'I am going to get married!!!'

"Thank you," She replies politely.

It is the third week of December. The restaurant is crowded with couples. She looks at the couples in love and wonders if she could find happiness with Zhao Zhu. She feels her heart resisting for some reasons. She doesn't feel anything for him. But, she is already twenty-eight. All of her high school female friends are married with kids. Her twin brother is also married. She has waited for so long for love to knock on her doors.

The love never came.

"We should get our marriage registered next week. Don't worry about the procedure. Just come to the civil office with your documents."

"Yes...I mean, sure. Let's get married." Huang Qiuyan laughs and hides her disappointment. She didn't expect the proposal to be this way. The romantic side of her wants more. But, it is a marriage of convenience. What could she expect?

"Let's order food, shall we?" Zhao Zhu picks up the menu.

Just then, a dishevelled and shaken woman in her mid-twenties walks toward their table. Her eyes are red and swollen eyes like she has a bad cold. Her flawless skin is pale. She is wearing a thigh-length crimson dress. She stops near Zhao Zhu who is preoccupied with the menu. He doesn't notice her at all. She feels like her world is over. Zhao Zhu is dead. Qi-er killed him.

How could this happen? She was finally going to get married. He was the only one who wanted to marry her. All her efforts were in vain.

Qi-er is already done with the waiter. Her next victim is a woman in her mid-forties. That woman's companion shrieks and runs away. Some people point at her and scream, "Vampire! Vampire!"

Huang Qiuyan's throat is dry. She picks up her glass of water and drink. She needs to calm down. Thankfully, Qi-er is busy grabbing and biting people. A few men gather their courage and try to stop her. But who could stop a vampire? She snaps their necks in a blink of an eye.

She runs to the crowded door. She turns around to look at Qi-er. She sees Zhao Zhu standing up behind Qi-er. His eyes are also red and swollen. His skin is pale just like Qi-er. One by one, the waiter and other bitten people also stand up behind her.

"Lian'er?" A man runs to the bitten woman's side. She should be dead. Huang Qiuyan had seen Qi-er snapping that woman's neck after biting her and sucking her blood.

He grabs the woman and asked, "Lian'er, are you alright?"

The woman answers the man by biting his neck. The crowd scream again. Huang Qiuyan doesn't delay anymore. She slips through the shocked crowd, going as far as possible from Qi-er and her people. She runs through the streets. She stops only when she reaches the train station. She is trying to catch her breath when she realizes that she forgot her purse and phone in the restaurant.

At the same time, she sees a crowd running out of the train station in a hurry.

She stops a woman and asks, "What happened?"

"Vampires!" The woman yells. "There were vampires in the train"

Huang Qiuyan purses her lips. Where should she run now? She doesn't have the money or phone. She hears painful cries coming from the train station.

"They are coming!!!" The woman is horrified when she hears the cries. She grabs Huang Qiuyan's arm in fear. She runs and drags Huang Qiuyan along with her.
