93 Chapter 93: Dueling Club (1)

After Halloween, the yearly Quidditch Cup was about to begin.

This year, Slytherin had seven Nimbus 2001 brooms, which Cho took very seriously. The Ravenclaw team had been training a lot lately.

However, Arthur didn't join the training. His skills wouldn't make much of a difference as long as he could protect Cho perfectly during the matches.

The first match of the year was between Slytherin and Gryffindor.

Today, Slytherin's seven new brooms were going to make their debut.

Despite the heavy rain, all the Gryffindor students faced the weather to watch the match and cheer for Gryffindor.

During the match, unlucky Harry encountered another problem.

He was targeted by a Bludger that tirelessly pursued him, hitting him with great force.

However, Harry had experience from his previous encounter with Arthur, so he could hold on for a while.

In the end, he managed to grab the Golden Snitch, paying the price of being hit by the Bludger, which resulted in a broken arm.

To make matters worse, Professor Lockhart's attempt at healing Harry's arm only made it worse, as he accidentally removed all the bones from his arm.

Arthur didn't watch the match because he didn't like going out in thunderstorms. However, when the returning students informed him of the day's results, he became interested in Harry's arm.

Arthur went to the school infirmary and quickly found Harry. Harry was lying in bed, holding a Quidditch magazine in his left hand.

When he saw Arthur's arrival, he was happy.

"Arthur, I'm glad you came to see me!"

Arthur casually responded and walked to Harry's side, raising his right hand.

Harry's right hand could now be called "genuinely boneless," as his entire arm was as flexible as a rubber person who had eaten a Gum-Gum Fruit.

Arthur casually manipulated Harry's arm, occasionally twisting his fingers into a knot, thoroughly enjoying himself. Arthur reluctantly let go of his arm when Harry's lifeless eyes lost their shine.

"Do you remember the spell Professor Lockhart used at that time?" Arthur asked with great interest.

"I don't know! I need to rest!" Harry's mind was in turmoil after Arthur's strange actions, and he was ready to guide Arthur out and close the door.

Arthur still wanted to say something, but Madam Pomfrey entered, quickly escorting Arthur out.

She said that Harry needed enough rest to help his bones heal faster.

Even Arthur didn't want to upset the head of the hospital, so he had to leave unhappy and leave Harry behind, who had the Gum-Gum Fruit ability.

Harry's hand recovered well and he was discharged from the hospital on Sunday evening. However, after this incident, he had not only a more deep dislike for Professor Lockhart but also a touch of fear.

Arthur also noticed that Professor Lockhart seemed to be able to make things that were already bad even worse. First, it was the incident with the house-elves, and now Harry's arm.

This spell was truly unusual.

...

A week later, as Arthur and Hermione walked through the entrance hall, they suddenly saw a small group of people gathered around the notice board.

Harry excitedly appeared from the crowd.

"They're starting a Dueling Club!" Harry exclaimed. "The first meeting is tonight."

Harry was overjoyed because he had been learning many spells with Arthur recently, but he always ended up getting beaten and felt a lack of achievement.

However, the Dueling Club presented a great opportunity for him to teach Draco a lesson.

Arthur nodded as he watched Harry's excitement.

He turned to Hermione and Cho and said, "You two can also find some opponents at the Dueling Club to improve your dueling skills."

Cho found it strange that Arthur didn't seem surprised at all about the Dueling Club.

It was as if he had known about its existence all along.

Arthur nodded, confirming Cho's suspicion.

"Professor Dumbledore expressed his concern about me revealing the Chamber of Secrets incident and causing panic, so I came up with an idea to distract the students' attention."

Hermione curiously asked, "So, did you organize this club?"

Arthur shrugged and denied, "I don't know. I only made a suggestion. I'm not sure how it was set up."

"Well, let's go eat first. We'll find out everything tonight," Arthur said, leading the way into the Great Hall to have dinner.

...

At 8 PM in the school's Great Hall.

The long dining tables disappeared, and in the center of the hall stood a temporary gold-plated square stage, brightened by hundreds of floating candles.

"I wonder who will be leading us," Harry struggled to say in the middle of the crowded place.

"Arthur told me that Professor Flitwick used to be a Dueling Champion when he was young, so it's probably him," Hermione replied.

Hermione, Arthur, and Cho stood together as Arthur cast a barrier charm, creating a separate space to prevent others from crowding in.

"Just as long as it's not..." Harry's words trailed off as he exclaimed, "Oh, damn!"

The person he least wanted to see, Professor Lockhart, stepped onto the stage.

Professor Lockhart was dressed in a purple robe, sparkling brightly, and wore his trademark smile as he stood on the stage, accompanied by a cold-faced Professor Snape.

Professor Lockhart thoroughly enjoyed the attention of the crowd. He waved his hand to quiet everyone down and began his speech.

"It's an honor for me to support the Dueling Club. When Headmaster Dumbledore proposed this idea, I knew it was a club specifically designed for me."

"He's shameless!" Hermione expressed her anger.

It was originally Arthur's suggestion.

Cho nodded in agreement.

Arthur chuckled at the two girls.

He never cared about such trivial matters. In fact, he had proposed the idea so that Hermione and Cho could have opponents to practice with and gain combat experience.

Professor Lockhart continued to walk on stage, not forgetting to promote his books.

In the last thirty seconds, he finally introduced Professor Snape, whose face had grown darker.

"Professor Snape himself knows a thing or two about dueling. He kindly agreed to assist me with a small demonstration before class... Don't worry, I'll return your potions professor to you intact."

With that, he smiled, revealing a set of perfect white teeth.
