"How you feeling Buck?" steve asked as his friend sat up on the hospital bed.

"Well my head hurts a little," he laughed smiling at Steve, "but I think it worked." he looked over at T'Challa and Shuri who were standing in the corner of the room.

"Well, it was my pleasure," Shuri smiled while T'Challa rolled his eyes laughing.

"Did you forget I helped as well?" T'Challa said making even Bucky laugh,

"Do you think it worked?" Steve asked looking at Shuri the back at Bucky who looked down at his hands waiting for an answer.

"I'm positive it did what it was supposed to, we took the trigger words out of your head, but we need to do a test in a few days just to make sure." Shuri smiled proudly.

"Thank you all so much, you really didn't need to do this," Bucky said giving a small smile.

"Anything for a friend of Captain America." Shuri joked, making everyone laugh.

That was over a year ago and the treatment helped Bucky and got Hydra out of his head.

She jumped over the houses that lined the outside of the city stopping on one and getting as close to the edge as possible. She took her rifle out from the strap on her back and aimed at the living room window. she waited till an older man maybe in his late 40's came into view, she quickly looked at the photo, it was a match. She aimed and put her finger on the trigger but stopped.

"I could leave. I could finally escape," she whispered to herself. She wasn't sure if she could hide from Hydra but she knew she had to try. She needed to figure out who she was.

She hooked her rifle to the strap on her back and headed as fast as she could to the center of the city. She jumped through alleyways and decided to hide in a dumpster before sunrise. she couldn't fall asleep, she was terrified that every sound she heard was Hydra coming to find her. By the time the sun had risen, she had quickly made a plan. She noticed a hot dog stand on the street a little way down from the dumpster she was in, she knew that by mid-afternoon there would be tons of money, so she would distract the owner and take the cash to get clothes and start rent on an apartment. she waited all morning at a coffee shop across the street, eventually, they kicked her out for loitering but that's ok she noticed it was 3 in the afternoon already. she crossed the street to the cart and went to talk to the man running it,

"Hello sir, I was just wondering if you'd like to know that that man over there has been eyeing your cart all afternoon," she said with a concerned look and pointed at some random man sitting at a picnic table.

"Thank you, young lady, I'll go talk to him." the man said walking away. She made sure no one was looking before she quickly grabbed the money and ran as fast as she could to the dumpster she was in before. the sun was setting as she took the money out and started to count it. she quickly got up and ran to an apartment building that looked like it didn't have a lot of residents, she talked to the landlord and he agreed to let her stay.

It had been a few months since she stole from that man with the hot dog cart, she now had a job and was able to pay rent and pay for food. she worked at a coffee shop a few blocks down from where she was living. She was slowly getting her memory back but things were still blurry.

*RING RING RING*

She got up and hit the stop button on her alarm clock. She went to her kitchen to grab a granola bar before brushing her teeth and having a shower. She went and put on some black leggings and a blue t-shirt. On her way out she grabbed her keys, her apron, and her backpack. As she headed down the street to the coffee shop she kept her head low and didn't wave or say "hi" to anyone. Once she got to the shop, she said hello to her co-workers and started her shift. It was a pretty normal day until a certain Costumer came to order.

"Hello sir, what can I get for you today?" She asked, ready for him to order. When he hadn't said anything she looked up and saw he was motioning her to come closer, she assumed maybe he had a speech difficulty or something. So she leaned in only to have her heart stop at what he said.

"Hail Hydra." He whispered before walking away. She ran to the back Grabbed her bag and keys and left. Her co-worker called out for her but she didn't turn around. She knew she needed to get to the Avengers tower.

She had seen pictures of Captain America on TV and they triggered her memories of him and some other man she still couldn't identify. But every memory of Captain America the other man was there. She couldn't remember anything about Captain America other than what he looked like, the same with the other man.

As she ran she heard cars racing behind her. She knew she wouldn't be able to outrun them, she needed to lose them. Suddenly she felt a bullet race past her.

"Dammit," she said under breath. she needed to lose them fast before a bullet actually hit her. And at that very minute, she bullet went past her slicing her arm.

"shit shit shit," she yelled as she grabbed her arm in pain, still trying to run as fast as she could. she saw an alleyway and dove into it hiding behind a dumpster. The cars sped past and turned a corner hoping to catch her on the other side. She left the alleyway and climbed a building to start traveling on the rooftops instead of the ground. She was able to see the building with the big letter A on it. She jumped down from the roof of some pizza place and got to the driveway before being hit in the head with who knows what.

"Dammit Tony its a kid." someone said as her vision got blurry before everything went black
