2 Chapter 2

"It's time." I whisper out loud to myself.

'It's been a long long two years since I woke up to this new life and finally, it's time to, as they say, step into the action proper.' I think as I watch Professor Snape rush into the hole under the Whomping Willow.

Following a few moments behind him, I can't help but remember the first couple of years I've spent in Hogwarts. Enjoying all the wonder and joys of this world while perfecting my magic, but also trying to stick to the background, helping whenever I could remain undetected.

"Expelliarmus!.."

Admittedly this was really only needed first year rather than second, what with the Locket being the only surviving anchor. The Chamber of Secrets never reopened without the Diary and really, the only annoyance was Lockhart.

'That was certainly a bitch to sit through for the entire year, without just offing the douchenozzle.' I thought as I walked up the stone steps in the small tunnel to the building above, hearing snippets of the events happening ahead of me. 'The books and movies really didn't do any justice to how much of a waste of air Lockhart truly was.'

With a slight swish of my wand, my form ripples as it goes transparent. The feeling of an egg going down my back as I hide my scent and the sound of my feet with a further twist, starting up the wooden stairs.

"Brilliant Snape.." I hear my father start, as I slowly come to the last of the steps to the room where things are soon to come to a much different outcome than this story originally played out to.

"Once again you've put your keen and penetrating mind to the.." Sirius continues as I slightly ponder the new reality that Sirius Black, was my father now. 'That's going to take some getting used to.' I think, as I watch the events unfold, waiting for my moment to step in.

I'd done a lot of thinking over the years of this new life and felt that this right here, was the most opportune moment to start to make the big changes to the timeline. The moment I could make the best changes for the best outcomes.

I had debated heavily on wether to allow Pettigrew to escape this night or not, and the changes that would occur if I stopped him from doing so.

On the one hand, letting him go would keep things for the most part the same, and the knowledge that gave to potentially set a trap for Voldemort and put him down at the end of next year.

But on the other hand...

'I wouldn't be able to live with myself putting both my new father, and Rose, through all that would entail.'

"...can only imagine what that must be like to endure. it's said to be nearly unbearable to witness but i'll do my best." Snape finishes his little rant, holding his wand to Sirius' neck. The relish in his voice apparent to everyone.

'They've both suffered enough.' My thoughts start to end as I slightly raise my wand behind Snape, waiting for exact moment to make the best impact.

'Gotta make an entrance.' I think.

'After all, I am the son of a Marauder now.'

"After.. you..." Snape almost hisses out with what is probably the greatest amount of joy he can stand to show.

"I think not." I calmly state, as with a flick to the left, Snape goes flying into the dusty bed, out like a light.

One could hopefully forgive Rose for the rollercoaster her mind has gone through in the last couple of minutes, not even counting the previous few hours. What with surprise after surprise things she thought she knew were being tested and she was having trouble knowing what to believe.

Here was a man she thought she could trust, telling her that Sirius Black wasn't the one to betray her parents. That someone with the name she saw on the map, was the true culprit.

Part of her wanted to dismiss their words, it was honestly little to go on, but her gut was telling her things might not be so simple.

'I have to know.' She thought as she slowly reached around behind Hermione for her wand.

'I can't let Snape get in the way of whatever is going on right now.' Rose firmed her shoulders as she prepared to get to the bottom of things.

"I think not."

But before she could, Snape suddently went flying and her thoughts ground to a halt, as a voice called out to the room. A form came into sight as ripples in the air came undone.

/

Hermione's day was not going as she thought it was going to when she woke up this morning.

Granted the pending death of Buckbeak was stuck in her mind a bit with how horrible the entire affair was, but doesn't compare to the current situation.

Although the punch to Malfoy's face will remain a highlight of her year.

'That Bitch' She let's herself think if only in her head, and only for a moment before things pull her back to the here and now.

The back and forth of the situation certainly wasn't helping things. Nor was her belief in the professors of Hogwarts. She had always held true to the fact that teachers were there to help their students. To give them knowledge and help them grow. To be trusted.

She had wanted to give Professor Lupin the benefit of the doubt when she found out he was a werewolf. Certainly Dumbledore would know and all this time he was still here.

But then here they were, Professor Lupin and Sirius Black. Talking about killing Rose, and most certainly her and Ron too.

Until yet again, the situation flipped as Professor Snape came up the stairs and gave her a bit of hope that things would be fine now.

"I think not."

'That voice...' Her thoughts ground to a halt, as Professor Snape was sent flying into the furniture at the other end of the room. A form rippling from the doorway at the top of the stairs.

A boy came into sight, and for a moment a small part of her mind couldn't help but notice certain similarities to the escaped convict in front of her, before more important things about this new turn of events pulled that thought away.

Black hair. Grey Eyes. A certain aura about him. An infuriating smirk whenever he would beat her in class on almost anything that she would deny to anyone that sent a flutter to her stomach. Oh she knew this boy quite well though she would never voice such to anyone.

"Jacob?" Her voice whispered out as she tried to make sense of what she was seeing.

Why was her secret crush here at this time and place. Stopping Professor Snape from bringing Professor Lupin and Sirius Black back to the castle.

No, this day certainly wasn't going as she thought it was going to.

/

The last couple of hours had not at all gone how he would have wanted them to go in Ron's opinion and ever since they left Hagrid's things had just gotten worse.

To be honest this whole year had not been going how he wanted. Ever since the entire debacle with the broom, things have been getting more and more strained between himself Rose and Hermione.

He would have thought Rose would have sided with him about Hermione getting her broom taken by McGonagall and at first she did.

But the next day things apparently changed and for some reason his opinion about Hermione was his alone and any time he tried to correct Rose's opinion about how it should be it only made things worse for him.

Then that demon cat killed Scabbers and Rose just wouldn't understand that it was Hermione's fault for not keeping it away in her room.

Things were supposed to be simple.

Come to Hogwarts. Become the 'Best Mate' of the Girl-Who-Lived. Show everyone what a great Wizard he was, how much better he was than his brothers. Eat all the food he wanted, though it wasn't his Mother's food it was still quite good.

Things weren't being simple.

It felt like he was being put aside as Rose and Hermione grew closer as they always seemed to side with each other and his opinion, the one that truly mattered, was ignored.

And now here he was, having been dragged away by what at first he thought was a grim, but had turned out to be Sirius Black, and then Rose and Hermione had come to save him like they should. But then Lupin showed up and they were saved, until they weren't and Lupin was with Black. Then Snape showed up, (the Greesy Git!), and apparently saved them until suddenly he wasn't, as he was now in a heap out cold as someone else is now here.

"I think not."

'Who the bloody hell is this?' Ron couldn't help but think.

/

"Jacob?" Hermione whispered as the dust settled and my form became fully visible.

"Hello Hermione." I calmly tell her as I give a small smile and a nod.

"Rose." Another nod.

"Ron." And another though my smile becomes a bit strained.

Turning slightly back to the two older men I give them both a moment to process the situation before I decide to throw more shit onto the pile.

"Professor Lupin." A nod.

"... Father."

Silence stretches for a good 10 seconds from everyone processing my words.

"The fuck?!" My 'father' eloquently states as I get the most delicious looks from everyone at my comment.

'Oh I am going to treasure this moment forever.' I think as I bask in the shock on everyones faces.
