8 Chapter 7: Hogwarts.

Time soon came to September 1st.

The Malfoys came to King's Cross Station an hour before the departure time to avoid the crowd. After passing through platform nine and three-quarters, Rigel saw a crimson steam express parked by the platform, and the sign on the train read: Hogwarts Express, 10 o'clock.

The thick smoke of the train hovered over the noisy crowd, cats of various colors were running under people's feet, and owls screamed harshly. There are so many people here, some are saying goodbye to their children, and some are exchanging their thoughts about the holidays.

So much for arriving earlier...

The two brothers bid farewell to their dissatisfied parents and boarded the Hogwarts Express.

Draco left with Crabbe, Goyle, Pansy, and a couple of his other pureblood friends, but Rigel decided to split up for some peace and quiet. He walked to an empty compartment and sat down. After closing his eyes, he heard a knock and saw a thin black-haired boy with round glasses come in.

"Hello, do you mind if I sit here?"

"No, not at all. Come on in."

"Thanks, my name is Harry Potter, what's your name."

"The name is Rigel, you can call me that or Rai if you prefer it that way."

"Are you also a first-year?"

"Yes."

Harry Potter was feeling overwhelmed. He had just found out that he was a wizard a few months ago. He was stranded by Hagrid at the train station. Just as he felt that he was finally going to feel happy, he met a blond-haired boy who was barely talkative and more interested in the outside scenery. Luckily, another red-haired boy came in, and they were able to talk normally.

When the woman with the cart came to ask if anyone wanted food, Rigel stood up and just bought a couple of each. In his past life, he was a little introverted, so it was hard for him to talk to strangers with an open heart, but he did love listening to others.

"Here, you guys can also dig in."

"Thanks Rai."

"WIcked!!! Mate, your family must be rich."

"Well, we are just higher than average."

"That just sounds like something a super-rich guy would say."

As they talked, Rigel finally warmed up to the others. Ron showed off Scabbers and took out a wand and suddenly, a wild Hermione appeared.

"Have any of seen a toad. Neville has lost his."

Harry shook his head and replied no.

"Oh you are doing magic, can I see."

Ron gulped and did his magic rhyme, but... nothing happened.

"Are you sure that is even a real spell? Here let me show you."

Hermione took Harry's glasses and said, "Reparo." and his glasses were fixed.

Rigel who was finally interested in something, and asked Hermione about the spell despite knowing it like the back of his hand, "Can you tell me the principle behind it."

Hermione was finally happy to meet someone who was interested in the same things as her. She explained with fervor, "The Mending Charm, also known as the Repairing Charm, was a charm that could be used to seamlessly repair a broken object and worked on most materials. It works by restoring an object to its previous state. Now if you excuse me, I need to search. By the way, you got something on your nose."

---------

It was night when the train reached the end. The platform where the freshmen get off is small and dark, rather weird. The cold wind blew through the robes, making a whistling sound. The school did not let the freshmen wait too long. A lamp swayed silently above the students' heads, followed by a rough voice shouting: "First-years First-years, come here!"

Hagrid, who is almost three times the height of a freshman, holds a magic lamp in his right hand, and smiles on his bearded face, "Come on, follow me. Are there any more? Watch out for your feet! Okay, all of the first years, come with me!"

The children followed Hagrid through a rugged mountain road, and suddenly there was a sound of admiration in front of him. At the end of the path, a black lake suddenly spread out, with sparkling waves. On the high hillside on the other side of the lake stood a towering castle, shrouded in unfathomable darkness.

The castle is lined with spires, and windows are gleaming under the starry sky. Boats docked on the shore of the lake, shaking gently with the ripples. Hagrid yelled, "Get on the boat! No more than four people in each boat!"

Ron, Harry, Rigel, and Neville sat on one boat. More than a dozen small boats rowed across the calm lake towards the opposite side. Everyone was silent, staring at the huge castle high into the sky.

At the gate of the castle, Professor McGonagall led the freshmen into the hallway outside the auditorium. Rigel went to the back where he tried to be as inconspicuous as possible.

"Is it true what I heard? The great Harry Potter is among us." Draco began to speak to Harry. Originally, it was cheesy in the movie, but it sounded way cooler in real life.

Harry was dumbfounded. Ron mentioned that he had twin brothers and there were many people with similar appearances in the wizarding world. Harry thought that Draco and Rigel were brothers, but he couldn't relate to this arrogant guy with the quiet and gentle Rigel.

Draco looked around," Hey, where is Rigel, did he get lost or something?"

Just then, Professor McGonagall interrupted them. "Now, in a single row," Professor McGonagall said to the first-year freshmen, "follow me." They walked out of the room, walked through the foyer, and entered the luxurious dining room through a double door at the back.

Rigel rejoined Harry and Ron silently without anyone noticing.

The students from the four houses have all been sitting around four long tables. Above the tables, thousands of candles floating in the air illuminate the dining room. On the four tables were glittering gold plates and goblets. There is another long table on the top table of the restaurant, which is the seat of the teachers.

Rigel saw Professor Snape sitting on the far side, professor McGonagall took the first-year freshmen over there and arranged them in a row facing all the senior class students, with the teachers behind them. The candlelight flickered, and hundreds of faces staring at them looked like pale lanterns.

Then Professor McGonagall put a four-legged stool in front of the freshmen, and Professor McGonagall put a top wizard hat on the stool, the hat was patched, worn out, and extremely dirty.

There is no sound in the hall. Then, the hat twisted, there was a wide slit in the brim of the hat, like a mouth—the hat began to sing:

You may think I'm not pretty,

And all that hattiness, that I am too lazy to write...

"Whoever I call now, put on the hat, sit on a stool, and wait for the hat to sort you into your houses." Professor McGonagall said, "Hannah Abbot!"

A little girl with a ruddy complexion and two golden braids stumbled out of the queue and put on a hat that just covered her restricted eyes. She sat down. There was a pause—"Hufflepuff!" shouted the hat.

The people at the table on the right applauded Hannah and welcomed her to sit at their table. But she even saw a fat monk ghost and waved to her happily.

"Susan Bones!"

Hufflepuff!" the hat yelled again. Susan quickly ran to Hannah and sat down.

"Terry Boot!" "Ravenclaw!"

This time, the second table from the left clapped and applaud. When Terry joined them, several Ravenclaw students stood up and shook hands with him.

Then Professor McGonagall called a dozen freshmen by name."Hermione Granger!"

"Gryffindor!" the hat shouted.

"Oh no!!! Now we will have to be stuck with her for the next seven years."

Rigel looked at Ron strangely and thought, 'is this the kind of thing you say to your future wife?'

"Harry Potter!" Professor McGonagall called.

As soon as the name was pronounced, Cronos heard a sudden buzzing and hissing noise in the hall.

"Potter, is she calling Potter?"

"Is that Harry Potter?"

Harry walked up to the stool and sat down. Unsurprisingly, it went according to the original script. The same thing happened with Ron.

"Rigel Malfoy."

When Rigel walked up to the stool, there was a gasp from Ron, Harry, and Neville. Other pure-blooded students were also whispering, but for completely different reasons.

"Ron, how is Rigel related to that arrogant Malfoy."

"Oh my god, Harry, that is Draco's twin brother. I thought he was just one of the other muggle-borns. I have never seen a noble without oiled and greased hair like him."

Rigel who was listening in also agreed. He hated how children were supposed to do that.

Harry sighed," Hopefully he comes to Gryffindor."

Ron shook his head. Although he hated the Malfoy's he liked Edward." Probably not, all Malfoys go to Slytherin."

--------

So, this is the first poll we are going to do!!!!

Gryffindor.

Ravenclaw.

Hufflepuff.

Slytherin.

Choose wisely... This will determine much of the plot.
