Running away from home

Today, I've been all moody. Even at school, I was pretty much just resting my head on my table in a daze.

Yesterday, I accidentally overheard my parents discussing about me.

Am I really that inconsiderate? Do I really make it difficult for my parents?

[AT HOME]

" Honey, have you seen Hye-jee?" - dad

"She is still not back yet. I wonder why is she late today... Poor dear, she must be hungry." - mum

[PARK]

CHOO!

"Urgh... it's so cold."

I was wandering alone until it got dark. It grew quiet as night fell and I felt even lonelier. Still, I didn't want to go home.

"Should I go home? Hmm..."

"NO WAY!"

"Hee! I'm doing all of this to make them worry. Then they will realize how important I am."

|HYE-JEE'S THOUGHTS|

"Ohoho! Dinner was marvelous, superb!" - mum

"What an enjoyable dinner." - Hye-mi

"Ha! Ha! Much better without Hye-jee around." - dad

It wouldn't be like that... Would it?

Would it be possible for my family not to miss me at all?

No, it wouldn't! They would worry about me. Maybe a little, I think.

"Hye-jee!"

"Hye-jee!"

"Uuu... what now?"

"Is that you, Hye-jee?"

"Hmm? D-Dad?"

Just as I was about to cry, dad suddenly appeared.

"You little rascal! What are you doing here this late huh? We were all worried about you. Do you know how dangerous it is to wander off outside alone?"

"Dad..."

At that moment, I couldn't stop my tears from flowing.

"You're hungry, right? Come, let's go home."

"Uuu... dad! I'm sorry!"

Dad, I'm so grateful that you came for me!

"Dad, were you all worried when I didn't come home?"

"Of course."

"Even mum and sis?"

And that is how my first runaway experience ended.

To be honest, it was all her fault that I ran away. Mum lost her temper because of my results which led me to be really upset and depressed. Hmph, seriously!

[AT HOME]

"HYE-JEE!" - mum & sis

"Staying out late will cost you 4 sweepings, got it?" - mum

"NOT FAIR, MUM!" - Hye-jee

But how did she know where I was? Doesn't matter, if dad didn't come to fetch me home today, I... urgh... just thinking about it is giving me chills!

Oh! Actually, there was also a present for me on her table. Mum bought some books for me to help me improve my weak subjects.

Somehow, I totally overlooked it... hee! Mum, I love you!
