough for Om to understand that this was no simple fruit. If a fruit alone could enhance a person's physical strength, then what was the need for people to exercise and train? When Om saw the introduction, he was surprised but a little curious too. He wondered how much strength those fruits could raise.

So, he immediately closed the pop-up window and went to the main menu to see where his reward was. As there was only the inventory option left to explore, the reward had most probably went there. Om quickly opened the [Inventory] and found his Magical fruits lying in a corner. He touched them and an option popped out suddenly, reading if he wanted to use them or not. Om clicked on [Use] without hesitating. Suddenly he felt that his hands were a little too heavy. He looked down and found that those peaches had already materialized in his hands.

He picked up one peach and started examining it from different angles to see what was different about it from the normal ones. After not finding anything different, he simply took a bite out of it. After taking a bite, Om's eyes went wide.

"This is SO F*CKING DELICIOUS! Oh!! I HAVE NEVER EATEN A THING THIS DELICIOUS BEFORE."

The peach was so delicious that after taking a bite, he couldn't stop and ate all 6 peaches one after another. After eating all of them, Om still wanted to eat some more. But soon, he found out that there was a warm current revolving in his body. That warm current made Om's body feel so comfortable that he couldn't help but close his eyes and sigh. Not long after closing his eyes, Om fell sound asleep.

Next Morning

Om slowly opened his eyes. The first thought that crossed his mind was, "I feel so refreshing and comfortable. This was the best sleep I have ever get in two lifetimes."

As he slowly stood up from the bed, he opened the window curtain to let the sunrays brighten up his small room. Luckily, he had got a room facing the sun because in this overcrowded place, a small room like his mostly remains dark, without getting sunlight the whole year. This was also one of the reason for his high rent.

After opening the window, Om stretched a bit and felt that his body was somewhat different than before. Suddenly he remembered about the Magical Peaches. He immediately had an urge to check how much strength had he gained from those 6 peaches.

At first, he thought of punching the wall of the room. But he immediately shook his head. Why? Because he might hurt himself if he randomly punched a wall. So, He bent down and started doing push-ups.

1...2…3…4…5…6….7…8….9.....25….45...….69(Huehuehue)...75…..80…..90...95

"Haah..."

"Haah.."

After doing 95 push-ups, Om felt that his arms were numb so he stopped and stood up, breathing a little heavily. But after calming his heavy breathing, he felt so excited that he wanted to laugh at the top of his lungs. Earlier, Om had tried to do push-ups many times but after only doing 20, he would stop because of the numbness in his arms. But after eating those 6 Strength enhancing magical peaches, he was able to do 95 push-ups. And these much were not even his true limit. Although he felt a little numbness in his arms but that was all. He could still continue for who knows how much longer.

Although this number may not be comparable to a true professional athletes and trainers, but for an average man to have such a significant growth in strength in just one night was no laughing matter. This strength was quite above than an average man. Although it was not comparable to an athlete,

but Om wasn't discouraged because of this as he had the system and if he ever get lucky once again then, he could once again get those fruits through the spin.

Just thinking about this made Om very excited. He happily went to the bathroom to get fresh because he had decided to go back to the work today.
