6 6. Phase 1- Continue.

Everyone started walking behind Mr.Satotz. he kept on walking and immideatly he increases the pace of his walking and everyone also started to run behind him.

By seeing his walking posture some may think he is walking just a little bit faster but in reality it was great increase in speed and some others couldn't even keep up with us.

After seeing this I was even more relieved that I decided to drop attending the hunter exam previous year. If this was task of the previous year I would have been like them and would be the first one to be dropped out without much stamina and endurance to run even this far not to mention that the first phase includes to run 80km to reach the Swindlers swamp and after a short break to run again in the marsh land where even more strength, stamina and endurance is required.

We kept on running and after 2 hours the proctor Satotz increased his marching pace once more. By this time more than half of the applicants have already dropped out. I can even see Tonpa paying Amori brothers money for helping him make the grease haired nerd drop out due to lack of self confidence that the exam is not going according to his data prediction.

I see that Killua was skateboarding past Leorio.

"Hey kid show some respect to the hunter exam that's cheating this is an endurance test" Leorio yells

"No it isn't" Gon replies from behind.

"Who's side are you on" Leorio asks Gon.

"The proctor only asked to follow him not how" Gon replied and Leorio couldn't retort to this statement of Gon.

Seeing Gon, Killua slows his skateboard and asks " hey how old are you" to this Gon replies" I'm 12 years old" " same age as me"Killua tells lightly "Then I will also run for a while" Killua tells as he gets down the skateboard while flipping it to his hands at same time. They start running ahead Killua tells "see you old man" to Leorio.

Leorio was immediately got angry at Killua's statement and yells "I not old man. can't you see I am only a teenager like you, brats these days".

Some time later Leorio starts to get tired and and pants heavily and starts to have second thoughts anout continueing the exam and stops running. we all also stopped and waited for Leorio "leave him, we must continue forward" Killua tells Gon but Gon didn't reply but kept staring at Leorio.

Leorio seeing this gathered his courage "I am gonn a be a hunter if it's the last thing I do" he yells and starts to run forward. Gon cast his fishing line to get Leorio's suitcase and start running after this.

I smile at these scenes inwardly. even as a anime I watched hunter x hunter tens or so time and even once I got bored, if I didn't have an untimely death who knows how many more times I would have watched this anime and now I get to experince it first hand and seeing and experiencing is completely different things. It still fells like I am in a dream. but even if it's a dream, even a long one I don't want to wake up from it.

Just as I thinking about these feelings already 7 hours have gone by and Satotz is making his way up the stairs that leads us to swindlers swamp. And Gon and Killua makes a bet about who reaches finish line first.

As we run we got close to Kurapika. Seeing Leorio's determination to pass the exam Kurapika asks about the reason why Leorio wanted to become a hunter. Kurapika tells about his reason for being a hunter (A/N: At first I thought Kurapika as a girl untill I watched Yorknew auction arc where Leorio mentions Kurapika as him... just wanted to get this out of the system). and tells his evaluation of Leorio, Leorio blurts out about his friend and explained about his reason.

"Guys enough of the deep feelings pun intended, lets move on we are about to reach the top" I tell a stupid pun to lighten up the moment, we three smiled at my stupid pun attempt and starts to run. Just then Gon and Killua reached us. Gon asked if we could join them but Kurapika tells to go ahead.

" See you at the top old man" Killua once again makes fun of Leorio. "Can't you see I am also a teenager like you" Leorio yells loudly and the tree of them were stunned for a moment that they literally froze in the air.

"hahaha" I got a good laugh at looking at their stunned faces.

Recovering from the stun Gon and Killua runs ahead of us. I didn't intend to follow them to a race. They both are having fun in the exam and they both will be ignored most of the time even if they showed their strength. Many participants can do better than them in the exam like Hisoka, Illumi, Hanzo and even me but in a small margin but they let the children have the win because they and even me are wary of each other's strength and weaknesses and this is also one of the reasons when after the second phase the proctors were discussing about who are more likely to pass the exam this year they didn't even consider Gon and Killua seriously.

Comming to my senses from my distracted thoughts we were almost at the top and Gon and Killua had already passed the mark and were talking to Satotz.

One by one everybody made it the top.

By this time only less than two hundred participants were left int exam. remaining were too exausted to even make it this point.

We got a short break untill the second part of the first phase to begin.

Satotz was checking his wrist watch to check the time to start the second part of the exam. Just as the time was up the door behind us started to close.
