3 Chapter 2: Sabotage

In the middle of the night, a loud tearing sound awoke Eldred who had chosen to sleep under the stars rather than below deck.

When he approached the mast where the sound originated from he quickly looked around and under the faint glow of the moon he saw a man dressed in black cutting the ropes of a already torn up sail.

"Hey!" Eldred shout as he jumped onto the mask and started to climb, only holding onto the groves where previous repairs was done.

The man was taken back as Eldred quickly arrived at the top of the mast only a few meter away, and with a swing of his rather sharp knife the last rope was cut giving the man a way to escape down, as he grab the rope and jump down a knife was tossed towards Eldred as a hope for distraction.

But Eldred wasn't fased by the man's action and simply hopped down and once again started the chase.

Seeing a child jump off a mast that was 120ft high and chase after him like nothing is wrong gave him enough motivation to run faster but he didn't expect that Eldred wasn't the only one that heard the sound.

In front of him stood, Ulf with his blood red hair, imposing height and body; as Ulf took a fighting stance the man dressed in black gained confidence, why you ask ? Ulf was trembling non-stop.

His fist couldn't stay steady, legs were wobbling as if he had no muscles to support himself and if he wasn't clenching down onto his teeth they would have been rattling.

They man pulled out a switchblade,"get out of they way" but Ulf didn't move he stood his ground," i said move"

Seeing no other option as Ulf was blocking the way down and he didn't want to face the monster of a child. The man quickly swung the short blade at Ulf open stance.

The moment the blade was swung, Ulf body stopped the trembling and he dodged the blade by leaning back then countering with a cutting right knocking the man out cold.

"what's going on" Ulf asked in a calm tone and he took the man's mask off.

Eldred point to the direction of the ruined mast bringing Ulf attention to it," i caught him destroying it-" taking a closer look at the man he tried to recognize who it was but Eldred kept coming up with a blank"- do you know who this is?"

"ain't got a clue"

"i know who it is" a person said walked over to the two

Eldred couldn't help but to stare with awe at the person as he came into the moonlight, he was wearing what seems to be a fully-body shark pajama that was equipped with a hood that had eyes, teeth and a fin on the back.

"well who is he" Ulf asked as he watched the man pour himself a glass of wine.

" a member of the crew, he tried to take my wine from me a few hours ago,"

"but why would someone from the crew cut the sails... that would leave us stranded unless they have-"

"that's the point" the man in the pajama said as he offered Eldred and Ulf wine they both shook their head refusing the wine," now what shall we ever do"

"inform the crew" Ulf said as it was the first thing that popped into his head,, tell the others so that they can work together and maybe find out what's going on

His idea was shot down right away " no anything but that" pajama man said as he facepalm himself" we have to keep it a secret and they will find out in the morning"

The two begun to argue going back and forward to why they should or shoulden't tell, it started off with them using logic but it ended the moment Ulf insulted Silas ( the man wearing the shark pajamas name is Silas) fine choice of night wear.

"Those shark pajamas... they suit your taste and age... you immature fuck" Ulf shouted mocking Silas pajamas and his fluffy pink-bunny slippers.

"i see you have no taste in fashion" Silas said in a clam tone, but it lead off into a shout " it is missing... just like your soul"

As much as Eldred loved their arguing, he the 13 year old had to put a stop to it,"Silas is right" Eldred said as he searched the man's body," if we tell them. it will just cause a panic and what good would that do"

Silas smirked and glare at Ulf and he said "the only person who we have to inform is the captain and he probably already know" in a proud tone.

Eldred completely agree with Silas, Eldred knew something would happen during the first part but he always thought it would be something simple like pirates or even a small storm like the one Gon went through.

That was one of the reasons Eldred chose to go to the exams location via ship instead of blimp or train, not much could go wrong but the bastard of a Captain chose to destroy the sails leaving the only option being to row the ship or wait for the wave to carry them to their next stop port Val.

After searching the man, the three hog tied the man after taking all the man's clothes off leaving only his under wear and to add a nice touch Silas added a bow to his hair and a few scribbles or nonsense on his face, on his right and left cheek had a ball and going up be middle a cylinder was drawn connecting the shapes together.

"Captain", Ulf shouted out as he barrage into the Captain quarters," The The sa-sails have have be-been cu-cut"

The captain looked at them with his lazy eyes and said,"okay, i'll deal with it tomorrow" and he then shut the door.

"damn damn it it"

Eldred looked at Ulf who begun to stutter and tremble again in confusion and started to wonder what was going on with him, but the only thing that came to mind wasn't possible or shouldn't be possible.
