6 Diagon Alley

Gavin was caught off guard so he panicked, throwing all his preparations aside, and immediately touched the book, not wanting to be left behind.

'Fuck!' he screamed internally as he teleported. His insides felt like they were being churned and kneaded repeatedly, making him feel severely disoriented and dizzy.

The trio soon appeared in a dark and shabby place. Gavin's insides were in turmoil. He was about to puke right then and there but held himself from doing so by sheer will alone.

'Fuck, that was horrible.' Gavin groaned internally.

[You should see your face right now] Aelia laughed boisterously, annoying Gavin.

[Oh shut up…urgh…I feel like I got twisted inside out] Gavin retorted.

"I'm impressed little bro. You actually didn't puke." Cass laughed and said, straightening his jacket.

"This is the Leaky Cauldron by the way, it's like a bar for wizards. Honestly, there's not much to see here so we can just head straight to Diagon Alley" he added as he led Gavin towards the back.

Gavin already knew what the Leaky Cauldron was however, he couldn't exactly explain how he knew it to people when he had never visited the place so he just hummed in affirmation.

Cass then led Gavin towards a small walled courtyard and told Gavin to step back from the wall. He pulled out his wand and was about to tap the wall when Gavin raised his eyebrows and interrupted him.

"I'm not even going to ask how on earth you evaded the Ministry's trace magic." He shrugged and said.

Cass laughed.

"Fuck the Ministry." He muttered as he tapped the wall three times, revealing a bustling street behind it.

"You can say that again." Gavin laughed and replied. Cass often criticized the ministry in the letters he sent. He absolutely abhorred some of Fudge's policies and antics. Gavin shared the same sentiment on the ministry as Cass so they often discussed and made jokes about it.

Once Gavin laid his eyes upon the iconic Diagon Alley, he couldn't help but smile. It was truly…magical. The slanting buildings, the crowd of wizards wearing pointy hats, and the numerous street vendors selling all sorts of magical items…everything he saw screamed 'This is the wizarding world'.

"Welcome to Diagon Alley, little bro. It's beautiful isn't it?" Cass said, looking at Gavin.

"Indeed it is….are we going to Gringotts first?" Gavin replied and asked.

"Right you are little bro…can't exactly shop without money, can we?" Cass responded, nodding and leading Gavin towards Gringotts bank. As they walked, Gavin saw multiple interesting stores he wanted to visit so he memorized them, intending to visit in the future.

'Gringotts looks way bigger than it did in the movies' Gavin thought as he laid his eyes upon the grandiose white building with pillars. He saw multiple goblins around its large bronze door. The entire building was rather…imposing. Cass led Gavin into the bank, finally stopping at a counter with a spectacled goblin behind it.

"Good morning, we're here to withdraw from the Everhart vault." he said expressionlessly.

The goblin raised his eyebrows and looked at the two boys. He put down his quill and asked

"Key?" He asked as he put down his quill.

"Here." Cass said as he pulled out a golden key from his pockets and showed it to the goblin.

"Right this way then." The goblin said stoically, climbing down from his elevated desk and leading Gavin and Cass towards the vault areas.

"Will mom and dad give me a key once I enter Hogwarts?" Gavin asked in the cart as they drove towards the Everhart vault.

"Nah, they'll probably give you once you're 13. That's what they did for me."

"Right, I see." Gavin nodded and responded.

Soon, they reached the inner caverns, the deep parts of the bank. The Everhart vault was one of the largest and most guarded vaults in Gringotts so it was located in the deepest parts of the bank. They stopped in front of a large dark cave.

Cass and Gavin got off the cart, leaving the goblin in it. They walked into the large dark cave and came across a gigantic golden door with a large griffin wearing a crown engraved on its center. The griffin was intricately carved and had a capital letter E emblazoned in its center. Under it, 'Amor, Fortitudo et Fidelitas' was inscribed, in cursive.

'Love, Bravery and Loyalty…what a beautiful door…' Gavin thought as he saw the door.

"Prepare to have your mind blown." Cass said, smirking as he put the key into the keyhole of the vault and turned it, resulting in a loud clicking sound ringing out. Cass then proceeded to cut his hand with a pocket knife and dripped the blood on the door handles, leaving a wound that closed up almost immediately. The door handles glowed brightly and absorbed Cass' blood.

"Quick, come here and drop your blood on the handle." Cass said and gestured to Gavin, handing him the pocket knife.

Gavin quickly cut his hands and dropped his blood on the door handles. The light of the handles intensified as it absorbed his blood and both Cass and Gavin were teleported immediately after.

'Interesting…that wasn't nauseating.' Gavin thought as he opened his eyes.

"M-Merlin's beard!" He exclaimed out loud, widening his eyes in disbelief as he gazed at the interior of the vault.

Mountains of gold, jewels and ornaments could be seen as far as the eye could see. There was gold everywhere. Gavin was even standing in gold. He had never seen this much wealth in both his lives. It was simply dumbfounding. He knew he asked the supernatural entity to make his family wealthy but this was a bit…much in his opinion.

"I said… 'Blimey, we're bloody rich!!' when Dad first took me here." Cass said, smiling at the memory.

"Definitely sounds like something you'd say." Gavin chuckled, stepping out of his state of stupefaction.

"Yeah…same goes for you and 'Merlin's beard'" Cass retorted playfully.

"Honestly can't argue with that. I do say it a lot." Gavin tittered and replied.

"So, what are we taking? Can I take anything?" He added, going through the nearest mountain of gold and jewels.

"Dad said just to give you 5000 galleons before he left." Cass replied.

'Damn 5000…I'm probably one of the wealthiest first years in history.' Gavin thought, rather at ease. His new life had been extremely comfortable so far. He never had to bother about many things and he absolutely loved it.

After a few minutes, Gavin and Cass left the vault. Gavin wanted to explore more and see all the ridiculous magical treasures the vault probably had but Cass was a bit impatient and urged him to get the money so they could leave. He wanted to look for some of his friends and see if any showed up.

Soon, they left the bank. Cass left Gavin and handed him a map of Diagon Alley after they exited the bank and told him to shop for all his stuff himself. Gavin agreed and they parted after that. He didn't mind shopping alone.

As noon clocked around, Gavin had already bought his uniforms from Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions, additional books from Flourish and Blotts, a cauldron and the other things he needed for Hogwarts. All he needed was a wand and pet according to the list. He already had Aelia as his pet so he was currently walking towards Ollivanders wand store. He had yet to see any main characters or people his age but he had fun shopping and conversing with the shop owners nonetheless. They were all intriguing and pretty fun to talk to in Gavin's eyes.

Soon, Gavin arrived at the south side of Diagon Alley. He smiled as he read the strapline of his favorite shop of the wizarding world.

'I'm finally getting my wand..' Gavin thought as neared the old shop.

Gavin stepped into Ollivanders once he arrived at it. A ringing bell sounded as soon as he entered. As he entered, he suddenly froze when he saw a young girl with bushy brown hair, large front teeth and brown eyes who seemed to be around his age. Beside her, were a brown haired middle aged man and woman.

'Hermione Granger…'
