PROLOGUE: The Scanner, the Stars and the Solar Flare

Year 2035, the genius inventor Alexander dela Cruz, discovered that the sunrays can be converted as a scanner. He called it Sunray Scanner or simply SCS.

SCS uses laser to convert the sunrays to scan literally everything – from a simple pebble on a riverbank, a wildflower on a sidestreet, to every human on earth. It collects data then annalyzes using an intelligent AI. The AI then compresses the data collected to simple yet easy to understand string of words.

The SCS can determine the composition of a certain material (for example, how much carbon there is to a certain material), population count, state of an individual for example his health. It can also use for mapping, not dust a simple map but a 3D map.

Year 2039, the nearest star system on Earth, the Alpha Centauri suddenly starts to move out of its orbit. Its stars, the Rigil Kentaurus, theToliman and the Proxima Centauri, derailed from their orbit and seemingly attracts to a point where they'll meet.

Year 2040, the SCS was sent to the outerspace to constantly scan and monitor the earth. This starts the peaceful days on Earth. The government uses the data gathered to to solve crimes. They easily captured criminals since the crime they commited were recorded and their images were captured in 3D.

Environmentalists also uses the data to monitor the endangered species. Poachers were captured; the animals were rescued and released back to the wild.

Weather forecasts became more precise. Meteorologists used the SCS to monitor storms. This led to less casualties.

Year 2042, SCS2 was developed which can scan even at night using the remnant solar energy.

Year 2043, SCS3 was developed and can scan the deepest ocean floor. This results on discovering new species, species that are known to be extinct, shipwercks and more. The ocean was now finally mapped.

2046, the stars of Alpha Centauri collides. The collision of the three stars lead to a massive explosion that brightens the night sky. The explosion was so bright that the night became only less brighter than the day. This lasts for months.

The explosion's shockwave travelled far until it reaches our solar system in the year 2051. It does not directly affect the earth because the sun shielded it. Scientists celebrated because of it but what they didn't know, it is just the beginning. The peaceful days of earth comes to an end.

The shockwave shaked the sun. The sun then released a massive solar flare. Luckily, the earth has a natural protection, its magnetic field, but it does not prevent the all of the solar flare's energy − an energy that did not exist before.

During the week 1 of bursting of the solar flare, all of the small electronic devices failed to function. On the first day, smartphones explodes one by one, computers malfunctioned, cars won't run. After a few days, even the high end electronics, the ones used by the various governments stopped working. This caused a massive mayhem across the globe.

Week 2, the SCS explodes due to too much sun energy. Not just the SCS but also other satellites

Week 3, plants started to mutate. They start to grow at a fast rate. Some trees even grow up to a hundred meters.

Week 4, animals got their turn. They got bigger, more ferocious; pets attacked their owners. Creatures only found on novels emerged.

Week 5, many countries went down, especially those with rich biodiversity. South East Asia, Australia, Africa, South America and many more countries became danger zone. Only those with high military prowess stands. Billions of people died.

Week 6, humans' turn to evolve. Some can manipulate fire, some were water, some got super strong. But what really makes humans' evolution unique is the status window just like in the games. Every human got their own.

The most accepted theory why they got status window was because of the SCS. Since the SCS uses sun energy, when it explodes, its ability to scan mixed with the solar flare, this gives every human their own status window.

The evolved humans helped their nations to fight the beasts. People called them hunters.

Five hundred years after the apocalypse, hunters became the core member of humanity. They founded the Hunters' Guild – the most prestigious association on earth.
