7 C6 Boy-who-lived, and the Boy-who-was-found

Potter cottage | October 31st 1981 | 7 PM

"No! Please not Harry!" Lily screamed as Voldemort inched closer to Lily and Harry who was in her arms.

"Step aside girl, I said I would leave you alive, but if you get in the way of this great lord, I can no longer guarantee your life."

"Please," Lily pleaded, "Take me. Spare Harry."

Voldemort pointed his wand at Lily Potter and said, "Avada Kedavra."

A flash of green blinded Harry. He started crying. Voldemort turned towards Harry, and looked at his rival. Harry was also curious, and stopped crying and focused on the person in front of him. Harry was chubby, and his hair was messy, but his cute appearance didn't deter Voldemort.

"Avada Kedavra."

Flamel Manor | October 31st 1981 | 8:00 PM

Charlus, who was in a coma for 4 years stirred, showing the signs of movement for the first time in months. The only other times he showed movements were when he was convulsing, as his body slowly adapted to the Phoenix blood in his body. This movement was not missed by Maxy, who was assigned by the Flamels to watch over Charlus.

Maxy immediately popped away to the Flamels, and when they came back to the room, they saw a 4 year child looking curiously around him, and walking around, at least trying to, and exploring around him.

"We can't just give him away to Dumbledore like this Nicholas. He is socially inept, he's a baby in the mind! How could we not see this?"

Perenelle realized that if Charlus was sent to Dumbledore in his current state, it would not bode well for the child. Nicholas however, was very calm, and said, "I knew this from the start. I have prepared for this. I already designed a room which has runes from Chile, where a wizard designed a room that impacted simply the mind. I added a time acceleration rune on top so the boy will act like a 4 year old in 1 month."

Nicholas held up the boy with his hands and took him to a room which happened to be diagonal to the room Charlus lived in for the past 4 years. Nicholas placed the child inside, and activated the runes. As he activated them, he saw rosy coloured cheeks of the boy and remebered why he saved him.

Flashback | Flamel Manor | June 31st 1977 | 12 PM

Perenelle was convulsing and Nicholas was very worried, as he sat beside her. The whole bed was shaking, but Nicholas was more worried about his wife's frail body. He held her hand very lightly, and looked at her. A few minutes later, she became still, and opened her eyes.

"I had a vision."

Perenelle declared to Nicholas. Nicholas was very surprised. He knew his wife was a seer, however, he also knew that visions were very important and rare, and they seldom didn't involve the whole magical community.

"It was a message from Adam."

Perenelle's words caught his attention immediately. He looked at his wife intently and waited for her to continue.

"He asked me to save his descendant. He did not mention who, but he said that his descendant needed saving soon."

Nicholas immediately got up and said, "It is most probably the Potters. I will go to their castle immediately."

Dumbledore's Cottage | December 21st | 7 PM

Nicholas Flamel left Charlus Potter on the door step of Dumbledore's house, and left, leaving the baby in the cold winter night. He only had a pendant on his neck, that warmed him up, and a letter in his hands. He knocked on the door twice.

"Who is it, finding it worth their time to visit this pack of bones?" Dumbledore asked jokingly through the door as he opened it. He looked in front of him but couldn't see anyone. "Is my eyesight getting bad, or is it my hearing?"

Dumbledore joked to himself and turned around to close the door, but was stopped by 4-year old Charlus. Charlus pulled Dumbledore's clothes, drawing his attention.

"Well who left you here? Surely they have the sense to give you a jacket."

Charlus was clad in a simple jumpsuit, nowhere near enough to stand the biting winds of winter solstice. Charlus was led inside by Dumbledore. He sat down on a couch opposite to Dumbledore.

"What can I do for you boy?"

Dumbledore was confused as to why a child was standing at his doorstep. He asked the boy what happened. The boy didn't say anything, but reached out and gave the letter in his hand to Dumbledore.

Dumbledore read the contents and was shocked.

"Dear Albus Dumbledore,

I am sure that you will have many questions about who I am and why I left a boy at your doorstep. Who I am is unimportant, but the identity of the boy isn't. He is Charlus Potter, the son of the late James and Lily Potter. He was rescued by me from death eaters. There was another person, a stout person who resembled a rat, that person was in cahoots with the death eaters as well. Any way, I digress. He was in a coma until a while back, and he just woke. I am leaving this boy so you have him live with his brother. The reason I saved him was because of a past favor we owed the Potter Family, but you can no longer count on us on his safety. The pendant on the boy's neck is a magical artifact for his safety. I hope you will take care of the boy.

Thank you..."

The letter wasn't signed, but Dumbledore knew the person who wrote it was on the same level of magical power as himself and Voldemort. Dumbledore sighed sadly and muttered to himself, "Ohh. What a pity. If only Lily and James knew their son was still alive, they would be overjoyed."

Dumbledore shook his head. He was sure that the boy was a descendant of the Potter family. While there was the resemblance of the boy to James' father, Charlus Potter, there was also the unmistakable magical signature of the Potters present in him.

Dumbledore went through the letter and mulled over the letter and thought of the recent events. He thought it was a pity that the boys would now have to be placed at the Dursleys. Suddenly, a realization struck him.....
