67 Chapter 67: France

Early in the morning, the silence of Arthur's house was ruined by the arrival of a phoenix.

Fawkes, Dumbledore's phoenix, delivered Dumbledore's letter to him first thing in the morning.

After throwing the letter onto Arthur's desk, Fawkes excitedly went to play with Furry.

Arthur muttered a curse secretly at the bird and opened the letter:

"Dear Gant, I apologize for writing to you so early. Forgive the busy schedule of an old man who can't retire even at over a hundred years old.

I have already told Nicolas about your situation, and he is delighted that there is a young wizard in this era who is so knowledgeable about alchemy. He sincerely invites you to be his guest at his castle in Paris, France. If it doesn't affect your lovely summer vacation, please go to Nicolas as soon as possible. He is excited to meet you.

Yours faithfully, Headmaster Albus Dumbledore."

After reading Dumbledore's letter, Arthur was very happy.

The summer vacation was already halfway over, and this old Dumbledore finally brought news from Nicolas Flamel.

This made Arthur wonder if Nicolas Flamel had run out of the Elixir of Life and wanted to rest in the grave.

But when Arthur read what was in the letter, he knew he should go to Gaul, which was the name of ancient France.

He picked up a pen and wrote a letter to his two little witches and the twin brother.

The letter gave a brief description of his schedule so that they wouldn't worry that they wouldn't be able to reach him internationally because of the owl.

Handing the letter to Fawkes, who was still bothering Furry, Arthur drove away Dumbledore's annoying bird.

Arthur decided to leave tomorrow. He planned to take advantage of the remaining time today to set up some protective measures for his house.

Although there were no enemies, it was better to be cautious.

...

Bali, Champs-Élysées.

This was the most famous avenue in France, also known as the Avenue des Champs-Élysées.

When he walked down the street, a handsome young boy often caught the attention of people, who couldn't help but admire that there was such a handsome boy in the world.

The boy was Arthur, walking slowly along the street until he reached a café and walked in.

There was not a single customer in the entire café, as if the people didn't know that there was a shop existed there.

When entering the door, Arthur was greeted not by a human but by a house-elf. Seeing Arthur walk in, the house-elf quickly came forward, bowing deeply and respectfully spoke.

"Excuse me, are you Master Gaunt? I am the house-elf, Sean. My master instructed me to welcome your arrival."

Arthur nodded.

"Please follow me."

The house-elf Sean kept his head down and led Arthur through the back of the kitchen, arriving at a garden.

Suddenly, the garden split in the middle, revealing a large crack, and Arthur followed the house-elf inside.

Once the two entered, the garden closed up again, returning to its original place.

After entering, Arthur discovered a hidden world inside. They seemed to have been transported to another place.

They walked several hundred meters until they reached a medieval castle.

On both sides of the castle, there were two giant armored guardians. When seeing Arthur and Sean, they bowed slightly as if welcoming the arrival of guests.

They made their way to a lounge in the castle.

There was no one inside, but Arthur felt that something was constantly watching him, yet he couldn't find the source of this feeling.

Arthur glanced around and noticed that the entire lounge was decorated in a modern style, filled with air conditioning, television, and electric fans.

It didn't seem to fit with the whole medieval atmosphere of the castle.

At this moment, an old voice sounded, "Sean, have you brought Mr. Gaunt here?"

Arthur turned and saw an old man appearing from behind a side chain on the side of the wheelchair.

There was no one pushing the wheelchair, and it didn't seem to be controlled manually.

The wheelchair simply slid over. It was pretty creepy.

Arthur knew that this was Nicolas Flamel.

He took a few steps forward and respectfully said, "Hello, Mr. Flamel. I am Arthur Gaunt."

"Hmm, good, good child."

Nicolas Flamel was very glad and nodded in satisfaction. Through his conversation with Dumbledore, he already knew how talented the young wizard in front of him was.

Not only was he far superior in spells to ordinary people, but he also had made many achievements in the ancient and challenging subject of alchemy.

When Dumbledore shared some alchemical questions they had discussed, Nicolas Flamel was surprised.

However, what he didn't expect was that this supposedly brilliant young wizard would be so humble and polite instead of arrogant and self-centered.

He was attractive and kind, and Nicolas Flamel felt like he was seeing himself when he was younger.

"Sean, prepare a delicious dinner."

Nicolas Flamel spoke to the house-elf Sean and told Arthur to take a seat.

Arthur noticed that the voice didn't come from Nicolas Flamel's mouth but from the wheelchair he was sitting in, which surprised him.

The house-elf bowed and exited the room to prepare dinner. In the huge lounge room, only Nicolas Flamel and Arthur remained.

Arthur remembered the sense of being observed earlier and hesitated for a moment before asking about it.

"Mr. Flamel, when I entered this room earlier, I felt like someone was watching me, but..."

Nicolas smiled, somewhat surprised by Arthur's keen perception. He was also interested in testing the young wizard before him.

"You're right. There was indeed someone else observing you in this room. Whether or not you can find them depends on your abilities."

After speaking, he chuckled and watched Arthur, curious to see if he could figure out who had been observing him.
