Master Dojo and Battle?

[•—•{James Morgan}•—•]

"Huh?" I instinctively respond as the anti-social guy I am. Looking at the guy I gave him a "are you talking to me look?". Taking a better look I start to recognise the guy.

Purple hair, yellow eyes and a very fit looking build at his age.

'Is this Leon?'

"Umm hello, are you still there man." The person I recognise as a younger Leon waves his hand around my eyes. Snapping out of my thinking Leon gets a grin. "You must be new here."

"Yeah my names James. I'm looking for the Master Dojo, I have a ticket." I respond nodding. Leon putting his hand to his chin, suddenly gets a shocked face.

"You're Sean Morgan's son right!" Leon says excitedly. Getting confused at what he's trying to get at, I just stand there while taking my ticket out of the bag "Thanks so much for funding the Master Dojo, I'll make sure to repay you some day! Though I'm not sure when, maybe when I'm rich I guess?"

Hearing this unexpected response I start to piece things together. The dojo must of been low on money and because I asked my dad to go here, he funded the place with some extra money in exchange of taking care of me.

'My thinking could be wrong but there isn't anything else to infer from his words. If he's serious about paying me back, I can take this opportunity to become his sponsor.' I think to myself with a devious grin.

"We can talk about repaying sometime else, let's head to the Dojo. What's your name by the way?"

"My names Leon. Mustard is the name of the stinky old man, he's owns the dojo." Leon says scratching back with a sheepish look.

"Well we can have a battle at the dojo if you really want." I offer making Leon grin.

"Shake on it." He says soon after. Giving him a handshake, we proceeded to make a 10 minute walk towards the dojo in question.

Instead of the grassy fields and isolated place I thought it was. The island had many folks living here with shops and a Pokemon Center associated over here.

"So how old are you James?" Leon questions a bit awkwardly.

"I'm eight currently, you?"

"Ten years old" he responds holding all ten of his fingers up. "I'm planning it become a trainer next year before turning eleven. Hopefully I'll be able to get a sponsor after the Pokemon Showing."

Hearing this from Leon I just start to think to myself.

'Should I offer to sponsor him now, I'm not sure if the timing is right and it's kind of awkward.'

The question is am I really that shameless?

Well…

Yes.

But I'll need to change the main premise of the offer, like making it a challenge sort of. I thought of what to say while we got closer to the dojo.

I could literally see the top of the Dojo from afar.

"Leon I'll be honest to you and say this. My organisation that I made needs some talents. So I'm willing to offer you a contract, but on the condition that you beat me in a Pokemon battle." I tell the guy with a grin. Leon getting an excited expression, looks at me like I'm his saviour.

"Are you not joking right now." Leon says like a lost puppy grabbing my arm. Getting a little weirded out by the grab, I just adjust myself. "At least I don't need to battle all those trainers for attention at the tournament. I'm not even sure if I could qualify hehe."

'Oh how wrong you are poor child.' I say to myself hearing Leon's words. It seems like he hasn't battled any trainer outside this Island but this could be wrong.

"You're speaking like your gonna win." I respond with a laugh. With this we talked the whole way till we arrived to the Master Dojo. It didn't take too long to get there as we made it to the entrance.

Now that I was in front of the place, I squint my eyes.

The Master Dojo had the same looks but looked more worn out than in the games. Instead of bright yellow, the roof with the iconic Kubfu picture was more brown than anything. With the structure looking aged and and decaying, you could see some construction happening.

"We can battle at the back." Leon says enthusiastically as he dragged me inside the place. Entering the dojo I see five people in a solid formation focusing on their body training.

"Everybody, I will be battling for a Pokemon sponsor!" Leon announces as soon as we got closer to the group. Looking forwards I see an old man with a turquoise zipper jacket and white pants. He was basically bald with overflowing amounts of eye brow hair.

"Really?"

"Leon you got this!"

"It should of been me, tch."

"I'm gonna go play with my cards."

Walking up to the hunchbacked man, I take out my ticket and introduce myself. I did this ignoring the other students as I was tired at this point of time. My brain couldn't handle more social interactions if I'm being honest.

"Hello sir my names James Morgan, I'm a new student here."

Mustard looking at me with a sly smile, takes a slight a Leon before returning it to me.

"Oh hello boy, my name is Mustard. Let's get you settled in to the dojo first." Mustard saying this shows me where my room and necessities were. While Mustard showed my room at the left side of the dojo, Leon was crying in a corner wanting to battle.

"But it's not fair." I hear the guy murmur as I walked back to the main body of the dojo.

"Leon let's go." I tell the guy. I've prepared myself a bit with with a shower and wore the dojo's clothing. I've do gotta say though, these things are comfortable as hell. With my team fully healed up and rested they should be fine to battle.

My only experience with trainer are Bill and a few kids down the road. So this will be rough but I'll try my best anyways.

But basically my odds to win are skewed.

"Alright I'll show you the battle field!" Leon says recovering from what ever heart break he just had. Walking to the back of the Dojo with Mustard and the other nine students, we got to each opposing end and started the match.

"This battle will be a three on three match with no switch outs. Begin!" Mustard shouts making himself the referee. Leon and I hearing this throw out a Pokeball.

"Rioo!"

"Rhydon!"

Observing Riolu's reaction to the Rhydon in front of it I smirk. Riolu not intimidated by the big guy, stands straight and in his fighting form with a determined look.

"[Work Up] Riolu."

"Rhydon get up to it and use [Smack Down]"

Riolu used [Work Up] successfully but the way faster Rhydon closed the gap and was heading for Riolu. Seeing this I get a little nervous seeing the sheer force Rhydon is emitting from dashing forward.

*Crack*

The ground literally cracked as he rushed to Riolu.

"Use [Quick Attack] to dodge then use [Vacuum Wave]."

While saying this I could visibly see Leon get a wide grin, seemingly predicting my commands.

"Rhydon, use [Stone Edge] trap 1!"

Riolu dodging the bulldozing Rhydon, turns around and uses [Vacuum Wave] to do just a scratch on Rhydon's tough skin.

Unfortunately for Riolu, the big guy turns around and shoved both us hand to the ground parallel. Twin [Stone Edge]s were used which trapped Riolu in the middle.

Making some type of road for Rhydon to march forward.

"Okay Rhydon, [Drill Run]!"

"[Detect] Riolu!"

With Rhydon having a straight and self made path in front of him. It channeled ground energy to its horn and started charging again.

*Crack*

The ground quakes at Rhydon's step as it looks impossible to stop. Riolu using [Detect], dodges to the side.

But unfortunately for Riolu, Rhydon quickly reacts and turns right to hit its opponent square on.

"Rioo!" Riolu howls in pain as it's sent crashing towards my feet. Looking at the downed Pokemon, Riolu had swirls in its eyes indicating that it was finished.

"Rhydon is the winnner, send out your next Pokemon challenger." Mustard announces.

"You tried your best." I whisper returning Riolu to his Pokeball.

'I guess there's only one Pokemon I could choose here'

Thinking this I sent out my next Pokemon. Taking a Pokeball from my right pocket, I throw it to the battlefield.

"Metang!" The iron claw Pokemon hums. Looking the opponent in front of it, Metang roared out loud.

"[Reflect] Metang."

"Rhydon [Rock Blasf]!"

While Metang successfully set up a [Reflect]. Multiple rocks came hurling at Metang but because of its mind. It could multi task and use moves while moving.

*Crash*

Seeing the rocks impact the [Stone Edge] from the last battle I sweat a little at the damage.

"Cut the distance with another [Drill Run]"

"Use [Bullet Punch] to interrupt its attack."

*Crack*

Rhydon doing a familiar move, launches itself towards Metang's direction. Metang not backing down calculates the best place to attack, with these split second calculations finished.

Metang lowers itself and channels steel energy to its fists and speeds forward. Rhydon not being able to react, gets hit on its left it. Concussing the guy and leaving it vulnerable.

"Smack it with your tail Rhydon!"

"[Metal Claw] Metang, don't let it recover for free!"

Rhydon still a little confused from the hit, isn't able to register Leon's words as it gets hit in the eyes with [Metal Claw]

"RHYDON!" Rhydon roses out getting hit in the eyes. This proved to be a critical hit as it started to attack blindly.

"Rhydon calm down!" Leon shouts trying to get Rhydon to listen to him. But unfortunately this didn't work as Rhydon proceeded to use [Earthquake] that did nothing.

*Crack* *Crumble*

"[Flash Cannon] to its head Metang!"

Metang took its time to charge up the [Flash Cannon] and perfectly aimed it towards Rhydon's temple.

*szszszszszt*

"Rhy…" Rhydon whimpers getting directly hit. Leon seeing the pitiful state his Rhydon is in, returns it to its Pokeball practically making it forfeit.

"Metang is the winner, send out your next Pokemon challenger."

Leon nodding to signify he heard his sensei, took out a Pokeball from his side and threw it.

"ZAAAARD!" An intimidating Charizard appears roaring to the sky. With a sweat going down my face I pale at the sigh.

'I'm fucked.'

"Charizard use [Fly] and [Flame Charge]!" Leon commands.

"Use [Protect] Metang!"

Metang pulling off a [Protect] doesn't stay safe for long as after three seconds, Charizard appeared in front of Metang from the direct opposite of the field.

*Crack* *Clink*

The [Protect] was immediately broken which Charizard proceeded to body Metang sending it back fainted. Sighing at the knockout, I return Metang to his Pokeball.

"The winner is Charizard, send out your next Pokemon challenger."

"I forfeit." I respond with a sigh. Leon was simply stronger no doubt.

What a monster…

"That was a great battle, let's have some more for the remaining time I stay here" Leon says walking towards me while offering a handshake. Getting a competitive smirk I take the handshake and agree.

'Maybe this won't be too bad after all.'

[}•———•{]

"Well what's your choice James." I hear Leon say from my side. Looking at the two Pokemon in front it doesn't take me too long to make a choice.

"I'll take Squirtle sensei."

The reason for this choice is firstly I'm going to be a water type trainer anyway. There may be a island full of the Squirtle line I might visit in the future, but I already have a Bulbasaur I want to catch.

The Bulbasaur I remember from the anime should be in a sewer right now and I've got just over 10+ years to pick him up.

"A mighty fine choice, especially considering you have nine water types for some reason." Mustard says calling me out.

"Hahaha, are you serious. Why didn't you send one out against me?" Leon chuckles a loud which sounded like a [Taunt] to me. Grumbling at their ramblings, I walk up to the Squirtle and pick him up.

"Ignore those two, I'm gonna make you the apex of your species little man." I tell the Squirtle. Squirtle looking back at me, just tilts its head to the side in confusion.

*Swoosh*

"Squirtle squirtle!" The little guy laughs out after soaking me wet with a [Water Gun].

I'll need to discipline this guy…

"How ironic, the water trainer is wet."

"You can't be serious right now!" I practically growl out in frustration. This went on for a while with Leon teasing me about being a bad water trainer, which I just laughed off.

"Hey sensei, why give me a Pokemon. I'm still eight after all?" I question. It was nearing the day and Mustard's students (There's only seven including James) either went home or were training late at the back of the dojo.

Interestingly enough two of the five students I am able to recognise as Avery and Klara. From what Leon told me Mustard gifted them a diamond Abra and a diamond galarian slowpoke separately.

Quite strong Pokemon that easily can become aces of a champion. Especially Abra as an Alakazam is an amazing versatile Pokemon.

"Do you think it matter what your age is boy?" Mustard responds. "Even if I do report you what will the authorities do? The most that will happen is a slap on the wrist and a small fine for you nobles."

"So your saying I could get away with most things Pokemon training wise?" I say with a little bit of interest.

"You nobles and have an endless supply of money. I learnt the hard way back when I was younger of the power of it. Back before Trainers weren't paid the big bucks, Pokemon trainers were stepped on and made fun of if they didn't have any backing."

"Nobles had the real power before, but at these times it's been changing for trainers slowly…" Mustard says at the end.

'Back when I was younger eh? Is that why a former 18 year long Champion like Mustard is living like a broke man.' I think to myself.

"Darling are you there?" I hear a voice coming the the entrance of the dojo. Looking over I see a beautiful woman with brown hair and blue eyes walking towards us.

She was basically a milf.

'Bro Mustard had game, god damn.'
