Ch.40 Hermeowny

Before you guys start reading I just wanted to ask if it would be like appropriate if the mc looked like Gerard way from MCR from the start of 3rd year. Because the young Voldemort and him share some similar facial features, squared jaw and all. So Let me know and I'll post a pic as well.

And as always if you enjoyed the chapter let me know and throw some stones while you are at it. And I'm also starting to work on a new project.

I was sitting in the library with my study group oddly Hermione was missing today for some reason. I was studying the spatial manipulation book and I found many interesting things. The spell can't really be blocked like an apparition and it doesn't have a range limit. The gate spell can transport people as well as magic.

Like if someone used some magic on you and you make a gate in front of you the magic will go through and the gate and will not hit you, it may be the answer to the killing curse.

But the problem I keep running into is that the gate isn't really stable it opens for a second and then corpses into it. And I am unable to understand why is that happening.

I was deep in my research when Tori's voice rang in my ears "Harry what are you doing here?" I looked up and thought why is he here?

I offered him a seat and said "Have a seat, harry anything I can help with?"

He looked at me and was a bit pissed but then darted his eyes towards Tori and me and in a very gravely voice said "I want to talk to the both of you."

Tori then looked at me in confusion and I just shrugged my shoulders. She nodded and said, "Sure, what's on your mind?"

Harry shook his head and said, "Not here… come with me."

We then looked at each other and I didn't know why he was acting weird. We then followed him outside and Tori asked in a hush voice, "Do you think it's about that?". I shook my head and scoffed, "No, I don't think it's about that." We both had no clue as to what pissed him off so we just followed him to where he was taking us. He took us to an empty corridor on the second floor.

Tori looked around and asked, "What do you want to talk about?"

Harry looked at his sister and then at me and asked, "I want you to tell me what is going on between you two."

Tori looked at him and said, "N-nothing… we're just friends, right?." I nodded in agreement. It was odd for him to ask this question right now, I had for sure thought that he would talk about the duel thing.

Harry shouted "Don't lie to me!" Tori was now angry and he continued after taking a deep breath, "I know you two… are, dating." Tori's face was red as a tomato from embarrassment. But she stomped her feet and said, "NO WE ARE NOT… NO, NO,NO." I looked at her and to be honest it felt a little hurtful and it showed on my face and a look of relief on Harry's face which wasn't that long "I-It's not l-like that. I-I didn't mean it like that… you know." 

I nodded and she just shook her head and asked his brother, "Why are you even asking us this? Who even told you?"

Harry then looked at Victoria and said "You do know that he has another girlfriend right?"

Tori looked at me with murderous eyes and I looked at her and said, "That's the first I've heard of it…" I looked at Harry and said, "I don't even have A girlfriend, let alone two… though I am deeply touched by your confidence in me."

Tori stomped on my feet and Harry tried to show bravado and his care for her sister "You keep your trap shut!" But was instantly shut down by Tori, "You don't talk to him that way!"

Harry looked at her sister "He is cheating on you with your best friend in front of your eyes."

Tori thought about it for a moment and said, "Daphne?" Harry nodded and she continued, "We are just friends and why would you think that we are like that?"

Harry didn't say anything, Tori the started at him with a piercing cold eyes which I have been on the receiving end a whole lot more and he sighed and said "Draco told me."

I was confused and asked "You talked to Draco Malfoy." He nodded and then it hit me the poly juice potion has happened and he saw me with them yesterday and since Draco hates me he might have blown things out of proportion. Tori crossed her arms and asked, "And why did you believe him?"

Harry didn't have an answer but said "I just do okay and the way you are around him."

Tori's cheeks were getting flushed but she shook her head and had a stern expression on her face and asked, "How did you know about us Harry and I don't want any lies."

Harry grunted and shouted, "It doesn't matter! How I know, what matters is that you shouldn't be with someone like him!"

Tori's voice was ice cold, "Mind you tone Harry. I won't allow you to disrespect my friend… again."

Harry still not giving in and "No! I won't mind my tone! He is the reason why you have become more estranged from us to your own family. People call him the next Dark Lord for crying out loud. How can you be with such a person? I can't let you be with someone like him."

Tori scoffed and said indifferently "Let me tell you why there is a wedge between me and my family. "Our" family treats you as the prodigal son while you were less talented and deserving than me in every way imaginable.

When you started to learn magic I was already brewing potions which were higher level for anyone our age. When you were busy playing with your dumb as coconut friends. I was working with mom learning the duties of a House head…" Her voice trembled and tears were starting to pool in her eyes "Just in case." A sad smile was on her face while Harry had a look of realisation.

She stopped and took a breath and wiped her tears and said " 'Just in Case' that you don't want to be the House head. I wasn't even the first choice. I was the contingency Harry! The second in all, things. All I had ever gotten from anyone is pity and fake praises, Harry.

You don't even have to try and people roam around you singing your praises . You are worshipped as the saviour of the wizarding world, the one who vanquished the Dark Lord. While I had to work… so hard to get a fragment of recognition that you get.

Even when I thought that someone was genuinely interested in knowing me, they'd just used me to get to you. Do you know how hard it was for me to be treated like that, like table scraps of the family… to feel like whatever I ever do… I am never going to be your equal no matter what I do?

But he is different... he just saw me as Victoria, as his friend, my own person and not as your sister. He accepts me even though Dad and you do nothing but try to make him feel unwelcomed, I was the first person he told when he was taking up those names and I accept him the way he is… because he is a good person who genuinely cares for me. My heart sank when I heard he was going to be in Slytherin, so I begged the hat to put me in Slytherin because I wanted to be with him and away from you Harry.

And let me tell you what this person has done for you." But she stopped and chuckled, "I'm not even going to bother with that… because you just don't care, you're used to it, people bending backward to cater to you, but he did it because you were my brother."

She walked up closer to him and looked straight in the eyes and said, "So don't you dare disrespect him, and don't say that he is bad. And as far I am concerned I don't need your approval as to who I can and can't be with." She grunted and in a wishper said, "I WILL DO WHATEVER I WANT."

Harry was shell shocked and wanted to say something but Tori grabbed my hand and we left. I wanted to say something to Harry to reassure him. It's not easy to handle a truth bomb that big.

Why is it that whenever there is a chance for them to be in the same team something happens and they both are left on the opposite sides? I feel that all of this is my fault but I can't blame myself. I just hope that they can reconcile but I would hate to see a family break apart.

(In Slytherin Common Room)

Victoria didn't come for dinner so I was concerned for her. I reached the common room as fast as I could and saw her on the sofa. She was just mindlessly staring at the fire pit watching the flames consume the wood. I walked up to her and asked "Want some pudding?"

She looked up and sighed, "I am not hungry."

I smiled and sat down beside her and said, "That's why I offered pudding and not food."

She turned around and took it and just ate and said "I don't want to talk about anything that had happened today."

I scrunched my eyebrows and said, "What happened today?"

She just softly said, "Thank you."

I nodded and pursed my lips and said "No need to thank me for anything. Now finish that pudding I have more for you to eat." We didn't talk about anything that night she just ate pudding and I just thought about her and Harry and their relation was every relationship like this?

(The next day)

Tori was still not in a talking mood, not even with me. she said she was fine and just wanted some time alone so I just asked Daphne to look after her. I didn't want to but I felt that I was responsible for it so I couldn't help myself.

I was on my way to the hospital wing I wanted to see Hermione, since the poly juice thing happened earlier than it was supposed to. I was concerned about her even though I told her about the potion making process she messed up with the hair and besides I would be lying if I said I didn't want to see her in the cat form, that was basically one of the most important things many people would want to see in the Harry Potter universe, I mean how can you not?

I walked into the Hospital wing As I entered hospital wing I walked up to Madam Pomfrey and asked: "Madam where is Hermione Granger I heard she is sick."

Madam Pomfrey said without thinking, "She is there." While pointing to her bed. Then she remembered what had happened and said in a hurry "I can't let you go close to her. The disease is contagious. It's better if you stay away."

I scrunched my eyebrows and said "I will stay far away from her and will cover my nose and mouth. Just let me meet her."

She pursed her lip and shook her head and said "I don't think that is a good idea. You should just go."

I had a defeated look on my face I shrugged my shoulders "Fine but at least give her my regards." she sighed in relief but the relief was short-lived I spotted a tail coming out of the comforter, I pointed at the tail and said "Madam?" she nodded and I said, "Why does Hermione have a tail?"

Hermione then tried to hide it but I asked her adamantly while moving towards her bed "Hermione why do you have a tail?"

Madam tried to stop me, "Nonsense there is no tail."

I walked up to her bed and said "No I definitely saw a waving tail. It was like that of a ginger cat." I saw the tail and ears poking out lightly and said with a wide grin "Hermione cat's out of the bag now give up" and she grunted and got up and waved at me and I waved back, She looked cute by the way. But she looked like she was performing in the cat musical.

Madam slumped her shoulders and said, "Try to be quiet and don't attract any attention, and keep this a secret."

I nodded and said in a hushed voice "I am will certainly try madam."

I asked Hermione "Why are you a cat and more importantly can I pet you?"

She scoffed and said, "No!" and then she explained what had happened and I laughed and said "That is a hilarious joke, Hermeowny. Draco is the heir of Slytherin good one." She was now angry and sort of hissed at me

She crossed her hands and puffed her cheeks and asked, "Who do you think it is then?"

I scrunched my eyebrows while sighing and said, "Have you suspected any other pureblood students in houses other than Slytherin?"

Hermeowny said, "No, we didn't think that any other House would do that."

I said "You could be wrong. While you are focused on one house the perpetrator could have been in another house this whole time, away from the prying eyes."

Hermeowny was surprised and I sneaked my hand on her and touched her head, it was very soft and bouncy, she got angry and swatted my hand away and asked, "You think that is possible?"

I rubbed my hand and smirked, "That's a paw-sibility." She didn't look happy.

I tried to sneak my hand to get in some pets but she shot my hand down and she said "No! I am not letting you pet me like a cat."

I chuckled and mockingly said, "That's not nice, I just gave you a good insight into the predicament." I tried to sneak my hand and touched one of her ears

She slapped it down and said "No!"

I scrunched my eyebrows and said "Bad kitty, bad kitty. So, I think I should be going now… looks like it's time for your nap." She picked up her and threw it in my face. I picked it up and placed it back on her bed.

I dusted my clothes and started to walk away and said, "I'll come again to visit you and next time I am bringing a ball of yarn and some catnip to take that edge off."

She hissed and huffed said in almost an animalistic growl, "Don't!"

I laughed and said "See you Hermewony and call me if you need any help… you know like brewing a potion and all…" she hissed and threw the pillow again and I walked out of there laughing.
