10 Human-Mantis - First Battle - Chapter 10

After the sound from the forest, two creatures emerged from the forest, there is only twenty meters distance between them and Alisa and Marcus.

The creatures looked like a bigger version of Praying Mantis, they are the same size as a tall human and this was the only difference between them and normal humans.

Of course, there are still physical differences, as Alisa saw these creatures he looked at Marcus and started talking.

"These are "Human-Mantises" their speed is high and with their claws they can easily cut you into the two, you deal with one and I will deal with the other one"

As her words were over the two Mantis started running towards them, one of them went for Alice and the other one went for Marcus.

Marcus listened to the words of Alisa and took a deep breath.

After he took the fresh breath, he concentrated his nen on his feet and started running towards another side, where the area is cleaner without grass and naturally flat.

The speed of the Human Mantis was not slower than Marcus, as it kept tailing him, and easily reached him,

Marcus then looked at the big-eyes of the Mantis and used his aura to make some sort of intimidation, but it was not working on the Mantis Creature.

The creature, after looking at Marcus for about one to two seconds started running and lunged at Marcus with his claws.

Marcus just side-stepped and counterattacked with his other leg, attacking the side of the Mantis with his Gyo-Powered Leg.

"Baamm" (SFX)

Marcus hit the side of the Mantis, it made the Mantis back away and take damage, but the creature itself has no clear damage in the naked eye.

"This creature is strong against, blunt attacks like punches and kicks"

Marcus thought inside of himself. This was his first real battle in the universe of "Hunter x Hunter" and he was thinking that he has to use this opportunity to earn more battle-experience.

So that in the future he will not go to have a problem of taken down by a weak nen master just because of the experience difference.

After Mantis got hit by the kick of Marcus, it was not damaged too much but it was angered. Marcus did not shock why a random creature is strong and can fight against "Nen Master" like him because, in the end, he knew about the "Chimera Ants" and "Dark Continent"

Maybe this creature is from the Dark Continent, but right now he had no time to think about this subject.

As he was thinking the Mantis attacked again, this time it attacked from the left side, and used it is nimble legs to attack with making fakes,

Marcus expected this much intelligence and used "Gyo" on his feet to and jumped to the sky,

he jumped because he wanted to evade the attack without any harm, but it was not easy like that

Mantis was not a fool creature, when it attacked Marcus from to side it is instinct told him that the prey has the chance of jumping and escaping from it is attacked.

Because of that after Marcus jumped, the Mantis jumped too and slashed it is claws to his head with a direct approach, because Marcus was in the sky, and there are still two seconds of fall time, he had no time to evade the attack.

Marcus just gulped and protected his head and whispered.

"Ko"

Marcus used "Ko" on his two arms to block to incoming slashing attack.
