Chapter 28: Chimera Ants - Confrontation

They split up to search for their targets, communicating through earpieces. Kai ran along a corridor, his eyes scanning for any signs of Chimera Ants. Suddenly, he felt the ground give way beneath him. He had stepped on a camouflage and hidden pitfall trap.

He managed to land on his feet, but he was not alone. He looked up and saw Zazan, one of the Royal Guards of the Chimera Ant King. She was a scorpion-like Chimera Ant, with a long tail that ended in a sharp stinger. She grinned wickedly, showing her fangs. Her stinger dripped with venom, a deadly weapon that could paralyze or kill with a single touch.

Kai looked around and realized that he had fallen into her chamber, where she was waiting for him. It was a large and luxurious room, decorated with expensive furniture and ornaments. But it also had a sinister vibe, with skulls and bones scattered around, and a large cage in the corner, where she kept her victims.

She taunted him and challenged him to a fight. She said that he was lucky to meet her, and that she would make him her toy. She said that she would enjoy playing with him, and that she would make him scream and beg for mercy.

"Welcome to my chamber, little hunter. You are so lucky to meet me. I am Zazan, one of the royal guards of the king. And you are my new toy. I will have so much fun with you." She said, licking her lips.

"Who are you calling a toy? I am Kai, one of the best hunters in the world. And you are my enemy. I will not play with you, I will fight you. And I will defeat you." Kai said, standing up.

"Oh, how brave and foolish. You think you can fight me? You think you can defeat me? You don't know who you are dealing with. I am a scorpion ant, and I have a deadly stinger. And I have a venom that can paralyze or kill you with a single touch. You have no chance against me." She said, waving her tail.

"I don't care what you are, or what you can do. You are still a chimera ant, and I am still a hunter. And I have a duty to eliminate you, and to save the world from your tyranny. You have no right to exist, and I will end your existence." Kai said, drawing his weapon.

"How noble and arrogant. You think you have a duty, a right, a cause. You think you are saving the world, but you are destroying it. You are the ones who are evil, who are cruel, who are selfish. You are the ones who should not exist, and I will end your existence." She said, readying her stinger.

"Enough talk. Let's settle this once and for all. Come at me, if you dare." Kai said, charging at her.

"Bring it on, if you can." She said, meeting his charge.

They clashed in the middle of the room, starting a fierce and brutal fight. Kai quickly assessed the situation, weighing the pros and cons of accepting her challenge.

He sensed that he had more nen than her, and he decided to take the risk. He knew that it was a gamble, a life-or-death decision. He knew that if he won, he would gain a huge advantage over her. But he also knew that if he lost, he would lose everything. He knew that it was a dangerous and desperate move, but he also knew that it was his only chance.

He used his two tonfas and his gun, as well as his dragon fist and dragon eye hatsu's. "You're pathetic, weak, useless, and that you will die in agony."

She uses her agility and reflexes to dodge and counter him, moving like a blur and striking like a viper. She says that he is doomed, hopeless, worthless, and that he will bow before her.

The fight rages on, with both of them giving their best and their worst. They taunt and mock each other, trying to break each other's spirit and morale.

"You are pathetic, little hunter. You think you can match me with your toys and tricks? You are nothing but a bug, a nuisance, a joke. You are not worthy of my attention, let alone my respect. You should just give up and die, and save yourself from more humiliation." Zazan says, sneering at him.

"You are delusional, scorpion ant. You think you can beat me with your brute force and venom? You are nothing but a beast, a monster, a freak. You are not worthy of my pity, let alone my mercy. You should just surrender and beg, and save yourself from more agony." Kai says, glaring at her.

They clash again, with more intensity and ferocity. They land more hits and inflict more damage, but they also receive more injuries and suffer more pain. They bleed and sweat, but they also grit their teeth and endure. They roar and curse, but they also praise and respect.

Kai manages to slash her face with his tonfa, leaving a deep cut across her eye. He makes her bleed and blind, but he also admires her beauty and courage. He also manages to shoot her arm with his gun, leaving a hole in her flesh. He makes her hurt and weak, but he also acknowledges her strength and skill. He dodged one of her stinger thrusts, and he counterattacks with his own combo combined from his two hatsu, dragon fist and dragon eye, and his developed ability called lightning strike which he imbues the electric to his attacks.

He unleashes a barrage of fiery punches and his two tonfa attacks that overwhelm Zazan's defense. He channels his nen and his electricity into his fists and his tonfas, creating a blazing and shocking aura.

He uses his dragon eye to see through her movements and attacks, predicting and evading them. He uses his dragon fist to break through her tough skin and scales, delivering powerful punches that crack her bones.

He hopes that his grandfather and his friends are okay. He hopes that they have succeeded in their mission, and that they have saved the world from the chimera ants. He hopes that he has made a difference, and that he has proven himself as a hunter and as a person. He closes his eyes and falls unconscious.

Meanwhile, Morel and the others are searching for Kai, hoping to find him alive. They have been looking for him for hours. They have encountered and defeated many chimera ants along the way, but they have not given up. They know that Kai is somewhere in the palace, and that he needs their help. They finally reach Zazan's chamber, where they see her dead body and Kai's unconscious form. They rush to his side, hoping that it is not too late.

Morel and knuckle first checks his health status. Morel noticed a hole that was oozing with venom, knowing this, he checked his enemy while reminding knuckle to check and be vigilant of their surroundings. Morel checked the body of Zazan and looked for any of the remaining scorpion tail to make an antidote to cure the venom of Kai.

Morel then quickly pulled out his phone from his pipe, where he had hidden it from the enemy's detection. He dialed the number of Hunter headquarters, hoping that they would answer. He had to report what he found in the chamber room, and request medical attention for Kai.

"Morel, is that you?" A voice came through the phone.

"Yes, it's me. I have an urgent report and a request. We have found Kai, but he is in critical condition. He has been poisoned by Zazan, one of the royal guards. He needs immediate medical attention, or he will die." Morel said, speaking in a worried and urgent tone.

"What? Kai is poisoned? How did that happen?" The voice asked, sounding shocked and concerned.

"He fought Zazan in her chamber, and he managed to kill her. But she stabbed him with her stinger before she died, and injected him with her venom. He is unconscious and bleeding, and his pulse is weak. We don't know how much time he has left." Morel said, explaining the situation.

"That's terrible. We have to save him. He is one of our best hunters, and a hero. Where are you now?" The voice asked, sounding determined and hopeful.

"We are still in Zazan's chamber, on the third floor of the palace. We can't move him, or he will worsen his condition. We need someone to come here and treat him, as soon as possible." Morel said, pleading for help.

"Okay, okay. Don't worry, we will send someone right away. We have a team of medics and hunters on standby, ready to assist you. They will be there in a few minutes. Just hang in there, and keep Kai alive." The voice said, reassuring him.

"Thank you, thank you so much. Please hurry, we don't have much time." Morel said, feeling grateful and anxious.

"We will hurry, don't worry. Just stay calm and alert. And tell Kai that we are proud of him, and that we are coming for him." The voice said, ending the call.
