28 Light sparring

Time flowed forward like a river and one year made way for another and then another. The curriculum of Aquila School of Magic was a huge success. The minimum age requirement to graduate is 18 years old. Those who wished could take special courses like warding, politics and divination. There were more but that is not that important. If someone chose to take all courses it would take the person 10 years after starting their second year. One such case was Sandrine Chastain. She turned into a magnificent and proud butterfly from the rather timid caterpillar.
She became one of the most skilled witches of her year and continued to become the strongest witch of her time, if the Emperor's daughter, Evangeline hadn't been around. Sandrine quickly rose through the ranks and at the young age of 33 became the first female Minister of Magic of Cadia. She never stopped training and while every graduate of Aquila could use magic wandlessly, she took it to another level. Cadia held regular tournaments where any wizard or witch could participate. The winner got a reward of 20'000 Golden Thrones, which was the highest currency in the Imperium, and a recommendation from the Emperor himself which could be used in a job interview.
Sandrine Chastain led Cadia towards a brighter and wealthier future. She managed to handle the work between the magical and non-magical sides perfectly and would be known as one of the greatest Minister of Magic in the history of Cadia. But all good things must make way for other good things. This is a figure of speech in Cadia, meaning that there are seldom good things that make way for bad things, if ever. Since in Cadia, skill, loyalty and hard work were valued higher than those who had big fortunes, the Chastain family, became something akin to an aristocratic family.
The members of the Chastain family produced very talented and powerful wizards and witches over the centuries and were regarded as one of the most valued and impressive families of Cadia. Sandrine's brother also turned out to be a very skilled and talented wizard. He even participated in the trials to become a member of the Adeptus Magicae. But the requirements to become one were astronomically high. Nothing short of a powerful genius was allowed to become an Adeptus Magicae. Sandrine Chastain had the chance to become one and even did. She took the position of Minister of Magic, which was the only person apart from the Emperor himself, who could command the Adeptus Magicae.
The Adeptus Magicae were monsters in the art of magic. They could perform thousands of spells for hundreds of thousands of scenarios. They were masters of nearly all sorts of magical branches. The Adeptus Magicae were rather free to do what they wanted. They had to follow the missions given to them by the Minister of Magic or the Emperor himself. But if there was no mission, they could follow their interests.

The Adeptus Custodes continued their training with the Emperor. As the years passed, they managed to unlock all three types of Haki. Well, they managed to unlock it on the first day, but over the years, they became very powerful and proficient in the use of Haki. But look for yourself.
- In the Emperor's training room -
Three men could be seen in full armour, wielding powerful weapons and fighting to, what seemed like, death.
*BOOOOM*
A giant sword clashed with a special Guardian Spear. It was The Apollonian Spear, wielded by Constantin Valdor, the Captain-General of the Legio Custodes.

Their blades clashed and a powerful shockwave pushed everything away. But two other fighters were not pushed away. The other two Adeptus Custodes, the other two of the most powerful trio among the Custodes, weren't idle as the Emperor clashed with Valdor. Valdor was one of the most powerful, if not the most powerful fighters in the Imperium, second only to the Emperor. And that wasn't always the case. There was a time when he was the strongest. But the Emperor's talent which surpassed every human ever, caused him to go beyond what was considered possible.
Constantine Valdor as well as the other two Custodians, had genius talent in everything that concerned battle. They could use 'precognition' even before they trained in Observation Haki. They could reach into the Numerology of the Near Future" to predict the attacks and motion of enemies before they occur. This was the reason that allowed them to attain the second-highest mastery over Observation Haki, second only to the Emperor. This skill made them a nightmare to fight, as they seemed to read what you would do, seconds before it happened. Right now, after training and fighting for many centuries, all three had even surpassed the 10-second range.

The Emperor dodged a strike aimed at his head and then jumped to avoid another strike which was aimed at his legs, coming from Trajann Valoris and Valerian, the other two Custodes who were fighting. This put him in a bad position though as Constantin Valdor used this change and bad position to attack again. The Apollonian Spear descended towards the Emperor with Sub-Relativistic speeds. The most powerful of the Guardian Spears was coated in both advanced Armament Haki and Conquerors Haki.

The Emperor defended the only way he could, after seeing their clash's outcome he turned around in the air and blocked with his sword.
*BOOOOOM*
The momentum of the attack pushed the Emperor to the ground and caused a massive crater. But that wasn't all. Sensing an attack coming from Valerian, the Emperor used his massive strength, to push the Apollonian Spear away and then jumped out of the way.
*BOOOM*
The Watcher's Axe, wielded by Trajann Valoris smashed into the ground where the Emperor was before. The Watcher's Axe is a huge polearm blade that crackles with golden lightning and can bisect the sarcophagus of a Yginth, a true dragon, with a single swing. The axe's haft incorporates a master-crafted bolt weapon known as the Eagle's Scream, which fires E-metal-tipped penetrator bolts at a ferocious rate.

E-metal, also called Emperor-metal, is a metal which the Emperor created for the Custodes personally. It will be the most powerful and expensive metal in the world and also is in the top 10 of all metals in the Omniverse. Not only the Custodes' weapons but also their armour was made out of E-metal. It used to be an alloy, but more on that later.

Sensing another attack coming from the back and the side, the Emperor's sword changed into a massive golden spear, the Spear of Russ or the Dionysian Spear.

With a powerful swing, that caused the ground to break, the Emperor hit Valerian's Guardian Spear and threatened to overwhelm him. But in the next instance, Valdor appears next to his brother and uses his power to hit the Spear of Russ and stop Valerian from being bisected. All three pushed against each other but before the Emperor could, Trajann was upon him and forced the Emperor to use his left hand to block the Watcher's Axe.
*BOOOM*
The monstrous power of Trajann Valoris was blocked by the Emperor, but this was enough for both Valdor and Valerian to push on. Constantin Valor's Apollonian Spear split the air and went past the Emperor's defence, impaling him through his chest, just before the latter tried to move his upper body out of the way.
*Kchkkuu*
Blood splashed around.
The Emperor didn't make a sound. He was still holding on to Trajann's Watcher's Axe and blocked Valerian's Spear. He gripped the Watcher's Axe hard and then swung it, together with Trajann against Valdor, who hadn't taken out his spear from the Emperor's body. The two crashed together.
*BOOM*
Using his now free left hand, the Emperor held on to the Apollonian Spear, stopping Valdor from taking it out. This was an important action. Getting impaled was not even close form enough to kill a Custodian, let alone the immortal Emperor. But now that the Emperor had grabbed it, it stripped Constantin of his weapon and that was a disadvantage.
The Emperor pulled the Apollonian Spear closer and brought Constantin Valor within arm's length. The Emperor changed his stance and grabbed Valor by the face. He twirled his own spear around and aimed it at Valor. His Observation Haki was screaming at him about the danger, but he ignored it. A powerful uppercut came from Constantin Valor and hit the Emperor in the chin.
Unperturbed, the Emperor brought his spear down. At that moment, Trajann Valoris' Axe hit the Emperor's shoulder, cutting very halfway through his right lung and Valerian's Spear pierced his side, impaling his left lung and coming out the other side. But nothing stopped the Emperor's spear from impaling Constantin Valor's body and pinning him to the ground.
*BOOOM*

Like a bull who was seeing red, the Emperor clenched his fist and coated it in both advanced Armament Haki, Internal Destruction and advanced Conquerors Haki, Infusion. The first to end them all smashed into the pinned Constantin Valor's face.
*BOOOOOM*
He moved his head to the side, dodging the fist of Trajann Valoris. Then he somehow moved his almost severed right hand, took hold of the Watcher's Axe and pulled it out. Blood splashed around. Valerian had pulled his spear out and swung it diagonally to decapitate the Emperor, but that wasn't meant to be. Using his strength, Neoth swung Valoris into the trajectory of Valerian's spear.
*SCHLLIIICK*
The spear cut deep, almost cutting Trajann in half. The Emperor pulled the Custodes towards him again, punched the poor man in the stomach and then brought his knee up to his face, causing more blood to flow and several bones to break into many pieces. The Emperor pulled his leg up and then delivered a front kick using Trajann as a projectile and hitting him against his brother.
*BOOOM*
Having held on to Trajann's Watcher's Axe, he threw it forward. The dangerous blade smashed against Valerian's head and cut through his skull like paper, reaching deep into his brain and ending the fight for today.
*SPLASH*

Blood and gore were seen all around the giant training room. Although it might seem like it, no one was dead. The damage they had suffered was slowly healing, making them all stronger than they were before the fight. The Emperor's training room was inside a magical field, which pressured all of them. There was a set environment, that the Emperor chose at the start of the fight, to make it harder for everyone.
This included 100 times normal gravity, air as thin as it was in 11'000 meters height, heat that would melt normal metal and cold that would freeze any normal human being to death in seconds. There were different armageddon circumstances to simulate the most dangerous environments and battlefields.
There was also a reduced healing effect inside the room. This was necessary, due to the Custodian armour, which was handcrafted by the Emperor himself and while not as bulky as the originals were, was still rather bulky compared to the SPARTAN armours. The Custodian armours were some of the most powerful and impressive creations, which combined magic and technology.
The three Custodes' bodies were healing at a visible rate and after about 10 minutes they were standing in front of the Emperor again. Their broken and dented armour was also healed, again thanks to the Custodian armour.

"That was good. We have all managed to surpass our limits this month. Take some rest, the mind also needs that after fighting for a month straight. We will go visit another world soon, so prepare the others for that. That is all.", Neoth says and dismisses them.
Neoth was planning on visiting the world of One Piece since there was not much he had to do here in this world. His plans had already taken root and would result in him taking over the entire world soon. He was in no hurry. He was ready to move on and expand the Imperium. Soon, very soon.

Let's be real, we all wanted to see such a fight. And yes, they were fighting for an entire month nonstop. This might not seem like much, but the intensity was sky-high.
