56 Chapter 53: Misunderstood

Hermione quickly left Ilvermorny Castle and went in the direction she saw Sasaki go.

After walking for a few moments, she saw in the distance a figure sitting in a large fountain with no one around.

Moving closer she noticed that it was Sasaki.

Hermione was glad that he had not yet left the college like the others.

She didn't waste any time and quickly approached the fountain where Sasaki was and the instant she approached, he seemed to notice her presence as there was no one else around.

"Can I help you with something?" asked Sasaki giving her an annoyed look that made it clear that he had come to this desolate part of the college to be alone, so her presence was not welcome right now.

"Hey, sorry to bother you, I just wanted to talk to you a bit about what happened earlier" Hermione replied with a kind smile and ignoring the glare he was giving her, she knew that probably the last thing he wanted right now was to have to talk to anyone, let alone someone he barely knew like she.

"If it's to ask me about how I know all that black magic, I'm sorry to disappoint you but I'm not going to tell you so I'd rather you leave me alone."

"Well... you don't need to tell me about that, I just wanted to make sure you were okay, you know it was a difficult time earlier, and it's always good to talk a bit to relax," Hermione said putting on the kindest smile she could, but she was actually quite nervous not knowing how to continue the conversation.

It wasn't easy trying to talk to him, but she had already gotten used to Severus, so he wouldn't be much of a problem.

Sasaki first looked at her for a few seconds with annoyance and strangeness, until he sighed wearily.

"I'm not interested," Sasaki said calmly.

"This..., uh, um... fine... I understand, if at some other moment you want to talk about anything, you can talk to me, feel free to do it, yes?" said a little frustrated Hermione seeing that she couldn't have a conversation with him to try to help him and avoid him doing something stupid in a moment of anger.

She at least wanted him to have a chance to talk to her or someone before he did something that would end up putting him and his friends in danger.

"I appreciate it Prince, but look, I don't want to be hard with you, you're Severus' cousin and I respect him and all, but I'm sorry to tell you that I'm not interested in getting into a relationship with any woman at the moment, so I would appreciate it if you wouldn't keep trying," Sasaki said seriously.

Hermione nodded a little confused, it was strange that someone called her Prince, she still wasn't used to using that family name.

"I see...so...wait... What, a relationship?, I... I didn't..., nothing like that!, no, no, you completely misunderstood me" Hermione started trying to explain as soon as she realized that Sasaki had misunderstood.

"Huh?, so it actually wasn't like that, my mistake then, usually there would be no other reason for someone to suddenly try to approach me to talk when they barely know me, and even less would they insist so much on talking" Sasaki apologized without much effort since his face said that he really didn't care about the situation.

"I..., it was nothing like that, I just wanted to make sure that you wouldn't think of doing anything dangerous after what happened today" Hermione quickly replied, unable to believe that he actually thought that she was trying to talk to him because she had a crush on him.

'Since when can't one just want to talk to someone just to be nice, how did it go from being nice to insinuation' Hermione complained internally.

"Oh good, for the best, that's good to know, it would have been awkward otherwise" nodded Sasaki calmly.

"Well, never mind, so... do you mind if we talk about what happened today with those dark wizards?" Hermione just denied and then asked him, she didn't want to start a discussion with him.

'If Severus knew that I'm actually avoiding having a discussion, he would probably complain about why I don't do the same with him' Hermione thought with a slight smile as she remembered the many discussions she had with Severus since she came to this time.

The two of them kept arguing about all sorts of things, and Hermione would never admit in front of him that she enjoyed being able to converse and argue with him.

Severus was someone who actually understood and listened the things she said, not someone who argued without even understanding what he was talking about, and that made her always want to see his point of view on things.

"Alright, but tell me first, do you know who those dark wizards were, I didn't get to hear what they said when they started attacking everyone" Sasaki agreed, but obviously he did it to take the opportunity to see if he could get more information about the situation.

"Yes, I know who they were, but what would you do if you knew who they were?" asked Hermione slyly.

"Nothing I hadn't already done when we faced them," Sasaki replied calmly, making quite clear reference to when he and Severus killed those dark wizards.

"Do you intend to seek them out and try to kill them?" asked Hermione already knowing that this was possibly what Sasaki was thinking of doing.

"You know, at first I didn't see any similarities between Severus and you, but now I can tell that at least the intelligence of you two must actually come from the family, it's notorious the way you both have of getting information out of others" commented Sasaki after seeing the similarity Hermione's methods had to Severus'.

"Well, we have many things in common with Severus, as well as many things we disagree on" admitted Hermione.

"And I see that your ability to read and get information from people is also one of the many things you have in common" Sasaki compared them again.

" I mean, Severus knew instantly that I was a practitioner of dark magic like him, he even managed to make me tell him many things that I wouldn't have thought to tell anyone, and now you instantly realized my intentions and also seek to know if I pretend to accomplish them. No wonder you two are related."

"Maybe you're just easy to read," Hermione added without even thinking about it.

"Maybe, but if I was easy to read they wouldn't have taken so long to expel me from my previous school," Sasaki said dryly revealing new information that he obviously didn't care that she knew.

"I have to assume that has something to do with practicing the dark arts doesn't it?"

"As I said before, you and Severus have quite a bit in common, so tell me, Prince, do you want to give me a speech like you gave Severus when he killed those stunned dark wizards?" Sasaki asked with a bored look.

"Not really, although I don't agree with him, I can't deny that he has a point, and I can't deny you from doing something either, but I would rather avoid seeing a friend of Severus do something that could end up killing him" Hermione affirmed.

"I have no intention of getting myself killed, but I also have no intention of letting those dark wizards get away with it after putting Freyja in danger. They and their leader are going to pay for that, it doesn't matter if I have to take them out one by one, it will take as long as it has to take."

"Going against an entire organization of dark wizards doesn't sound like suicide to you?" asked Hermione, she knew from Severus that Sasaki was smart and wouldn't do things without thinking, no matter how angry he was, or so she hoped.

So far he had proven to be quite rational, even when you could tell he was filled with anger over what happened, he hid his mood quite well.

One of the advantages of those who are usually quiet and calm the whole time is that it's not easy to tell when they are happy or angry, as they don't usually show their emotions to others.

"Maybe so, but if they never find out who is killing them it shouldn't be a problem, besides the MACUSA authorities are not going to leave these dark wizards alone after today, the Aurors are going to look for them all over the country and they will only be able to hide like rats, soon they will be forced to act alone since if they act in a group they will be easily discovered. I just plan to take advantage of that to eliminate them one by one' said Sasaki calmly.

'Actually, it's not a bad idea, MACUSA is very effective in taking action against dark wizards, so it makes sense what he says, but it's a pity that these dark wizards are not from the USA, but from Great Britain, and there MACUSA can't do anything' thought Hermione.

"You seem to have thought of everything already," said Hermione.

"It's just the little bit I got to plan until you interrupted me."

"Yeah well...I apologize for that."

"If you really want to apologize you can tell me who those dark wizards were since you apparently know."

"Why would I tell you that knowing that you're going to do something as risky as going kill them on your own?"

"Sooner or later I'm going to find out who they are, but if you tell me now, I might be more willing to talk to you."

Hermione just sighed wearily.

"Those dark wizards are part of the death eaters," Hermione said.

"Death eaters?... strange, never heard of them in the USA, maybe new fans of the former dark lord Grindelwald?" wondered Sasaki.

"It's logical that you wouldn't hear of them since they're not from the USA."

"What do you mean, are they from another country, but why would dark wizards from another country come to the USA, it wouldn't make any sense for them to take the risk of coming to one of the most prepared countries to combat dark wizards?" said a confused Sasaki.

It was common knowledge in the magical community that MACUSA had taken great care to maintain order and security after all that had happened with Grindelwald.

The only way to calm people down and assure them that everything would be all right was to assure them that they were prepared to prevent the rise of any new dark lord.
