2 Permission?

"I can't leave this place without permission Joki."

"Permission? Permission from who?" I asked.

"Anyone really, I just needed a reason. A reason to want to go out."

He then continued, not leaving me with any time to answer.

"How about you give me permission to follow you? Yes? Yes."

-------------

(1 Hour Earlier)

"Wakey wakey little blue friend!"

I think I heard something. Was that a voice?

Who... who was that?

"Helloooooooooooooooooo"

"He...ll..oo?" I tried to speak but my voice just wouldn't come out. my eyes flutter open but I was surprised to see my surroundings, it was all...in the color Blue? I didn't have time to think since I was interrupted by sudden stabs on the side of my head.

* tap, tap, tap* "Knock Knock Knock Anyone in there?" said a pale man. The man was very unusual, his hair was very unkept, covered by a blue top hat. Not to mention his weird outfit, which was a striped blue white suit with a blue bow tied around his neck. Yes, tied. The man had really long bony fingers, his pinky alone was as long as the length from the tip of my middle finger to my wrist! Not to mention his fingernails were sharp too. When he had 'tapped' my head, it felt like a freaking stab!

"Stop...stabbing...me!" I shouted with all my might but it seemed like only a whisper came out. I need water, I'm too dehydrated.

"Ooo! He moved! He spoke! He's awake! he's awake! he's awake! Marvelous? Yes? Yes! Haha" The man sounded delightful at my recovery as he danced around. I sat up straight, taking in my surroundings. It looked like a very childish bedroom. Everything here was quite miniature? The tables, chairs, curtains, dressers, they all look like they were meant for kids around the age of 2 to 4 years old. Even the bed I was on was smaller than my usual fit. The pictures on the walls were cartoon faces that I had never seen before and the toys were scattered all over the floor.

The most questionable thing here was why is everything literally so blue? Although they were in different shades, they still came from the same undertone.

"Who...are you?" I asked warily. The man had finished his dance long ago. He was just staring at me eagerly now. I just noticed how hollow his eye sockets were and how wide of a smile he had, as he just sat in his small chair and just stared at me. How creepy.

"Me? ME? Who am I? Am I who? I am Who? You? You are who? Who are you? " he asked with a wide motion of his hands as he looked at me questioningly.

"What are you even...talking about?" seriously what was wrong with him?

"Talking about? about what? about talking? I love talking! What do you want to talk about?" He got nearer to me by shifting his small chair closer and closer. The look of excitement on his face creeped me out.

"...where am I?" I questioned as I slowly shifted away from him.

"Where are you? Where you are? You are here? See *Tap. Tap. Tap.* hehe here you are! Yes? Yes!" He stabbed my head again! It hurt so bad!

"Where is here?" Though I winced in pain and felt slightly annoyed, I could only hold it in. After all, I was in an unknown place.

"Here? here is where we are? We are here!" he stood up and spun around with that annoying creepy face he had.

"(cough)....May I have some water?" I ignored his last comment and just asked for a glass of water. My throat couldn't handle all the talking anymore.

"Water? Want water? But you already have water? want more?"

He looked at me as if he was looking at an idiot! What the hell!

"Huh?"

But there it was. A glass of water that had fit perfectly in the palms of my left hand. Where did this come from? Had it been here since the very beginning? I slowly took a sip until I finally chugged the whole glass empty. It was the most delicious water I ever had!

"This water is very delicious!" I said looking at the man who was staring at me so intently. He didn't say anything, just smiled and silently stared at me without blinking. Which had made me wonder did I ever see him blink before? I'm sure he had. Right?

"Um...You have a very nice home sir. Everything is so... blue?" I decided to play it safe. This man feels dangerous.

"Blue? you don't like blue? Blue likes you! You are blue! I am blue too! We are all blue!" Why can't he just answer me normally? I guess the world is wide huh. There were so many kinds of people in the outside world.

At this point, I felt tired of questioning him. After all, he would probably just answer me with something weird again. Placing the glass on the small bedside table, I got out of bed. I noticed that I was not in my normal clothes, but was in a soft silk blue pajama. what a surprise

I then walked around the room while avoiding all the toys on the floor. With the man still staring at me, taking in all my actions. At the corner of my eyes, I saw a door! Great! 'Now I can finally get out of here!' I thought.

Walking towards the door, I reached out my hand and tried to open it. The door would not budge.

"Huh, why is it locked? Wheres the key?" I mumbled and tried to search around the room. But I was shocked to see that the man was standing behind me.

"Lock? What is being locked? Key? What key?"He craned over me. I forgot how tall the man was. Even though the difference in height between an average adult and a child is very drastic, the man seemed taller than average adults! I didn't seem to notice because he was sitting earlier but his legs did bend weirdly the whole time. Why didn't I notice that?

"The door. The door is locked." I didn't want to admit but I was definitely terrified of this man. However, I tried to keep my calm, to show him that I was not afraid.

"Door? What door?" Tilting his head he looked at me confused. I was also confused by what he had asked. I turned my head only to see the door that was originally there had been replaced with a wall. As if there was no door there at all!

"huh?" Utterly terrified I ran my hands on the wall. I swore there was a door there! I know it! But how! How did it suddenly disappear? I panicked! What the hell was going on?

"How do I get out of here?" with my back against the wall, I questioned him without hiding any of my hostility.

He, however, smiled showing those crooked teeth of his as he said,

"Out? Why out? Out is no good? Stay here? Yes? Yes."

"No, I need to go out, my parents need me!" I shouted. It finally dawned on me that this guy wanted to keep me here!

"Parents? What parents?"

"My Parents!"

I shouted angrily.

"Your parents? No, No, No, No parents for you"

What do you mean by that?

'Ugh...This is stupid...I bet this is all just a dream and I'm going to wake up. Yes, wake up.' I thought to myself

"Dream? What dream?" I was so caught up that I didn't realize he had read my mind!

"This! Everything here is a dream! Everything is not real and You...You are not real!" I shouted and pointed at him. Clearly, my anger had reached its peak.

"This? Dream? No no no this no dream. Me? What about me? Real? How can I not be real?"

"Stop talking like that! You are irritating!"

"My name is not irritating, you are confused, my name is Maddy, nice to meet you? How do you do? Um, who are you?" Maddy said as he reached out his hand for a handshake. He acted as if we were meeting for the first time.

"Me? I'm ...my name is... " Stumped, I thought to myself, what was my name? How is it that I couldn't remember? Now that I think about it, Who am I? I kept thinking that I needed to save my parents but...I can't even remember their names nor their faces!

"Why...Why can't I remember my parents?

Even my own name! My age? How old am I? What's wrong with me? Who am I?" Tears had started forming in my eyes as I clenched my hands.

"No, no, no, not my problem. I can't even remember my own name. Yes? Yes." Maddy shook his head and sighed.

"BUT YOU JUST SAID YOUR NAME WAS MADDY!" I frustratedly cried.

"Did I? Are you sure? You are not lying to me are you?" giving me a look.

"NO, good God! What in the world is wrong with you! I have no time for this, I need to find my way out! Somebody needs me out there!"

"No, they don't."

"Yes, they do!"

"They don't."

"THEY DO!" I scream so loud that my vocal cord nearly broke.

We argued back and forth like kids. quite fit the theme of the room I should say.

"Shut up Joki nobody asked for your opinion!" crossing his arms, Maddy arrogantly puts his chin up high.

"Who the heck is Joki??" I shouted angrily.

"You are!" he danced around and pointed at me. Revealing those ever crooked teeth.

"You named me, I named you. Simple," he said as if it was that simple. Maddy then proceeded to turn around and walk away.

"Wait, where are you going?" I asked.

"Out?" Maddy stopped and turned towards me, confused.

"Out where?"

"Out there, I'm going out there. Yes? Yes." He nodded his head confirming his own statement.

But you said outside was no good!

"How?" I held my anger and asked. It was more important to get out than to bicker like before.

"By using the door? Yes? Yes."

"What door?" There was no door anywhere! I already checked. What crap was he talking about!

"That door?" He pointed behind him. As I shifted my gaze to where he had pointed. I had a painful headache. There it was, a door! A normal sized door was there! Disregarding everything I rushed towards it. I didn't care if I was in a hallucination or something, I just needed to get out of this damn place!

"WHY! WHY IS IT LOCKED??" I slammed my fist against the door and tried to pull or push it. It didn't even budge!

"We use the key? Yes? Yes." Maddy responded.

"WHAT KEY!? THERE. IS. NO. FUCKING. KEY!" I screamed word per word.

"No key? No key? Do you have the key? Yes? Yes."

"NO I DON'T."

"Yes you do"

"FINE! WHERE IS IT THEN?" I gave up. I just wanted to get out of this place.

"There?" Maddy said as he pointed toward the doorknob. Again I was dumbstruck. A key was hanging there. I felt like it was mocking me. Was this it? Was I really going crazy?

"FOR FUCKS SAKE! THIS PLACE IS MAKING ME GO INSANE!" I screamed, punched and kicked the door a couple of times.

"No No No Insane is bad, Madness is good." Maddy did an upside down smile. Clearly unhappy.

"SHUT UP! SHUT UP! SHUT UP! WHAT ARE YOU EVEN TALKING ABOUT?" I really wanted to punch him.

"Insane is bad, Madness is good" he repeated.

"I'M NOT LISTENING TO YOUR NONSENSE ANYMORE"

I opened the door and left I thought he would follow me out but he didn't. He just stood at the door looking at me as he waved his hands slowly as if saying goodbye.

"You are not coming?" I stopped and shouted.

I thought he had wanted to go out? Even though he was annoying and felt dangerous, he didn't really do anything that had put me in harm's way.

"No no, Maddy can't leave this place." He said as he shook his head.

"Why?" I thought he wanted to go out? The door was open, he could go out if he wanted to.

"Maddy...been...abandoned. Nobody wants Maddy anymore. Maddy is all alone. Not like Joki...someone wants you out...there."

"I'm sure you noticed it too Joki. This room has the ability to turn you into a madman, and you were only here for a while. Yes? Yes. but for me, Joki, I don't know how long time had passed me."

I kept staring at him. Silently urging him to continue. I felt a tinge of guilt for all that I had thought badly of him before. He was just lonely and felt happy when he saw me. A bit creepy, but it was understandable.

"I can't leave this place without permission Joki."

"Permission? Permission from who?" I asked.

"Anyone really, I just needed a reason. A reason to want to go out."

He then continued, not leaving me with any time to answer.

"How about you give me permission to follow you? Yes? Yes."
