6 Chapter 6

That night, Albert showed his family his new Hogwarts school uniform. If he had to be honest, he thought it looked a bit silly, especially the witch hat. If he wore it out in public, he was sure he would get a lot of stares. At least, that's what Albert thought.

Nina was very happy with her gift and wore the cloak, which was much too large for her, and the black witch hat on her head. She posed in the living room, and Herb snapped a photo of the two of them with a camera. Daisy sat on the sofa, quietly reading Albert's book on the history of magic as she tried to learn more about where her son was going.

"Mom, look, it's a living chocolate frog!" Nina exclaimed as she opened the box containing the chocolate frog. She couldn't help giggling as she watched the chocolate frog jump out of the box. Herb, who had experience with the mischievous chocolate frogs, quickly grabbed the one that fell on the table and handed it to Nina.

He then opened another box, which also contained a chocolate frog. He quickly grabbed it and handed it to Daisy, who was still carefully reading the book.

"Is this really edible?" Daisy asked, raising her eyebrows as she looked suspiciously at the chocolate frog, which looked like a living creature in front of her. She doubted whether it was safe to eat.

"Mum, you can eat it; it tastes very good!" Nina said, smiling as she bit off the head of the chocolate frog. Some melted chocolate was still on her face.

"Okay, wipe your face clean, you little tabby cat!" Albert handed Nina his handkerchief, turned to look at Tom, who was facing the owl, and picked it up, placing it on the sofa. "Tom, don't bully it," he shouted.

Albert took out some owl nuts from the package, poured some onto a plate in the cage, and muttered to himself, "What should I name you?"

"Jerry," Albert suggested.

Albert considered this for a moment and decided to give the snow owl that name. Tom and Jerry.

Although there were no Tom and Jerrys in this world, Albert thought the name was fitting. Jerry seemed to sense the host's malice and didn't respond to the name Jerry.

"Albert, your name is terrible!" Nina said, reaching out to pick up the owl and rubbing her face against it. "It should be called Shera; that's a good name," she said.

"Why can't we call it Sherabi?" Albert asked wickedly.

"Albert, the person in the picture suddenly disappeared!" Herb exclaimed, surprised to find that the person in the chocolate frog painting had vanished.

"What picture?" Albert asked, looking at his father, who was holding a picture of a chocolate frog.

"Maybe the picture of the wizard moves? The chocolate frog can move; why can't the character in the photo move?" Albert speculated.

"That's right!" Herb agreed, accepting his son's explanation. He turned the picture over and read the text on the back: "Albus Dumbledore...the current Headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and considered the Second Coming of Merlin himself."

"Oh, that's the old man who sent the letter to Albert," Daisy said, taking the chocolate frog picture from her husband as she tried to see who had sent the invitation letter to her son.

Unfortunately, the picture was empty. Daisy turned over the chocolate frog picture and continued reading the remaining information. "Dumbledore's well-known contributions include defeating the Dark Lord, Geralt Grindelwald, in 1945 in Nuremberg, discovering twelve uses of dragon blood, and being the student of the famed alchemist, Nicholas Flamel. Professor Dumbledore loves chamber music and sweets."

"Dragon blood?" Daisy's eyes widened in disbelief. "There are still dragons in this world? And Nicholas Flamel, isn't he the..."

"The famous French alchemist who lived in the 14th century," Albert added. "The creator of the legendary Philosopher's Stone It is said that the Philosopher's Stone can turn stone into gold and produce the Elixir of Life, which can make people who drink it immortal. If it's real, that means that Nicholas Flamel could still be alive today."

"Okay, Daisy, don't worry," Herb said, placing an arm around his wife. "The situation is not as bad as you think, especially since we don't know much about the magic world. You should believe in our son; he's a genius, and he can show his talents wherever he goes."

"Albert, can you use magic?" Nina asked, rushing over to Albert and grabbing his hand, shaking it gently like a baby. "I want to see you do magic," she said, looking at Albert expectantly.

"Well, let me study it first; I don't know how to use it yet," Albert said, reaching out to mess up Nina's hair.

"I hate you," Nina said, covering her head and running over to Daisy's side, sharing a pumpkin pie with her.

Albert began to read Miranda Goshawk's "The Standard Book of Spells, Grade One," then took out his wand from the box and prepared for his first attempt at casting.

"No, Albert, don't try it here," Herb shouted, remembering what happened at Ollivanders.

"You should at least have a little confidence in your own son!" Albert raised his wand and tapped it lightly, chanting softly, "Lumos. Lumos. Lumos."

The tip of the wand suddenly flashed, then went out again. "Did the tip of the wand just flash?" Daisy asked uncertainly.

"Yes, it did! Congratulations!" Herb said this with undisguised pride on his face.

"Albert, what was that just now?" Nina asked excitedly.

"Uh, it's a Wand Lighting Charm. There's probably a better version. I'm trying it now," Albert said, secretly checking his panel.

He noticed that there were more variants of the Wand Lighting Charms on the skill list. The spell is still at level 0, but it has gained 7 points of experience. To reach level 1, Albert needs to have truly mastered the spell to a sufficient degree, which requires 100 points of experience. However, Albert does not intend to use the stored experience points to upgrade the Wand Lighting charm to level 1. Even though it's only 100 points of experience, it's still a significant amount for him.

"I'll try it again." Albert cleared his throat and chanted the spell again, causing the tip of the wand to glow palely.

After a total of five attempts, Albert finally managed to master the spell to a decent level. He only needed to concentrate a little bit, and the light on the wand would not easily disappear. Upon seeing this, the other three couldn't help but applaud. Although it was just a simple glowing spell, it was quite impressive in the eyes of the Anderson family.

"Albert, Albert, let me try it too. I want to try it too," Nina said excitedly, throwing herself at her brother.

"No," Albert quickly said, putting away his wand. "At least, you can't play with it here. You know, the last time I tried a wand, I almost blew up the counter at the wand shop."

"Meany!" Nina pouted, frustrated.

"The wand itself is dangerous. I don't know anything about it. What if you put everyone here in danger?" Albert responded.

"Albert is right," Herb quickly said. "You should wait until you're familiar with magic before trying to use it."

"Okay," Nina said, disappointed but still compromising. She was envious of Albert's ability to use magic.

"Your grandfather plans to come over in the next two days. However, I think it's better if we visit your grandmother and grandfather first," Herb said, leaving some candy and gifts from the magic world behind. He knew his father might not eat them, but he would be happy to see them.
