13 Chapter 13 : Interesting magic

After the troll incident, not a single first-year student from Slytherin or any other house tried anything against Adam; they looked at him with fear and even a hint of concealed respect.

Only Theodore spoke to the boy, and that was fine. Adam isn't a very sociable person, and given Theodore's energy, to the point of hyperactivity, he had his daily dose.

The young boy had spent weeks in the library researching exactly which plants and foods would have beneficial effects on his body.

Adam had just picked up his little elf statue, which he'd turned into gold the last time he was in the Room of Requirement, and set off in search of the Weasley brothers.

He finally found them in the Great Hall at lunchtime, and made his way over to them.

- To what do we owe... said one of them

- ...troll-killing time," finished the other, smiling.

- I'm going to need these things and I've heard you can provide them," replied Adam.

Fred or George looked at the parchment Adam had handed him and frowned.

- We can...

- ...But it'll cost you.

Adam took out his gold statuette.

- When I've got my ingredients, it's yours.

Both of them widened their eyes and greed appeared in their gaze.

- Order accepted! they said in chorus.

[Scene break]

Adam had set up a morning routine designed solely to strengthen his body and reflexes.

Every day he got up early and went for a run outside the castle, followed by body-weight training.

Soon he would be able to increase the load as he began to get used to the training.

The ingredients ordered from the Weasleys should arrive soon; they warned him that in a week at the most he'd be served.

The cold November weather shrouded the mountains surrounding the school in ice, and Adam noticed that the lake had taken on a steely hue, as he saw Hagrid every morning, early in the morning, defrosting the brooms on the Quidditch pitch.

Adam took a break from his morning jog, his breath coming out of his mouth to the rhythm of his labored breathing, emitting a cold mist into the air.

- Wouldn't it be Harry's first match soon?

Although Adam was interested in Quidditch, he was more focused on his reinforcement. The ingredients should arrive today and the speed at which his body would strengthen would be multiplied!!!

Excited though he was, he headed off for a shower before heading to the library before the start of his first class.

He picked up a book at random and sat down on one of the wooden desks that ran alongside a shelf.

- "Art of illusions, magic affecting the mind, part one," Adam read aloud.

Intrigued, he opened the book. The more he read, the more he understood the potential of such magic.

His ability to hear the melodies of every object and reproduce them identically would make his illusions a living hell for his enemies, who wouldn't even know they were caught in an illusion. Reality or illusion? That was the question, and it would drive the sorcerer caught up in it into a veritable paranoid madness.

Adam would also have the ability to sneak in anywhere, he'd just have to delude the sorcerer that the room was normal and that he wasn't there, and that would be that.

- Especially since a lot of wizards don't have enough Occlumency shields to defend themselves, and the more I progress, the easier it will be to get past their mental shields.

He has read the entire book and retained its fundamental principles.

Although the art of illusion is as vast as a sorcerer's imagination, creating a magical apparition requires a deep understanding of fundamental magical principles. Illusion, beyond its apparent simplicity, is a subtle dance between reality and imagination, requiring a perfect balance to deceive the mind.

According to the book, illusion rests on 4 pillars.

First and foremost, the design of the illusion. The essence of an illusion lies in the precision of the design. Every detail, from color to texture, must be carefully chosen to create a convincing image. The power of illusion lies in the finesse of its creation.

Secondly, illusion relies on the energy of the Imagination. A powerful illusion draws its energy from the sorcerer's imagination. This means visualizing the object or creature you wish to make appear with absolute clarity in your mind. The more vivid your mental image, the more realistic the illusion.

- Hmm, I can reinforce this by imitating to perfection the original melody of each thing in my illusion.

Next comes the flow of magic. Adam will have to channel his magical energy through his wand in a fluid and constant manner. Imagine it blending with the image he has mentally created. The flow of magic is the canvas on which his illusion will come to life.

And finally, the control of Perception by manipulating the observer's senses. Illusion relies not only on visual appearance, but also on auditory, olfactory and tactile sensations. A complete sensory experience must be created to reinforce perceived reality.

- The next step was to memorize the melody of as many objects as possible!

So Adam began to "listen" to every object that was already in the room, starting with the desk, the paper books and so on.

He suddenly looked at the clock and saw that it was time for class. Adam would have liked to start creating an illusion, or at least try, but the time was the time.

He quickly went downstairs and arrived in the classroom where McGonagall was already waiting to teach them.

- Mr Potter! Please come here," she said.

Adam approached, though he hadn't been making any waves lately.

- The principal wants to see you after my class," she whispered. Still in the same place in front of the gargoyle and the password is lemon tartlet, so don't be late.

Adam nodded grimly.

"No doubt due to my negligence with the troll... I should have found another way to kill him."

The class passed at an astonishing speed, and Adam had to make his way to Dumbledore's office at a snail's pace.

Arriving in front of the gargoyle, he straightened up, put a stoic expression on his face and moved forward with a firm step.

- Lemon tartlet.

The gargoyle came to life and the stairs appeared.

Adam mounted them and just as he was about to knock on the wooden door, a voice rang out:

- Mr. Potter. Come on in! We have a few things to talk about.

Adam shivered slightly and entered the study.
